HANDLED CRIMINAL MATTERS - HIMSELF MISSING UNDER UNEXPLARED CIRCUMSTANCES

Aleksandra Walczak, a journalist working for Nowości in Toruń, went missing in 2004. What happened to the "special task" woman whose activities contributed to the detention of many dangerous criminals?

Aleksandra Walczak, 51, lived in Mały Rudnik near Toruń. She disappeared under mysterious circumstances on Friday, March 12, 2004. That day, she was returning from vacation in Szczyrk, where she was staying with her son and his friend. While skiing, she behaved normally - she made plans for the future: she wanted to publish a new book, move to Toruń and… leave her husband. Just before leaving, she found the courage and filed for divorce. She left for Szczyrk because she was afraid of her husband's reaction.

All three left the resort at 5:45 pm. Aleksandra was driving in one car, while her son and his friend were in another.

"My mother set off on the way back in her own car a little earlier than me. I caught up with her somewhere near Siewierz and, according to our earlier agreement, I called the cell and asked if we were stopping for a meal. My mother said that she was not hungry, so I overtook her. car, blinked my headlights, pulled forward, and saw her so much ... "

Aleksandra contacted her son for the last time around 23:28 when he was already at his home in Papowo Toruński. The woman called him and said that he was just passing this place and headed home. The next day, Daniel tried to contact his mother throughout Sunday, but to no avail. Already at about 4 p.m., he heard the following message in the receiver: "subscriber temporarily unavailable". On Monday, Aleksandra did not show up for work, so she was reported missing to the police.

"On Monday I went to Grudziądz where I found my stepfather. He claimed that he had not seen his wife for two weeks, that is from the moment she left for Szczyrk."

Only on Wednesday, March 17, 2004, in the parking lot in front of the main station in Toruń, the missing car was found - it was a black Skoda Fabia. Inside were luggage and personal belongings: gray Dynastar skis and Salomon ski boots. There was no mobile phone, documents, or keys. Witnesses said the vehicle arrived at the parking lot on the same day at noon, but no one knew how it got there. According to Mr. Daniel, the mother had only 150 zlotys on her, so if she needed cash, she would have to withdraw money from the account. However, no operation has been performed on her bank account to date.

The police ignored the disappearance of the journalist from Toruń. The area of Rudnik Mały was searched very briefly, and although there were many small lakes and ponds there, no attempts were made to determine the location of the missing cell phone (no other transmitter had detected it either, which may mean that it was within a relatively short range), and additionally - no recordings from municipal monitoring were secured. It was only established that Aleksandra Walczak arrived in the town where she lived, as evidenced by earth particles collected from the tread of the wheels.

Subsequent searches cost a lot of money, people, and equipment. Despite this, it has never been possible to establish what really happened to the missing woman.

There is a fingerprint on the missing car and a lock of hair inside it. However, it has not been established who they belonged to. The husband, son, and friend were excluded. A thick layer of dust of unknown origin was noticed on the hood of the car. A nightgown with traces of blood was found in Aleksandra Walczak's house, but the police decided that it was not related to her disappearance. The husband of the missing woman denied any connection with the disappearance of his wife. He also refused to be tested with a lie detector, explaining that he had problems with his health. The man did not take an active part in the search - he seemed withdrawn. At that time, he tried to regulate financial matters - he applied to the prosecutor's office for the right to decide about his wife's car, as well as to dispose of the joint property.

"I can't believe that she ran away and suddenly changed her life. She was too comfortable for that, so I gave her stabilization. But what happened? I don't know. I don't miss it, although if she showed up at the gate I'd be glad."

Aleksandra dealt professionally with criminal matters and there is a suspicion that her disappearance is connected with it. The journalist was for "special tasks": she reported, inter alia, the trial of the murderers of Father Jerzy Popiełuszko and the case of the "king of the coal mafia" - Edward S. She also contributed to the detention and arrest of members of the gang famous for terrorizing restaurateurs. She often published articles about the criminal nature of famous businessmen and politicians.

"Some of the people Aleksandra Walczak once wrote about are at large. So it cannot be ruled out that the journalist fell victim to revenge."

Several leads emerged in the course of the investigation, but not all of them were verified. One retired policeman, who did not reveal his personal details, suggested a contract murder. One of the family members of the woman was supposed to pay 50,000 zlotys for her "liquidation". According to the police officer, the contractor was an Armenian who lay down on the road near the town of Skoki and pretended to be wounded. Aleksandra was supposed to get out of the car and lean over it to help him. Then the man could hit her neck and then strangle her and throw her body into the swamp. The police were not interested in this track, because in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship there is no village called Skoki, only Skoki Duże.

One of the inhabitants of Gdańsk claimed that the journalist's body was located on the 37th kilometer of the road to Warsaw, while another witness pointed to the swamps between Józefków and Płużnica. In the meantime, the experts set about creating a psychological profile of the perpetrator, or rather two perpetrators, who were most likely between the ages of 25 and 55. Their operation was carefully planned, and the abandonment of the car at the station was intended to confuse the police by suggesting the woman's departure. The motive for the murder (if it happened) was either revenge or financial reasons.

The hypothesis about the escape and starting a new life was also taken into account, but the son of the missing woman does not agree with this, according to whom the mother was greatly changed by the birth of the long-awaited grandson.

"Always skeptical, she suddenly became more cheerful, she looked to the future with more optimism. She was due to retire in two years. So she planned, calmly, to work freelance, and write a book. And take care of her beloved granddaughter. Would she say all this, when thinking of quitting or committing suicide, as one of the police hypotheses implies? That's bullshit! "

The case of Aleksandra Walczak is still waiting to be resolved.

THE LOSS OF COURTNEY HOLDEN: A TRAGICAL STORY OF MODERN CINDERELLA

Courtney Corrine Holden was born on February 28, 1992, and, as a little girl, she entered the foster care system for some reason. Eventually, she was adopted by a woman named Judy Holden, and with her, her son Joshua, and several other adoptive children, she settled in Spokane, Washington. In 2011, Courtney's son was born, but she was not in a relationship with her child's father and she continued to live with her son in Judah's house.

Living in the adoption house was a real hell for the girl. People visiting the Holden house have often heard both Judy and Joshua mock Courtney and refer to her as Cinderella. Like this fairy-tale character, Courtney was a slave girl forced to do all kinds of household chores. Courtney once confided to a neighbor that she was not allowed to have a cell phone, a Facebook account, talk to anyone outside her family, drive a car, or leave the house without Joshua's permission. Several of the neighbors saw the bruises on Courtney's face and hands, and when asked about their origins, she said, "Joshua beats me." Eventually, she was even deprived of the "privilege" of talking to her neighbors. The neighbors only saw her outside in the evenings, because she was not allowed to leave the house during the day.

As for Joshua himself, his family and friends describe him as paranoid, violent and unpredictable. He used to boast publicly that killing someone was easy for him, as well as effectively disposing of a body. The man was diagnosed with schizophrenia and had a long history of conflicts with the law. In 2005, he was charged with rape, but the charges against him were eventually dropped due to a lack of evidence, and the victim no longer wanted to cooperate with the police. The man is also suspected of another rape in 2003. Joshua had previously been arrested for unlawful incarceration, domestic violence and convicted of burglary. Joshua moved out of the family home for a while, but returned to it in 2014. Upon his return, he installed cameras in the house to control Courtney.

The relationship in the Holden house is described as strange. For Courtney's child was expected to call Judy "mom" and Joshua "dad." It was the son of Judah who was in full control of the home.

Courtney, 26, was last seen in August 2018 (some sources mention April). One day, one of the neighbors noticed her walking away from her home with a large travel bag. There was also a scream of angry Judy: "Come home!" to which Courtney replied, "I'm not staying here any longer!" Suddenly Joshua ran out of the house, catching up with Courtney and forcing her to go back inside. No one has seen her since then, nor has she contacted anyone. Interestingly, her social welfare allowance was regularly paid from her bank account and her food stamps were used regularly.

In October 2019, Courtney's son's father filed with the police notice of Courtney's disappearance, arguing that he had not seen or heard her in over 2 years. On October 24, 2019, the police armed with a search warrant went to the Holden home and to their surprise found Courtney is actually not there and neither Joshua nor Judy want to cooperate. Judy allowed the detectives to look into Courtney's room but then asked them to leave her property. Body search dogs were brought to the site, but to no avail. Courtney's relatives said the woman would not voluntarily leave her son for such a long time.

