Home remedies for bronchitis

Bronchitis in a child or adult is a condition that is often caused by viruses. Fortunately, this unpleasant ailment is effectively eliminated by home remedies for bronchitis, which can be used by almost all of us. Why is natural medicine so effective?

Bronchial cough - how to recognize sick bronchi?

  • Bronchitis can be divided into three types:
  • acute - lasts about 3 weeks,
  • subacute - lasts up to 8 weeks,
  • chronic - lasts over 8 weeks.

According to the duration of the symptoms, possible causes of bronchitis can be attributed. Acute inflammation is most often caused by viruses, subacute inflammation is caused by bronchial hyperreactivity after inflammation, while chronic inflammation is a consequence of the influence of factors irritating the exhaust system - such as smoking. Bronchial cough is the main symptom and ailment - however, natural home treatments will definitely help. It is worth reducing the symptoms, however, using not only methods for bronchitis - home remedies for laryngitis, home remedies for cough or home remedies for angina will be equally effective.

Hydration of the body

It is the primary treatment of ailments that must be applied to all bronchitis. Remember that a large amount of fluids will thin the mucus, so it will facilitate expectoration. Drink at least 4 glasses of warm liquid (like tea) or natural, still water every day. Of course, avoid alcohol and coffee during this time - they are diuretics, so the body can lose water through them.

Drinking milk will be just as effective! This is a good option, especially for a child's bronchitis. A glass of milk drunk each day will reduce the risk of chronic bronchitis. The method is also recommended for smokers who want to quit the addiction.

 Air humidification and home inhalation

Home remedies for bronchitis also include proper air humidification. You can buy a humidifier for this purpose or put a wet towel on the radiator - thanks to it, a lot of water vapor will get into the respiratory tract without escaping into the atmosphere. A nebulizer is better for children - it is easier and more effective (especially for babies).

When it comes to home inhalations, diseased bronchi can be treated by pouring hot water into a vessel and adding essential oils to it. Then lean over it and inhale the escaping vapors for about 15 minutes. The best herbal oils are:

  • mint,
  • rosemary,
  • eucalyptus,
  • anise,
  • pine.

You can also use saline in combination with hyaluronic acid - they moisturize the mucosa of the respiratory tract. Inhalations are also excellent home remedies for coughing and, not worse, home remedies for laryngitis. Unfortunately, not everyone tolerates these methods well - especially children. For them, it will be best to buy aromatic patches, because they do not irritate children's airways so much.

Treatment with herbs

It is known for a long time that herbs have a positive effect on many ailments. Medicines containing them are good home remedies for angina, runny nose or all kinds of inflammation - including bronchitis. Thanks to some of them, you can reduce the symptoms caused by this inflammation. It is worth taking advantage of the valuable properties:

  • medical vomiting,
  • licorice,
  • comfrey,
  • soapwort,
  • ivy,
  • mullein,
  • primrose,
  • anise,
  • fennel
  • pine trees,
  • thyme,
  • thyme,
  • mint.

The above-mentioned herbs mostly have an expectorant effect and also have antibacterial properties. And if you combine some of them, you can get effective herbal mixtures. And yes, ivy extract combined with, for example, anise and thyme can significantly improve the health of the respiratory tract - and in just 7 days after its application!

Garlic and onion

They appear in almost every ailment. It is important to eat them in large amounts, especially if you have a cold. Garlic is a natural antibiotic that effectively deals with all kinds of infections. No wonder that it has been used in natural medicine for many years.

Onions also show positive properties, supporting the immune system. All you have to do is make homemade syrup! Cut the onion into feathers, alternate it with the sugar and place it in the jar. You can leave it on the radiator overnight to get onion juice and treat yourself with the medicine you get during your illness.

Remember that…

In the event of no improvement or deterioration of your health, be sure to see a doctor as soon as possible! The above tips are traditional home treatments, not medical science backed by research. Therefore, using them cannot be an alternative to using standard medical services and medical consultations!
