Active lifestyle - how to take care of yourself?

More and more people are interested in an active lifestyle. Regular training and a large amount of spontaneous movement have a very good effect on our physical and mental health. However, it is worth remembering that every active person must take care of adequate rest, which will protect them from overtraining.

From year to year, studies show that more and more people struggle with insomnia. Sleep problems are often only due to our bad choices and habits. Before we go to bed, we can spend up to several hours browsing the web, which ultimately makes our sleep time very short. Eventually, the body gets used to a given system of functioning and after some time we have a problem with falling asleep, even when we actually feel very tired.

It is assumed that an adult should sleep about 7-8 hours. However, many people do not follow medical recommendations, especially adolescents. It should be emphasized that it is not only the length of sleep that matters but also what we sleep on. Choosing a comfortable and safe mattress is a very important issue, especially for active people. Athletes should not save on a mattress and invest in high-quality products. Hybrid mattresses, which combine the best features of spring and foam mattresses, are currently very popular.

Active people perform not only traditional home duties on a daily basis, but also devote their time and energy to sports training. Physical activity is very healthy, but it often results in injuries and other injuries. Moreover, many people do not realize that it is necessary to exercise moderation, as overtraining is easily achieved and its effects are very unpleasant and usually long-lasting.

Each athlete must properly plan training days and the time devoted to recovery. Increasingly, it is emphasized that muscle growth does not occur during training but during rest. Tired muscles and joints need time to relax so that you can do your best during the next training session.

It is worth noting that athletes often struggle with sleep problems. They appear especially in people who train in the evening hours. In such a situation, it is good to stock up on supplements that contain melatonin. Melatonin helps you fall asleep, improves the quality of sleep, and also extends the duration of deep sleep. Drinking herbal infusions has also been found to be an effective way to improve sleep.

Everyone knows that it is much better to sleep on a comfortable bed than on a living room sofa. A mattress that is properly adjusted to our needs may automatically make us feel sleepy because we will feel extremely comfortable thanks to it. The mentioned hybrid mattresses are especially recommended for athletes. This product is the perfect solution for everyone. It is characterized by high elasticity, flexibility, and a perfect fit of the mattress shape to the spine. This type of mattress definitely facilitates muscle regeneration.

Depression - what are the symptoms? Types of depression

Depression is a disease that affects various social groups, regardless of age and gender. Of course, the tendency to become depressed depends on various factors, both genetic and environmental, as well as personality. It is worth knowing that depression is not a short-term sadness and depression that lasts several days, but a serious illness that needs to be treated.

Depression is a medical condition where you feel unwell for a long time that is not necessarily caused by specific events. Depression cannot be equated with momentary despondency or grief after the loss of a loved one. Unfortunately, depression interferes with everyday functioning, and causes excessive sadness, discouragement, and a sense of doom to failure. Currently, the problem of depression is an increasingly common disorder in societies. Worldwide, 350 million suffer from the disease, but the statistics may be underestimated as many people do not go to the doctor and try to solve the problem.

The symptoms of depression are not the same in every person but depend on various factors. However, there are a few basic symptoms of depression:

  • sadness, depression, discouragement,
  • loss of interest in everyday activities, life, activities,

  • difficulties in falling asleep and staying asleep, most often a person wakes up between 3 and 5 am and sometimes cannot fall asleep,
  • decreased appetite, sometimes losing weight,
  • a significant decrease in libido, both in women and men.

Usually, patients with depression feel the worst in the morning and by the afternoon and improve in the afternoon and evening. Sometimes, however, there are no diurnal mood swings. In addition, severely depressed people may experience physical symptoms, thoughts of suicide, and effects related to self-harm. Unfortunately, patients sometimes speak out loud about the fact that they will kill themselves, for example by taking a large number of sleeping pills or painkillers.

There are many types of depression and they differ in terms of cause, symptoms, as well as duration, and treatment methods. The most important types of depression include:

  • seasonal depression, which intensifies in autumn and winter due to the lack of sunlight and occurs mainly in cold countries,
  • long-term depression, for example over two years
  • recurrent depression that comes back from time to time
  • postpartum depression, occurring in women during the puerperium,
  • psychotic and delusional depression, i.e. a disease in which there are also hallucinations and delusions.