On the same day the missing person report was filed, Judy and Joshua withdrew $ 600 from Courtney's bank account. Later that day, a woman called the Crime Tip Line who claimed to be Courtney was safe and did not want to be looked for. Police quickly determined that the caller was in fact one of Courtney's adoptive sisters.

Joshua and Judy told many conflicting stories about Courtney's absence. One day they claimed that the woman ran away with the truck driver; another that she ran away with her fiancé whom they did not know.

In late October 2019, Joshua and Judy Holden left Spokane. Detectives tracked them down in Texas, at the home of one of Judy's daughters. Investigators found them thanks to illegal payments of benefits from Courtney Holden's account. The couple were then charged with identity theft, arrested and imprisoned in a Texas prisons. While they were not accused of being part of Courtney's disappearance, they remain the prime suspects in the case to date. Both Jody and Joshua have not admitted having anything to do with Courtney's disappearance, but the police are pretty sure they are dealing with a homicide.

Courtney was 26 years old, 5'5 ″ tall and weighed 160 pounds at the time of disappearance. Anyone with information regarding her missing can contact the Spokane Police Department at 509-755-2489.

Abandoned and crashed car on a dark, empty road. WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DRIVER? RIDDLE 60 MINUTES.

Jason Landry, a 21-year-old student from Texas, went missing on December 13, 2020. That evening, the young man left the University of San Marcos campus and headed to his family home in the Sienna neighborhood of Missouri City, a suburb of Houston, to spend the Christmas holidays there.

Authorities believe his car crashed and was subsequently abandoned. Jason's clothes and personal belongings were found in and around the car. The tracking dogs sensed his scent, and the trail led them from the crash site to the surrounding pond, but a thorough search in the reservoir by divers yielded no results.

In December 2020, Jason completed his first semester at the University of San Marcos, Texas, where he competed for admission to the prestigious Sound Recording Technology program. The man left his dorm room on December 13, around 10:55 p.m. The student left San Marcos and embarked on a 2-3-hour trip to his parent's home in Missouri City, Texas, where he would spend the holidays. Jason never made it to his parent's house.

Shortly after midnight on December 14, a firefighter driving across the Salt Flat Road in Luling, Texas, discovered an abandoned and damaged car on the side of the road. The man decided to stop and check if there was any injured person inside. The accident must have happened recently because the car's lights were still on. The vehicle's keys were in the ignition and the driver's door was locked. But nowhere was there any sign of the driver of the car. The firefighter decided to inform the relevant services about his discovery.

It quickly turned out that the car belonged to Jason Landry. State police have determined that Landry had an accident caused by a bump on a gravel road, causing him to fall off the road and hit a tree. Jason's backpack, peaked cap, and toiletries were found approximately 900 feet from the wreckage. The backpack contained a small amount of marijuana, a laptop, and gaming equipment (console?).

On the same day, his parents were notified of Jason's accident. When his father arrived at the scene on December 14, he made a few more discoveries. A short distance from his son's vehicle, he found Jason's clothing, including a T-shirt, shorts, socks, underwear, sandals, and a wristwatch. Interestingly, the T-shirt his father found was the same shirt Jason had worn the night before during the trip.

As there was still no trace of the student, a search was initiated. The Caldwell County Sheriff's Office in collaboration with the Texas Rangers, a team of federal agents and private investigators made every effort to locate Jason. A photo of the missing person and his description was also released to the media. Jason has been described as a white male who is just over six feet tall and weighs 170 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

Initially, the authorities focused on the local pond where their tracking dogs led them. The pond was drained and thoroughly searched, but no clues were found. The search action involved helicopters equipped with thermal imaging cameras, UAVs (drones), tracking dogs, divers, and volunteers. In addition, some search groups scoured the grounds on quad bikes and horses. Forests, rivers, and lakes were searched… to no avail.

Authorities admitted they had no idea what might have happened that night and said Jason's disappearance was mysterious. Jason's father, Ken Landry, believes his son may have gotten lost because the road where his wrecked car was found is dimly lit and the lack of buildings nearby makes it very dark at night. No traces of paint of a different color were found on his son's car, which could indicate that another vehicle was involved in the accident or that it was pushed off the road. The man does not exclude that his son may have been chased by another driver, as a result of which he lost control of the steering wheel and drove off the road. It is also possible that he could get lost following the directions of the navigation incorrectly pointing to the way. It is also possible that an animal appeared on the road in front of Jason's car that the man tried to avoid and eventually hit a tree.

Jason's cell phone was found in the car on the driver's side floor. Thanks to him and the monitoring devices, it was possible to determine the course of the route covered by the student that night.

  • December 13, 10:55 pm - Landry leaves the San Marcos dorm with the intention of going to his parents' Missouri City home.
  • December 13, 23:05 - drives his vehicle on Highway 80 and passes I-35 in San Marcos.
  • December 13, 23:07 - Head south on Highway 80 entering Caldwell County.
  • December 13, 23:11 - Located in Martindale, Texas, driving further south on Highway 80.
  • December 13, 23:15 - Pass by SH130 (state highway) on Highway 80.
  • December 13, 23:24 - enters the highway to the city of Luling. The man stops using the Waze app and logs into Snapchat. His digital footprint breaks off on East Austin Street and soon after it crashes onto Salt Flat Road.
  • December 14 00:31 - found Jason's abandoned car.

The car was examined for DNA or blood traces, but nothing suspicious was found there. There is also no evidence that Jason may have met anyone in the Luling area.

According to the sheriff's office statement, Jason's family is cooperative and very helpful with the investigation, and there is currently no evidence that third parties were involved in the incident.

It's been three months since Jason's disappearance, and so far no clue has emerged. The lack of any clues and evidence in the case is worrying and raises many questions regarding this mysterious disappearance:

What caused the accident? What was he doing on that quiet, unlit Salt Flat Road? Why were his clothes strewn on the street? Why did Jason leave his valuables in the car? Why did the tracking dogs lead the searchers to the pond when a search of it revealed no sign of Jason? What happened in the less than an hour between the time when all traces were removed to the time his car was found? What happened to Jason?

BEFORE IT DISAPPEARED, IT WAS SEEN IN THE GARAGE AT THE FORMER BOY'S HOUSE. WHAT HAPPENED TO PRISMA?

Prisma Denisse Peralta Reyes, 26, was last seen on April 17, 2019. On that day, during her lunch break, the woman left her job at a car dealership and met her ex-boyfriend at the E Bar Tex Mex restaurant on North Haskell Avenue in Dallas in Texas. Prisma did not come to work anymore, she did not pick up her baby from the babysitter that day and she never returned home. Where is Prisma?

During lunch, the couple got into an argument that caused her ex-boyfriend Ryan to leave the place. After he left, Reyes stayed at the restaurant and ordered drinks for the next three hours. While at the restaurant, the woman called the babysitter of her 6-year-old son, Maria, with whom she talked for about an hour. Prisma left the restaurant after the bartender refused to serve her any further alcohol and asked her to leave the restaurant.

After leaving the restaurant, Reyes got into the car and a moment later she was involved in an accident in which, fortunately, no one was hurt, but the driver of the vehicle she collided with decided to call the police. Before the officers arrived at the scene, however, Prisma left the scene. Security cameras last registered her presence at around 6 p.m. when the woman entered the parking lot of the Olympus at Ross Apartments apartment complex on 3500 Roseland Avenue in Dallas, where Ryan lived. Ryan said he was not home at the time the woman was captured by the cameras.

The surveillance footage shows Prisma talking to someone on a cell phone, swaying and shifting from foot to foot. Between 5:49 p.m. and 6:01 p.m., she made nine short calls, five of which to her ex-boyfriend. Ryan didn't pick up any of those calls. The penultimate link was to a friend of Prisma, who said she sounded bewildered or under the influence of some intoxicating substances. During the conversation with him, she was convinced that he was talking to Ryan and asked him to give her the number of his apartment (Ryan had recently lived there and Prisma did not know his exact address). The woman's friend, hearing the condition of Prisma, was very disturbed by this fact, but as he was out of state at the time, he was unable to help her.

Shortly after 6 p.m. all traces of the woman disappear, and no cameras have registered Prisma leaving the building. She was never seen again, and she never made contact with anyone.

Prisma was to pick up her son from the babysitter at 7:30 pm. However, this did not happen, and as Reyes was very obligatory and always showed great concern for the child, the babysitter decided to report her missing to the police 2 hours later, at 21:30.

The next day, a white Jeep Wrangler from 2017 belonging to the missing person was found at the Olympus at Ross Apartments complex. The car had been parked there from the day before Prisma went to the garage of the building.

Maria claims that when she spoke to Prisma that afternoon, she seemed to be in good shape and that their conversations were on down-to-earth topics, including with work. What seemed strange to the investigators, however, was that the women had never talked for that long, and their contacts were always business and limited to Prisma's son. After all, Maria has never been linked to the disappearance of a woman.

During interviews with the missing woman's family and friends, several disturbing details came to light. It turned out that shortly before her disappearance, Prisma began to act strange and expressed anxiety for her life. The woman was convinced that someone was following her and felt so threatened that she decided to purchase a gun, which the police later discovered in her car.

Prisma's family and loved ones maintain that abandoning a child is completely unlike her, and believe that something bad must have happened to the woman. At the time of her disappearance, in addition to working in a car dealership, she was working as an assistant in a law firm and served in the National Guard.

Reyes is from Veracruz, Mexico, and became a US citizen a few years before disappearing. The woman lived with her son in Mesquite, Texas, and the city's police are investigating her. Despite the enormous efforts and commitment of the family and the authorities, no one was arrested in the case of the disappearance of Prisma Reyes and no breakthrough occurred.

"Arrival" and the unbridled power of science fiction

The best alien movie starring Amy Adams is a thoughtful reflection on science, language, and change.

The opening scenes of the new science fiction movie "Arrival" lead us to familiar territory, where we see a huge spaceship hovering above the cities of our restless planet Earth.

Soon the movie shows that the story will no longer go around famous movies about aliens. The spaceship has no weapons. Our hero is a linguist. Riddles of the cerebral plot. And the procession of subtle and intriguing ideas eventually develops into a story of deep insight and hope.

"Arrival" is the best science fiction movie of the year because it does what science fiction does best. It encourages prudent hypothesis and out-of-the-box thinking. It asks us to project our hopes and fears onto some imaginary event horizon and then look at what this will lead to. After a hectic, horrible and controversial election process, this is a movie you should see, digest and discuss later.

Warning: There will be some spoilers, but there's nothing new about them that you wouldn't see in a trailer. And I'll stay away from the central secret of the movie.

Trailer:

Amy Adams plays the role of Dr. Louise Banks - a linguist employed by the US government to communicate with strangers. Twelve spacecraft (egg-shaped, resembling giant seed pods) have landed in various countries around the world. Aliens show no signs of aggression, but on the planet different nations react differently. Many of them are defensive, trying to climb and prepare their weapons. Banks is working with mathematician Jan Donnelly (Jeremy Renner), who hopes the language of numbers will help connect with aliens. Every day, the portals of the ships open for a short time, and the landowners send their delegations inside. Directed by Denis Villeneuve, he created a minimalistic space design with lateral gravity inside the ship. It resembles a prehistoric cave where our species first experimented with language and art.

We see aliens after all, but they are cleverly obscure, which visually highlights the narrative used throughout the movie. "Arrival" is not really interested in strangers. The makers are more interested in our response to aliens. How will we communicate with others? What exactly will we choose to communicate and how will it happen?

It turns out that "Arrival" is a film about communication. "The way we speak determines how we think," says Louise, referring to fierce disagreements in linguistics. Without going into the plot, I will say that aliens give us a new kind of language and a new way of communicating. It is a language that gives meaning directly without sound or speech and is in no way related to time.

It is very enjoyable to watch an adult science fiction movie. He asks us to think and offer delicious secrets about ideograms, palindromes, game theory, and the value of the number 0.083. The movie says that providence moves in a mysterious way (Hollywood style). The video is aimed at a groan of suspicion (you may have stumbled upon it) that promises the digital age will soon be over. Our valuable devices and networks do not bring us together. On the contrary, they disconnect. We sit in public places, staring at the crumbling screens on our hands.

Despite the wealth of technology, we stop communicating. We are designed in digital versions of ourselves. We are constantly breaking up and sharing, as evidenced by endless conflicts in the world.

Such deliberate science fiction as "Arrival" can help us solve this existential dilemma. The science fiction genre gives you a fresh look at people and problems. Movies are another way to change culture and collective consciousness that goes beyond rationality. And when a movie like "Arrival" comes out, you should pay attention to it.

The secret of Wow!

 Wow! Signal shown as 6EQUJ5

Scientists from the Center for Planetary Science report that they managed to solve the mystery of Wow! Signal, captured in 1977. They believe it was a comet whose existence was simply unknown at the time.

In August 1977, a group of astronomers studying radio programs at the Ohio Observatory noticed an unusual 72-second signal. He was so strong that Jerry Eman couldn't resist and wrote Wow! (Wow!). Since then, scientists have started looking for the source. The assumptions include asteroids, exoplanets, and land interferences. Some even thought it was foreign news. The signal reached the frequency of 1420 MHz, which is hydrogen.

Last year, the first clues appeared when astronomers suggested the cause might be a hydrogen cloud that followed the comet. Especially since her movement perfectly explained why the signal was no longer visible. They decided that there were two comets present in the study area at this point: P / 2008 Y2 and 266 / P Christensen, which were not visible and uncovered at the time. This theory has been tested since November 2016. Until February 2017, when objects reappeared in the sky.

It turned out that the signal from 40 years ago corresponded to position 266 / P Christensen. Of course, they also checked three other comets and found similar results. Therefore, it is still difficult to identify a specific object, but they are sure that the source was one of the comets.

Dayton Incident - 1980. Witnesses describe bright lights in the sky

Perhaps each of us would like to see something strange in the sky and not worry about the consequences. But encounters with UFOs don't always go smoothly. These people had to pay for their own health.

The 1980 case is considered to be one of the most famous events where contact with aliens resulted in physical problems. It all started on December 29, 1980. Betty Cash decided to travel to Dayton (TX) to try some new dishes at a newly opened restaurant. Together with her, she grabbed her friend Vicky Landrum and her grandson Colby (7 years old).

They were driving a car. The road to Dayton passed through a pine forest. Around 9 PM, the trio noticed a bright glow in the sky, and then a bright object appeared. He lowered the height, regardless of the level of trees at a distance of 40 meters from the witnesses. Landrum asked to stop the car as she was worried that they would burn if they approached.

The description of the object itself differs. All Cash remembered was a bright light source that had no form at all. Colby said the UFO resembled an incredibly brilliant diamond with clear, even edges. But Landrum said she saw an oblong object with a rounded tip and a sharp base. However, all three claimed that the UFO made loud noises and that a huge burning column exploded below. The facility was very hot. Initially they wanted to turn around, but it had rained the day before and Cash suggested the car might get stuck while turning on a narrow road. They got out of the car to look around, but Colby started crying and asked to move away from the subject. As they got into the car, they realized that the metal surface was so hot that Cash had to wrap his hand in his coat to open the door.

Inside the cabin, too, began to fill with warmth. Landrum touched the dashboard and realized it had softened. Interestingly, she left the dent they saw a few weeks later.

The subject climbed higher, and the car finally moved forward. They saw him in the sky for a long time, until about 23 military helicopters appeared near the UFO and tried to stay at a distance of 1,200 meters. Witnesses were home closer to 22:00.

History could have been erased from memory if it were not for health problems. A few hours later, the trio felt weak. Colby noticed the burn on his face, Landrum suddenly began to lose hair, and strange marks appeared on his fingernails. The skin of both was blistered as in a severe burn, and the eyes ached constantly.

Betty Cash had a harder time as she suffered from severe headaches, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, headache and neck pain for four days. The scalp was covered with large blisters that poured clear fluid. Then the hair fell out. Doctors could not make a diagnosis for a long time. Two months later, breast cancer was diagnosed and mastectomy was performed. All this ended in a sharp deterioration in vision. The victims decided that the observed object belonged to the US Air Force, so he sued the US government and demanded $ 20 million in damages. The judge said the military did not have a similar item. It is surprising, however, that the judge relied solely on the testimony of experts and the military in his conclusions, refusing to meet the victims. In addition, he stubbornly ignored information about the arrival of military helicopters.