Additionally, one can speak of depression in the elderly as a disease that occurs after the loss of a loved one. Sometimes, some individuals experience masked depression that does not produce the usual symptoms but develops other disorders such as anorexia or alcoholism.

Depression affects people of all ages, including children, adolescents, and seniors. However, this disease is most often diagnosed in people between the ages of 20 and 40. If symptoms of depression appear, it is necessary to contact a psychologist, psychotherapist, or psychiatrist.

How to cleanse the body of toxins?

The modern world is full of all kinds of pollution. We inhale them with exhaust gases in the air and consume them with processed foods, drugs, supplements, and stimulants. Even cheaper cosmetics or clothes can contain small doses of poisons that penetrate the skin. Therefore, detoxification of the body is an important procedure that helps you enjoy your health and fitness for a long time. Below are five ways to detox your body.

To know if it will be necessary to remove toxins, we must check whether we really have an excess of them in the body. Of course, a healthy diet will be useful even if we are okay. However, it is worth knowing if we have anything to worry about, or if detoxification will only be a preventive measure. Here are the symptoms that may indicate an excess of toxins in your body:

Poor immunity - Do you have a frequent runny nose and catch a cold? Can't heal your sinuses even though you are taking different medications? This may mean that the poisoned body cannot defend itself against germs. A decline in immunity is a signal that something is wrong with the immune system.

Skin problems - Acne, dry skin, or hypersensitivity to minor irritations. The body apparently cannot clean itself naturally and will need your cooperation.

Bad smell from the mouth - A healthy puff in a healthy body, and a sick one in a sick body? Oh well. Bad breath, bad smells from feet, and sweat are all signs of intoxication. It's best not to think any longer and start the cleansing process.

Abdominal pain - and more specifically stomach pain, constipation, and an enlarged liver are evidence of toxins that linger in the digestive system.

Headaches and frequent urination may also be a sign that the body cannot cleanse itself effectively. If we have a problem with the liver and kidneys, it is a sign that we need to act immediately.

A healthy body is able to cleanse itself of toxins. In fact, cleansing diets also take advantage of this ability. Before we move on to the topic of diet and how to cleanse the body of toxins, let's pay attention to the body's natural cleansing powers.

The body builds up toxins and dead cells that make up the pus. A healthy body excretes them in several ways. Sweating is one of them. That is why dermatologists pay attention to the patency of the pores of the skin through which the poison comes out of us.

The second important way to excrete toxins is to urinate and defecate. Without going into details, it can be said that our body filters solid and liquid substances, what needs to be absorbed in the cells and allocated to the building blocks of tissues, and the rest is excreted in what form?

When there is an excessive accumulation of toxins, we get a runny nose and we may feel an obstruction in the sinuses. A runny nose is a normal cleansing process and if it passes quickly, we shouldn't worry too much.

However, when we have the aforementioned symptoms, it is worth helping the body and starting to clean it at home. Below we will tell you exactly what to cleanse the body and how to take care of it.

Cleansing the body does not have to be particularly difficult. It requires self-control rather than any special measures and treatments. Here are the top five ways to detoxify your body and get back into shape:

Hunger - During the fasting period, we really do not provide our body with anything but water. Such detoxification can take two to three days. Fasting should not be carried out by people weakened after illness, with liver and pancreatic diseases, or with diabetes. If you are not sure if you can join, it is best to ask your GP.

Juice Diet - Another home way to detoxify your body is through a juice-based diet. For one to two weeks, we drink beetroot, sauerkraut, or carrot juices. The daily dose is at least half a glass 3 times a day. Of course, it's best if we can prepare such juices at home, but you can also use the buyers. During the diet, we eat normally, only avoid unhealthy products and sweets.

One-sided diet - for two to three days we eat only one type of product and wash it down with water. Classic products in a one-sided diet include apples, millet, cabbage, beets, and other vegetables. If we want to effectively use the diet, it is better not to use exotic fruits, because there is a greater chance that they contain a high concentration of toxins than pesticides and wax substances. Apples from the market, and even better from your own orchard, are the optimal solution.