There are two theories. Ufologists believe that women are unlucky to be close to a radioactive UFO because their symptoms resemble radar injuries. Or they witnessed the secret testing of a space shuttle that had a powerful nuclear power plant. Then the USAF just hid all the data. What do you think about it

The Mandela Effect - or why do people remember what did not happen? Do some people have memories of an alternate version of Earth?

Some believe they remember when South Africa's civil rights leader, Nelson Mandela, died in prison in 1985. People mourned him, his wife gave a memorial speech. Everything was in the news. Many people remember that it happened. But it turns out that in fact Mandela was released from prison in 1990, and even led the country from 1994 to 1999, and died relatively recently, in 2013. This weird premonition of an event that technically never happened is what we call the Mandela Effect.

We owe the discovery and name of the temporal effect to Fiona Broome, who discovered in 2010 that her false memories of Mandela's death were shared by a large number of people. Broome explained such a radical discrepancy between memories and reality using the theory of the Multiverse - a hypothetical set of all possible real parallel universes, believing that collective memories are not truly false and that she and other people remembering the past were in fact in a parallel universe with a different timeline which intersected with ours in an amazing way. But how do scientists explain the Mandela effect?

After Fiona Broome discovered in 2010 that a huge number of people remember Nelson Mandela's nonexistent funeral, a lot has changed in the world. Shops suddenly started to be called differently. Some corporate logos suddenly started to look different. The names of famous dishes and sweets such as chewing gum were spelled differently. Favorite characters in the movies spoke differently, and the songs ended in a new way, not like they used to. This is because the Internet, thanks to its unique ability to bring people together, quickly introduced the Mandela Effect as a cultural trend.

One popular theory is that all these quirks happened after the 2008 Large Hadron Collider was launched at CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research in Switzerland near Geneva. It is the largest high-energy physics laboratory in the world, and its activation may have caused a split in the timeline. Of course, proponents of this theory have absolutely no evidence, but some believe that there are infinite universes closely related to ours, and we are moving from one universe to another because our timeline is in a state of continuous flow.

While traveling between universes looks attractive and is especially liked by filmmakers and science fiction writers, the Mandela Effect is difficult to explain in terms of quantum mechanics. In fact, as many scientists note, the answer lies in the complex structure and operation of human memory.

In the 1970s, extensive research was carried out at the University of California on false memories and the effects of disinformation. False memories are memories of things that we have never really experienced. The results obtained in several studies from different countries showed that the suggestion during psychoanalysis was effective in half of the respondents. But who then implements these false memories and how?

The Mandela Effect can be driven by suggestiveness or a tendency to believe what others believe to be true. Surprisingly, the mere fact that a person perceives false information can discredit the authenticity of memory already "written" in the brain. So according to experts, most of Mandela's effects are related to memory errors and social disinformation. The fact that many of the inaccuracies are trivial suggests that they are the result of selective attention or wrong conclusions.

Note that all of the above explanations do not mean that the Mandela Effect cannot be explained by the Multiverse theory. In fact, the concept of parallel universes is consistent with the work of quantum physicists. But until the existence of alternative realities that may interfere with our timeline is established beyond a reasonable doubt, psychological theories seem much more plausible.

More and more people in the world notice with amazement that what they remember does not match what they suddenly learn. This applies to many areas of life and is called the "Mandela Effect" because most mismatched memories appeared in people after Nelson Mandela's death in 2013. Back then, hundreds of thousands of people wrote on the Internet that they remembered his death in a prison in South Africa in the 1980s.

Some thought they had fallen victim to a scam when they suddenly heard on television that Nelson Mandela had "died again". Psychologists have not been able to tell where from suddenly so many people had almost the same detailed memories. Beyond the collective madness, then there was an explanation that these "false memories" were the result of some phenomenon at the quantum level. For example, jumping to a different universe than the one in which Mandela died in the 20th century and a series of charity concerts were played in his honor all over the world.

The Mandela Effect is a phenomenon related to the so-called collective memory. It happens that a great many people remember certain events not in the same way as the official history claims. Then people swear that they have seen certain things with their own eyes or that they have learned about them in schools and universities. The amazing thing is that the same convergent accounts are sometimes reported by thousands of people at the same time. It seems that the most convenient explanation would be to assume that this is a strange collective insanity.

Often the Mandela Effect also applies to geography. A surprisingly large number of people clearly remember that some countries had different shapes, sizes and even positions on the map. The best example of this is New Zealand. Some people say it is in the wrong place.

Technically, New Zealand is southeast of Australia, but there are surprisingly many people who claim to remember how they were taught that they were in the Northeast. Some also question the distance that separates Australia and New Zealand, amounting to 1900 km. Many people say New Zealand was closer to Australia, much farther south.

A similar case is with another island, Sri Lanka also known as Ceylon. It is located in the south-eastern part of India. Some people remember its location completely south, at the very bottom of the Indian Peninsula.

Plus, many people remember that the island of Cuba was much closer to Florida than Mexico, but that's not the case. Mexico is 214 km in a straight line and 228 km to Florida. Similarly with Japan, many say it was once closer to China and farther south than it is now near Russia's edge.

By far the strangest and most heavily debated story among the theorists of the Mandela Effect concerns the Norwegian Arctic Archipelago called Svalbard, which is an area under Norwegian administration. It is a large land of 60,000 km2 with a rich history dating back to the 12th century with its own culture and traditions. The problem is, for a lot of people, all of this shouldn't be there. They claim that there is an archipelago on the maps that was not there before.

But the Mandela Effect also applies to other things. There are a huge number of people who swear that the United States has 51 states, or even 52 states, instead of the current 50. Many people swear that they remember a version of the story where Puerto Rico was a state, not an associated territory with the United States.

For the followers of the Mandela Effect, it all points to some mysterious shift between different realities. This assumption is based on a concept known as the "multiverse" which proposes that there are infinite parallel universes coexisting with ours in infinite permutations. In some of these alternate dimensions the difference may be very slight, in others it may be dramatic.

The causes of the Mandela effect are unknown. It can only be a psychological phenomenon, a kind of collective hallucination, but if some of us do remember things collectively, it can also be evidence that in some physical laboratory something went wrong and we jumped into another reality without even noticing it. . Perhaps only the brains of some people have retained these other memories.

Every time we make a decision, a new part of the multiverse is born somewhere

Each time we make a decision, a different timeline appears. Every decision we make is a yes / no decision because we either do something or choose not to do it. In the quantum universe, every decision has the same meaning: so there is a reality where we chose yes and another reality where we chose no. Hence the huge Multiverse that contains all the possibilities.

A new reality can be generated by any possible quantum interaction. Some interpretations of quantum mechanics suggest that our entire universe is described by one universal wave function that continually divides and multiplies, creating a new reality with every possible quantum interaction. This is quite a bold statement. How did scientists get there? One of the earliest theories in the history of quantum mechanics is that matter has wave properties. This was first proposed by the French physicist Louis de Broglie, who argued that every subatomic particle has a wave associated with it, just as light can behave as both a particle and a wave.

Other physicists soon confirmed this radical idea, especially in experiments where electrons scatter across a thin foil before they hit their target. The method of scattering electrons was more characteristic of the wave than the particles. But then the question arose: what exactly is a matter wave? What does she look like?

Early quantum theorists such as Erwin Schrödinger believed that the particles themselves were smeared in space as a wave. He developed his famous equation describing the behavior of these waves, which is still used today. But Schrödinger's idea passed many experimental tests. For example, although an electron in flight behaved like a wave when it reached its destination, it landed as a single compact particle so it could not be physically stretched out in space.

Instead, an alternative interpretation began to gain popularity. Today we call it the Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics and it is by far the most popular among physicists. In this model, the wave function - as physicists call the wave-like property of matter - does not actually exist. Instead, it's a mathematical simplification that we use to describe the probability cloud of quantum mechanics where we can find a subatomic particle the next time we look for it.

However, the Copenhagen interpretation has several problems. As Schrödinger himself noted, it is unclear how the wave function changes from a cloud of probabilities before measurement to simply nonexistent at the time of observation. So maybe there's something more significant about the wave function. Perhaps it is as real as all particles. De Broglie was the first to propose the idea, but eventually joined the Copenhagen camp. Later physicists such as Hugh Everett re-examined the problem and came to the same conclusions.

By realizing the wave function, we solve this problem of measurement in the Copenhagen interpretation, because measurement ceases to be a super special process that destroys the wave function. Instead, what we call measurement is actually a long series of quantum particles and wave functions interacting with other quantum particles and wave functions. If you build a detector and shoot electrons at it, for example at the subatomic level, the electron won't know it's being measured. It just hits the atoms on the screen which sends an electrical signal (made up of more electrons) down the wire which interacts with the display which emits photons that hit the molecules in your eyes, and so on.

In this photo, each particle has its own wave function, and that's it. All particles and all wave functions just interact as usual, and we can use quantum mechanics tools (such as the Schrödinger equation) to predict how they will behave.

But quantum particles have a really interesting property because of their wave function. When two particles interact, they not only collide with each other; for a short time their wave functions overlap. When that happens, you can no longer have two separate wave functions. Instead, you should have one wave function that describes both particles simultaneously. When the particles move apart, they still maintain this single wave function. Physicists call this process quantum entanglement - what Albert Einstein called "ghostly action at a distance."

When we follow all the steps in the measurement, we get a series of entanglements from the overlapping wave functions. The electron becomes entangled with atoms on the screen, which become entangled with the electrons in the wire, and so on. Even the particles in our brain are entangled with the Earth, with all the light coming in and out of our planet, down to every particle in the universe entangled with every other particle in the universe. With each new entanglement, you have a single wave function that describes all the particles that are connected. So the obvious implication of an actual wave function is that there is a single wave function that describes the entire universe.

This is called the "multiverse" interpretation of quantum mechanics. It got its name when we ask what is happening in the observation process. In quantum mechanics, we never know exactly what a molecule will do - sometimes it can grow, sometimes it can fall, and so on. In this interpretation, whenever a quantum particle interacts with another quantum particle, the universal wave function breaks down into many sections, with different universes containing each of the possible outcomes.

This is how the multiverse is created. As a result of the interaction of quantum particles, numerous copies of the universe have created that repeat over and over again. Each of them is identical, except for a slight difference in some random quantum process. This means that there are multiple copies of what you are reading in this article right now, and they are all exactly the same except for tiny quantum details.

There are also difficulties with this interpretation - for example, how does this division actually occur? But it's a radical way of looking at the universe and demonstrating just how powerful the theory of quantum mechanics is - what began as a way to understand the behavior of subatomic particles can control the properties of the entire cosmos.

75 years since the Roswell incident. What are the explanations for the alleged spacecraft's crash?

On July 8, 1947, the world learned of the "flying saucer" from Roswell. When a mysterious object fell from the sky near a small town, its remains became the subject of many rumors. Especially since the army and representatives of the authorities quickly appeared on the spot. The minds fired by the space race quickly gave the answer: aliens! How was the reality?

On July 2, 1947, an unidentified object crashed in Roswell

The military quickly dealt with the matter of the mysterious remains

On July 8, 1947, an article appeared in the press that for the first time described the "flying saucer"

The first official announcement was that extraterrestrial material had been found

The army later corrected that the mysterious object was actually a weather balloon

July 2, 1947, Roswell, New Mexico. The sun disappearing behind the horizon illuminates a mysterious object in the sky. He is watched by several townspeople, including the Wilmot couple, residents of the town. In later testimony, Dan Wilmot stated that the object was "glowing" and "flew at high speed". He also described the shape using the phrase "two saucers, turned inside out." To this day, we sometimes refer to UFOs as "flying saucers". The undeniable fact that evening, however, is that the object fell to the ground.

William Brazel, a farmer, found out about it the next day and found scattered fragments of undefined, metallic material in his field. He reported the case to the local sheriff on July 6. He handed her over to the army even higher. The 509th Bomb Squadron was stationed in Roswell, which arrived at the scene, surrounded it, and launched an investigation.

On July 7, an event occurred that nobody had expected. In an official message to the press, Colonel Walter Haut made the following announcement:

"Many rumors of the flying disc materialized yesterday when the Intelligence Bureau of the 509th Air Force 8th Bomb Group was fortunate enough to intercept the disc thanks to the collaboration of one of the local farmers and the Chaves County Sheriff's Office.

The flying object landed on a ranch near Roswell last week. Without access to a telephone, the farmer kept the disk until he was able to contact the sheriff's office, who in turn notified Major Jesse A. Marcel of the 509th Bomb Group Intelligence Bureau.

Action was immediately taken and the drive was retrieved from the rancher's house. He was inspected at the Roswell Army airfield and then transferred by Major Marcel to headquarters."

It is not difficult to imagine the reaction of the media after such information. On July 8, 1947, an article appeared on the front page of the Roswell Dayli Record saying that "the RAAF has seized a flying saucer from a ranch in Roswell." The information went out into the world and soon everyone heard about the small American town.

The name of Jesse A. Marcel mentioned in the message is probably of the greatest importance to the whole "Roswell myth". It was he who led a team of soldiers on the spot and - most likely - he also formulated a press release that was made public. Jesse Marcel, without contacting any other entities, decided to investigate the matter himself and - having no practical and theoretical knowledge about the find - to give his own opinion. Perhaps he was counting on the discovery to be groundbreaking enough to open up a new career door for him or to bring fame as the one who first encountered and described the alien tracks.

Marcel willingly posed with the remnants of the mysterious object and talked about them even more willingly. He was the first to say that "this material was certainly not created on Earth". As evidence, he cited cases in which he tried to destroy it with, inter alia, lighters, and drills. The remains were neither burnt nor perforated. Moreover, Jesse Marcel repeated that the remains contained mysterious hieroglyphs, written - in his opinion - in the language of aliens.

Perhaps the information about aliens was also supposed to cover the real events. The day after the statement by the 509th Bomb Group, Brigadier General Roger Ramey held a press conference, explaining that the remains were found in a damaged weather balloon. To confirm these words, Ramey took some of the remains with him. On July 11, the army also held a special press show that featured a fully functional balloon. Comparing the photos of the Roswell remains and the balloons displayed, it is not hard not to notice the obvious similarity.

However, all indications are that these balloons were not used at that time to track changes in the weather but to detect Soviet nuclear tests. The US Army conducted these activities under the code name "Mogul". The information about it was revealed by the Americans only in 1995. Operation Mogul was aimed at listening, using supersensitive microphones placed high above the ground, for distant traces of the detonation of nuclear bombs. The story of the aliens could easily cover the subject of unusual balloon trials. The matter, however, got out of control quite quickly.

The strangest thing about Roswell is how far the story of supposedly extraterrestrial remains has come. From the story of indestructible material and "cosmic" hieroglyphs, the narrative moved fairly quickly about the bodies of aliens that were to be transported to a military base in Area 51, Nevada.

It is also not surprising that a large group of witnesses claim to have seen flying saucers and even aliens. Many people are looking for fame and fame and will not hesitate to lie about anything to achieve it. Interestingly, the first reports about spotted aliens appeared only in 1980, i.e. more than 30 years after the catastrophe.

However, the testimony of FBI agent Guy Hottel in 1950 to the then director of the agency, J. Edgar Hoover, remains a secret. The document, a copy of which is still preserved today, reads as follows:

"The Air Force investigator said three so-called flying saucers had been discovered in New Mexico. They are described as circular in shape with a raised center about 50 feet in diameter (about 15 meters). Each of them contained three human-shaped bodies, but only 3 feet tall (less than a meter), dressed in metallic clothes made of very fine fabric. Each body was wrapped in a manner that resembled the suits of test pilots.

Flying saucers were found in New Mexico, according to an informant, because the government deployed a powerful radar there that the whistleblower believes is disrupting the control systems in the saucers."

FBI spokesman Bill Carter said the note was by no means unique, and that information about aliens and Elvis Presley was frequently searched in the archives.

To this day, Roswell lives on those events, and the story of the aliens has permeated into local folklore. A town that would otherwise be unknown, today is known to people from all over the world, and some of them even come to Roswell. And although the aliens themselves are unlikely to be found there, even the McDonald's restaurant in this city has the shape of a flying saucer.

Witnesses describe strange phenomena at the Skinwalker ranch. Rumors, observations and opinions of ufologists

The mysterious and mystical Rancho Skinwalker is located in the southeast of Ballard, Utah. This area covers approximately 1.9 square meters. km of land. It continues to be interesting in scientists and ufologists as the site with the highest number of recorded paranormal phenomena. Many believe that all these cases are related to UFO activity.

The story began with the first owners who began to notice strange phenomena after the takeover. Among them were crop circles, flying saucers, bright lights in the sky, poltergeists, and mysterious night creatures. To seriously investigate these incidents, representatives of the National Institute of Science and Discovery (NIDSci) purchased the ranch.

It should be mentioned that the ranch is located in the western part of Uinta County, near the Utah Indian Reservation. The Indians consider this territory condemned and never enter the designated lands. And now let's go through the most interesting and scary facts about the Skinwalker ranch:

  1. Indians believe that mighty spirits live in ranch territory, and the territory itself was cursed many generations ago. Tribe members are not allowed to cross the border and enter Skinuoker's lands.
  2. From the 1950s. UFOs were recorded on the ranch. A huge number of reports of aliens came from local residents.
  3. In 1994, Terry and Gwen Sherman bought ranches (nicknames because the family refused to give their real names) who had moved here with their children. Upon arrival, the family found screws on all doors and windows. Outside, they found giant chains, as if someone was holding a huge animal.
  4. The family spent about two years at the ranch. During this time, they witnessed many cattle injuries, crop circles, eerie voices at night, levitation of objects, UFOs and strange animals on the spot. The family boss said he had personally seen a giant flying saucer the size of two soccer fields and huge 2-meter alien creatures.
  5. In 1996, the family left the ranch forever.

Of course, all these testimonies seem strange, so many people are skeptical of them. You never know what a frightened family might have said after hearing many Indian legends about curses. Even further, the story plunges into an even greater mystery.

In 1996, the ranch was taken over by Robert Bigelow, who is the founder of the above-mentioned National Institute of Science and Discovery. To understand you, he is also considered the founder of the private company Bigelow Aerospace.

Bigelow really believed in the history of the Sherman family, and also meticulously collected data on any clues about the activities of foreign representatives throughout the country. He did not regret buying a mystery ranch for $ 200,000, and later in 2007 the US government entrusted Bigelow with the development of a secret government project called "Extended Aviation Threat Identification Program" with a fund of $ 22 million.

Bigelow analyzed the ranch activity and indicated in reports that these phenomena could not be explained by natural causes or by the activity of military aircraft.

In 2013, interest in the ranch was renewed with the pseudo-documentary "Skinwalker Ranch," based on the stories of the Sherman family.

For some reason in 2016, the ranch was sold for $ 4.5 million to private company Adamantium Real Estate, information on the owner and activities still classified. Perhaps this is another secret project that continues to investigate strange phenomena on the ranch.

Ufologists suspect that scientists have managed to make contact with aliens who are somehow related to a certain place. Scientists believe that these are unfounded suspicions and rumors.

The story may have ended, but many people still cannot calm down and are convinced that something strange is happening at the ranch. Perhaps they are confused by the fact that the current owners (the same secret company) have closed the public road and strictly guarded the entire territory?

Why did people start reporting fewer abductions by extraterrestrial intelligence

The question of believing in aliens may seem completely innocent. But the reality is much more complicated. If one believes in the existence of extraterrestrial life (primitive or intellectual) it is related to beliefs in abductions, UFOs, and government secrets. But let's think about it. Why have there been fewer alien abduction reports with cameras on mobile phones?

UFO hunters and ufology perceive June 8, 1947, as the official date for the beginning of the mass commotion around newcomers. Simply put, this is the date of the Roswell incident. Rumors say that a group of aliens crashed on a spacecraft in Roswell, New Mexico, after which the government concealed all evidence.

But the problem is that all the clues and witness stories about this incident have no evidence whatsoever. There is no solid scientific research. In a 1975 essay, The Missile Dutchman, Isaac Asimov explained the problem by merely considering the UFO evidence as "evidence."

Isaac Asimov wrote:

“A testimony from a small number of witnesses, unsupported by any other evidence, is useless. There is not a single mystical belief that is not confirmed by numerous eyewitness accounts. "

Azimov believed that unbiased data was needed for real scientific research. Of course, fans of X-Files will say that the lack of evidence confirms the cover-up. But Azimov calls such arguments "one of the main charms of intellectual weakness."

In recent years, the phenomenon of UFO sightings and alien abduction tales have been viewed as social fashions rather than scientific news and facts. Writer Jack Womack has compiled a collection of UFO ephemeris in his book "Flying saucers 2016". He tries to catalog the beliefs of those who have been obsessed with bizarre stories.

Womack says:

“I can study tuberculosis without hurting them. I can study the Bible as an atheist. And I can research UFOs without endorsing this idea. "

But Womack came to more interesting conclusions in his work:

"Thanks to research and empirical observations, the number of UFO reports dropped significantly in the early 2000s."

The author believes that the main reason was the increase in the number of smartphones with cameras. It makes sense. The 1980s and 1990s were the peaks of UFO interest in the United States. Where is the evidence? The rumors were based on the testimony of witnesses who could not confirm their observations. Now it is enough for the smartphone to do everything in the camera. Of course, if you have work to do. In 2012, Joe Nickell and James McGaha introduced their theory of the Roswell syndrome. They believe that all these UFO stories are just a consequence of the mass attention, panic, and abundance of rumors spread by the media. They also predict that this topic will soon disappear and something else will take its place.

However, there are predictions that the topic of UFOs will come alive again. If for a long time something is considered wrong and absurd, faith in it grows with revenge. McGah compares it to "a new and more dangerous strain of the virus."

The authors argue that modern space hunters are always looking for any quirks to validate their faith, ignoring other theories, facts, and scientific explanations. Nickell and McGaha are happy to believe in the existence of the aliens and your stories. Just don't forget the next contact event to take a selfie with the alien.

The Mystery of the Tunguska Disaster - What Could Cause It?

The event of great force took place on June 30, 2008 on the Podkamienna Tunguzka river in central Siberia. Direct witnesses saw or felt its impact from miles away. However, the object did not leave any unequivocal traces, which contributed to the creation of many more or less credible theories.

The place where the event took place was tens of kilometers away from any human settlement. The closest surviving account comes from the Evenks who lived 30 km from the epicenter. The nearest settlement was located 70 km away.

It was a dry day, the beginning of a short Siberian summer. The sky was clear, only in the distance appeared a luminous tube-shaped object (others spoke of a sphere) and a small cloud visible in the same direction. The object was in the sky for about 10 minutes. As it neared the forest, it became less and less clear. Black smoke appeared before it touched the ground. Eventually, it hit the woods and there was a thudding or firing noise (but not lightning) all around. Buildings shook. Tongues of fire burst from the cloud.

The cloud appears only in some descriptions. Most saw a fireball or a cylinder-shaped object. The roar of many compared to shots from large-caliber cannons. Some also added that the earth was shaking. Some windows within 200 km of the glass cracked. You can guess how the inhabitants of the Siberian villages of the early 20th century reacted to such an unusual event. Many believed it was the end of the world.

At first glance, it seems obvious that this is a particularly large meteorite. However, there are many details that put this most popular theory into question.

The main problem was the relationships themselves. What the newspapers reported usually rationalized the event as a meteorite strike. Some even described that the local people observed the celestial body after the fall. At least some of these accounts are questionable. More systematic research began in the 1920's. The information collected did not indicate a usual large meteorite impact:

  1. Anomalies in the sky had appeared a few days earlier and were observable even in the British Isles,
  2. The celestial body seen by the witnesses did not have a characteristic smoky tail. It is described as a spherical or cylindrical object - white, yellow or red,
  3. The rainbow effect was visible behind the falling object,
  4. The body exploded at a force of 40 to 50 megatons (about 3,000 times greater than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima almost 40 years later). The Evenks closest described this moment as the appearance of a second sun - reminiscent of an atomic explosion,

These and other details of the event raise doubts about the falling meteorite theory, even if it were very large and had a specific composition. (cf. Rubstov V.V., 2009: pp. 2-3) The explosion was explained by the air resistance that caused the celestial body to explode before it touched the ground. However, there were other unexplained remnants.

The lack of interest of scientists right after the event is astonishing. The content was mostly broadcast by local newspapers. Some journalists have added fantastic stories of their own. For example, Alexander Adrianov in "Life of Siberia" of July 2 described the story of a train that stopped in front of the Filimonovo station. Initially, the passengers could not get close to the meteorite because it was too hot. When it cooled down, it was examined in more detail by local residents. However, all indications are that Adrianov invented at least half of the stories. Based on this account, later scientists tried to find the meteorite in question.

The main researcher was Leonid Kulik, a member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He went to the vicinity of the event for the first time in 1921. The initially collected reports clearly showed that it must have been an iron meteorite. He designated a large area with hectares of fallen trees as the site of the collapse of the facility. The problem with Kulik was that he was a meteorite specialist. The stories convinced him that this was what he was dealing with, and he considered every anomaly in the area to be remnants of an impact by a cosmic object of this type. So much so that he mistook thermocars (landforms left over from melted ice) for craters after a meteorite impact.

Despite the efforts of this and other scientists, no traces of the meteorite itself or its fragments were found. The 1927 expedition in general found that at the true epicenter of the impact the forest was still standing and there was no post-impact crater.

It became clear that the event could not be easily explained. So various theories began to emerge. Not all strictly scientific.

In the 1930s, the most popular theory was that the destruction must have been caused by a comet that exploded on the Podkamienna Tunguzka River. The comet rapidly heated up as it entered the atmosphere, causing an explosion. As it was composed of ice, it evaporated during the explosion and left no traces of its presence. However, the force of the blast was capable of knocking down the forest, and the melting ice as it passed through the atmosphere caused a glow - seen in Europe and Asia. Melting ice water would even confirm the observed rainbow effect around a falling object. This theory is one of the acceptable and remains in the pool of possible explanations to this day.

In 1946, a Soviet science-fiction writer, Alexander Kazanceev (not to be confused with an émigré activist of the same name), gave a completely different hypothesis. Perhaps the object that crashed over central Siberia was an alien ship? After World War II, it was not only in the United States that people became interested in UFOs. It is no coincidence that it was then that the hypothesis was created, which started a long-term discussion among people interested - professionally or as amateurs - in the Tunguska catastrophe.

Kazanceev's hypothesis was not only the impetus to investigate more closely what actually happened over central Siberia. She became an inspiration for many science fiction authors. In this way, Podkamienn Tunguzka became something like the Soviet counterpart of Roswell - the alleged site of an alien ship crash in New Mexico. And even the opposite - the fame of the Tunguska crash as a UFO landing site already had many supporters, when a similar role began to be assigned to its American counterpart.

It is worth adding that at that time Soviet astronomers insisted on the version with the meteorite. They even stated that the crater was indeed formed, but since no one visited the site for the first 12 years, it was flooded and overgrown with marshy vegetation. The comet theory still had its support. For example, Kirill Florensky, the leading geochemist of research expeditions, stated unequivocally that the comet is the ultimate and best solution to the Tunguska mystery. The year was 1961, and neither his position nor anything else would be the "final" for the next few decades. To this day, it is not, but the theories accepted today have introduced another suspect.

It was not actually a huge meteorite, but microscopic iron fragments contained in the rocks at the scene. It was not until 2013 that Ukrainian scientists discovered them, when they examined the rocks that had been collected for a long time. This time under an electron microscope. It has been found that they may be the remains of a large object that broke into tiny pieces during a massive explosion. So the meteorite that Leonid Kulik had been looking for so strenuously almost a century earlier could have been there all the time. The technology of that time simply did not allow him to be noticed.

This research is accepted in many official sources as the best and currently most official explanation for the whole event. This does not mean that there are no others.

Interesting, if a bit chilling, is one of the latest hypotheses proposed by researchers from the University of Krasnoyarsk in 2020. Briefly, they suggest the asteroid bouncing off the earth's surface (which caused the phenomena described above) and then its return to solar orbit.

This hypothesis was proposed as part of research into the possible reaction of similar celestial bodies to the earth's surface.

The asteroid is not a small meteorite, but a large piece of celestial body. Quite large from the point of view of tiny earthlings, anyway. If such a body did collide with our planet, it would cause much worse damage than overturning a piece of Siberian forest and some accompanying special effects. However, a team of Russian scientists considered the possibility of "safe" entry of such an object into our atmosphere.

The Tunguska disaster may be one of those mysteries that will never be fully solved. Nevertheless, these and other unusual phenomena make us discover new secrets of the Earth and the Universe.

Effective and easy weight loss? How to lose weight without side effects?

You can find information on the web about various weight loss diets that are purportedly effective. Most of these diets, however, complicate life rather than simplify it. Moreover, some of them may turn out to be disgusting and very dangerous. There are a lot of inventors in the weight loss business and new slimming diets appear regularly, but - let's think - even when they weren't there yet, people were also able to lose weight.

So, are you struggling with losing weight despite eating healthy and exercising? Don't worry - you are not the only one with such a problem! Lots of people have a hard time reaching their ideal weight, and it can be really frustrating.

There are many reasons why people have a hard time losing weight. It can be caused by metabolic problems, food allergies, or even compulsive eating. Unfortunately, the truth is that there is no one-size-fits-all solution for this. It's important to find what works best for each of us, and this can take a lot of unsuccessful attempts and a lot of patience.

In this article, we'll cover some of the common causes that make it harder to lose weight. We will also present some possible solutions to this problem.

  1. Why can't I lose weight?
  2. why can't I lose weight
  3. does losing weight have to be that hard?
  4. What should I do to achieve my ideal weight?

The above questions keep many people awake at night! If you are one of them, you should read this article carefully and completely. For starters, it's important to consider why you want to lose weight. Do you feel bad about your body? Or maybe you want to improve your health? Perhaps you want more energy or just want to look better.

In fact, everyone may have slightly different reasons why they would like to lose some extra pounds. You need to be strong-willed and motivated to stick to dietary advice and exercise regularly in the long run. If you feel that your motivation is weakening for some reason, it is worth looking for support from close people or specialists.

Does losing weight have to be difficult?

It's no secret that following certain diets can be quite difficult. All these restrictions, all that willpower it takes to say no to your favorite foods .... But is it really necessary to make the diet so tiring? Certainly not. In fact, there are many ways to make your diet a little easier - and a lot more enjoyable. Here are some tips:

  • find a diet that fits your lifestyle. If you're always on the move, choose a diet that doesn't involve too much cooking. If you love cooking, choose a diet that contains lots of interesting recipes;
  • find a friend or family member who is also trying to lose weight. Support each other and motivate each other, in good times as well as in bad times, to stay on the right track;
  • make sure you are consuming enough protein and fiber. Both of these nutrients help keep you feeling full, which can help you resist temptation;
  • chill out with your diet every now and then! If you stick to your diet all the time, you will eventually break down and eat all your favorite foods again. It's okay to indulge yourself once in a while - just make sure you don't do it on a regular basis.

The Best Way To Lose Weight - Does Such A Thing Exist?

Do you want to know a proven way to lose weight? In fact, it's not that complicated! You need to eat healthy foods and exercise regularly. It couldn't be easier. You don't have to follow complicated diets or spend many hours in the gym every day. It is enough to exercise for 30 minutes several times a week and eat half of what you ate while not on a weight loss diet to see the results soon.

How to achieve and maintain your ideal body weight?

Oftentimes, you eat really little and exercise regularly, but the weight is still. Losing weight seems like a simple abstraction. Why is this happening? Well, it may be that you have forgotten something. Sometimes it is a small detail. Diet and training are essential for losing weight, but they're not the only things you need to focus on. You also need to make sure you stay consistent and conscientious in your actions. This means choosing a diet and training plan that you can stick to in the long term. Losing weight takes time and it will never look like you will achieve the results you want overnight or within a few days. It is simply impossible! However, if you diligently and patiently stick to all the points set at the beginning, you will achieve spectacular results over time. Everything takes time and patience!

Why can't I lose weight for nothing?

If you are really struggling to lose weight, it is worth a thorough examination to exclude possible health problems that could contribute to weight gain. Either way, strict adherence to the following rules should prove helpful in almost any situation.

Avoid using weird diets

I once read an article about weird weight loss methods based on eating blemishes, including ants and other weirdness. You can even buy giant ants for weight loss online, which I really don't recommend to anyone! It is true that a human diet should be primarily varied and based on unprocessed or least processed products, but eating live ants or other insects is a slight exaggeration for me. Perhaps it has its merits, but firstly it's disgusting and secondly I feel sorry for these tiny and defenseless creatures. After all, in order to satisfy his hunger, a person would have to eat thousands of ants a day!

Have you been wanting to lose weight for a long time, but no resolution works? Your diet works and you lose weight, but shortly after the lost kilograms come back to you? Or maybe you just can't stop yourself from overloading yourself with anything and long-term any approach to losing weight fails? There are many ways to lose weight, but few of them are compatible with the effectiveness and safety of use. The creators of various diets sometimes go too far with their ideas, which often pose a serious threat to the health of unfortunates experimenting with such solutions. Thank such diets in advance!

Understand and accept the laws of physics

Many people around the world associate slimming with hard work. In fact, the process may be completely different. The human body needs a constant supply of energy to function properly. Where is this energy going to come from? Although there are supposed to be people in the world who feed on air or light, such skills are not enjoyed by the average person who must eat in order to live. The energy necessary for life is contained in the food we eat every day. How much energy we need depends on many factors, such as age, gender, lifestyle, and the metabolic characteristics of our body. If we eat more than we need, energy is stored in our bodies in the form of fat, which is basically fat. However, when we provide less energy than we need, we simply start to lose weight. There are no miracles here. The laws of physics cannot be deceived. To start losing weight, you only need to consume fewer calories! This, of course, applies to people who do not suffer from diseases that may hinder the process of metabolism and weight loss itself!

Assuming you are a 30-year-old female, your height is 170 cm and your current weight is 90 Kg (so you are quite overweight and want to lose weight), it turns out that in order to maintain your current weight you need to eat energy-rich food every day approximately 1700 Kcal. Assuming you aren't increasing or limiting your daily physical activity significantly, let's focus on the calorie intake variable. If anything starts to change here, of course, of course, it will affect your body weight. In practice, this means that if you consume more calories each day than the value mentioned above, you will start to gain weight. Conversely, by reducing your daily calories, you have to start losing weight, and there are no miracles - of course, as long as you do not suffer from diseases that hinder the weight loss process! In this case, if you stick to your decisions and really start to eat less, you can additionally think about speeding up the entire weight loss process with a suitable dietary supplement that accelerates fat burning. But remember that this only makes sense if you stick to your resolutions and really limit the amount of food you eat! Otherwise, there is no point in using this type of product, which is by no means the cheapest, and is only associated with unnecessary costs and a waste of time.

Detoxify the body

Losing weight does not have to be difficult or complicated. The human body is constantly working to cleanse itself of various types of toxins. However, it is very hard work and you should support your own body in this difficult task. How? First of all, by minimizing the absorption of poisons, which are not only part of some foods, but are found practically everywhere - even in the air, which we inhale every day. Unfortunately, overnight, we will not clean the air that is necessary for our life, but it is worth at least to try to keep these toxins in our bodies as little as possible in the meantime. How to do it? At the beginning, it is enough to eliminate or limit unnecessary stimulants and some harmful foods.

What foods contain the worst poisons for us, and what is the relationship between these poisons and gaining weight? Poisonous foods include, inter alia, products containing health-hazardous preservatives, which in the human body have long-term devastating health effects. Preservatives contained in some foods put strain on human internal organs, mainly kidneys and liver, which have to work excessively in order to expel this stuff from the body, at least partially. Eating junk food that is hazardous to your health should be avoided at all costs, where you can enjoy the lowest-quality food, at the cost of gradual loss of not only your condition but also your health. It is also worth minimizing the consumption of meat, or at least meat products, which often contain a lot of toxins. No wonder - it is a carcass that needs to be preserved somehow with dangerous chemicals. Long-term eating of foods that contain preservatives leads to a gradual weakening of the organs involved in the cleansing process of the body, which means a gradual deterioration of metabolic functions. The slower the metabolism, the less efficient use and combustion of energy provided with food, and thus the greater the tendency to gain weight. Before buying food products that may contain chemicals in addition to food, it is worth carefully checking their composition. If you value your health, be sure to avoid consuming products that can completely destroy it!

It is similar to stimulants. Let us take the example of tobacco smoking. Many people who want to lose weight use cigarettes to refrain from eating. Nothing could be more wrong! Smoking poisons the body, and overloads the work of internal organs, leading to the deterioration of metabolic functions, which generally results in excessive accumulation of fat.

Don't give up on carbohydrates

Does losing weight involve completely giving up carbohydrates? Avoiding carbohydrates altogether can gradually ruin your health. They are necessary for a human being to function properly. From carbohydrates, the body synthesizes glucose, which is the only source of energy for the human brain. For this reason, people who completely exclude carbohydrates from their diets are overly irritable and have trouble concentrating. Bearing in mind the need to consume carbohydrates, it is worth remembering to eat products that contain complex, unrefined carbohydrates, in the form in which they occur naturally in nature. Examples of such products are whole grain bread, raw rice, groats, whole grain flour, and products made of whole grain flour. Foods rich in crude carbohydrates are high in fiber, vitamins, and minerals. Dietary fiber is very important, especially for people who care about their condition and figure. The opposite of wholegrain, unrefined food products is products rich in purified carbohydrates, i.e. those that, due to production processes, have been deprived of dietary fiber and other important ingredients that they originally contained. Examples of refined carbohydrate-rich foods are refined sugar, white flour, white flour products, white rice, some cakes and pasta, most sweets, cookies, wafers, etc.

Regular consumption of large amounts of purified carbohydrates not only leads to obesity but also increases the risk of developing diabetes. After consuming foods rich in refined carbohydrates, the sugar level in the body rises rapidly, and the pancreas has to cope with it by producing large amounts of insulin. The risk of developing diabetes becomes very great.

Eat smaller portions but eat more often

Until recently, nutritionists recommended eating three meals a day, i.e. a classic breakfast, lunch, and dinner. However, such a rule has been superseded by the latest trends in healthy eating, according to which you need to eat four to even nine meals a day! This is, of course, about small portions of healthy and easily digestible food. Frequent consumption of small amounts of food improves metabolism, lowers blood pressure, and stabilizes the sugar level in the body. It is the best solution for those who intend to lose weight in an effective and safe way for health. A prerequisite for the health benefits of this eating cycle, however, is that the food you eat is healthy, i.e. free from preservatives and refined carbohydrates, preferably not fried or processed too much. It is also important that eating takes place at strictly defined times. So the rule is in short: often, little, regularly, and healthy.

Slimming and the pace of eating

If losing weight is your goal, remember to eat slowly! The food you eat should be chewed thoroughly and repeatedly, because the first stage of digestion takes place in the mouth under the influence of digestive enzymes contained in saliva, such as analyze. Human saliva has several important functions, one of which is helping the digestive process. Foods swallowed in a hurry, without thorough chewing, are more difficult to digest, and thus the organs of the digestive system are exposed to the excessive effort, which in turn may worsen the metabolic efficiency of the entire body and lead to obesity. Besides, apart from the digestive function of saliva, rushing to eat alone can cause various types of digestive system dysfunctions, which can also contribute to obesity.

Losing weight - Start moving or move more!

Regular exercise is the basis for the proper functioning of the human body. Physical exercise improves metabolic functions, which means better metabolism. An important benefit of exercise is, of course, faster fat burning by the body, and thus, losing weight or maintaining the ideal weight. Regular training also causes the levels of endorphins in the body to increase significantly, which improves mood and reduces appetite in people with excessive appetite. People who exercise regularly and properly not only have a perfect figure, but also have better aerobic fitness, more flexible blood vessels, stronger bones, and better concentration than people who do not do sports. All in all, training brings many benefits that people who do not exercise can only dream of. However, it should be remembered that people who have not practiced sports before, should approach the exercises very gradually and after consulting a doctor. Exercises should take place regularly and be tailored to individual abilities. If we start exercising, we have to do it gradually, but regularly, e.g. 3-4 times a week. Training once a week can bring more health problems than benefits because it is a kind of a shock to the body of the exercising person.

Use only proven dietary supplements

The mass media is full of advertisements for dietary supplements that allegedly facilitate weight loss. In fact, most of these products do not work at all. Some of them contain ingredients that can seriously harm your health. On the other hand, in many difficult cases, some dietary supplements can really be helpful. Unfortunately, the dietary supplement itself will not help us if we do not stick to the above-mentioned. rules. Which product to choose and what is worth paying attention to? Well, first of all, a dietary supplement that is to help us lose weight must not contain dangerous substances. Unfortunately, a product that contains proven and selected ingredients will never be extremely cheap. Everything that is good and effective also comes with a price. Bearing in mind what has been explained above, we have prepared a list of recommended supplements supporting fat burning especially for our readers.