Vegetables and Herbs - A variant of the one-sided diet is a more varied diet based mainly on vegetables and herbs. Herbal teas perfectly support the removal of toxins, and vegetables enhance the effect.

Green cocktails - when asked what to cleanse the body, probably the best answer is "cocktails!". Smoothie sets containing green vegetables, lemon juice, ginger, and sometimes an apple and a banana, are a great way to get rid of toxins in a pleasant and quick way. The cocktail diet should last up to 10 days. It is a fashionable and willingly chosen home method of cleansing the body.

Although the best drugs are the natural ones, it is worth knowing what supplements you will use to help detox your body. We immediately point out that taking too much medication is dangerous and causes the accumulation of toxins itself. Let's use only those that we really need for effective detoxification.

If we want to use synthetic agents, it is best to choose drugs that cleanse a specific organ - e.g. kidneys or liver. Possibly acting comprehensively. However, detoxifying the liver is usually key to detoxifying the body.

When it comes to medications for the liver, you can use herbal extracts of artichoke, St. John's wort, and dandelion. Nettle extracts are the best for removing toxins from the kidneys. A popularly used kidney drug is photolysis. Its use must be consulted with a doctor. If you do not know what to cleanse the body, you better not try to start with medications.

Cleansing diets should not be used for more than a few days to several weeks. Otherwise, we are threatened with deficiencies in basic vitamins and microelements. However, you can make sure that the body is not overloaded with toxins. Here are some tips on how to stay healthy naturally once you've finished detoxing your body.

First of all, avoid highly processed foods. Since we know how to cleanse the body of toxins, we also know that sweets, chips, and salty sticks are our worst enemies. It is also worth giving up too much-fried food and excessive use of salt. Green smoothies can be used not only during the diet but throughout the year. Especially in the fall. It is worth drinking plenty of water. This ensures the proper functioning of the kidneys. Water always helps to excrete toxins.

An organism equipped with vitamins and microelements and not burdened with unhealthy food should naturally cope with all poisons. A healthy lifestyle, as well as not overloading the body with stress and excessive work, will additionally support the cleansing process.

How to motivate yourself to lose weight and diet?

How often have you tried to motivate yourself to lose weight? Losing weight is not such an easy process, which you can mobilize "on the go". In order to start losing weight, it is important to have the right motivation to lose weight - without it, it's hard to get… any results! How to motivate yourself to lose weight in an effective way?

Do you have a special weakness for something? We will agree that everyone is for something… they love it. So before you start fighting with your body, it's worth allowing yourself to eat your favorite meal ceremonially before starting it. It is worth celebrating this moment - because you will not eat this type of unhealthy food for a long time. Become aware that this is the last time you eat, for example, your beloved chocolate or ice cream. Later, you will have to move on to a diet and a new eating plan - a healthy plan!

You can celebrate the "moment of transition" together with a loved one who will be an assistant during the diet. How to motivate yourself to a diet? Well, just in the company of such a person! No inspiration will be as powerful as the support of a loved one. Thanks to a supporting person, you can acquire much more energy to act - being aware that someone will accompany us on this hard path.

It is also worth imagining your success. However, try to think about what will happen after you reach your goal. This is a great motivation to lose weight! Imagine how great you will feel, how others will be jealous of your success, and what clothes you will wear. Only pluses, right? Be sure to find yourself a new activity - one that will distract you from snacking. Ideally, it should be related ... not to the kitchen! Also, constantly seek information on how to still mobilize. You need to know how to deal with emerging difficulties and where to seek advice when suddenly your motivation… weakens!

Do you have a properly prepared plan for both diet and exercise? So you will have an idea of the effects that you can achieve in a given time. So you can plan some small… moments of celebration! If, for example, after a month of exercise and diet, which has not been disturbed even once by temptations, you managed to lose, for example, 4 kilograms - it will have to be… celebrated! Let it be going to the cinema, buying a new piece of clothing, visiting a hairdresser, bubble bath, or visiting a solarium. Anything that gives you "healthy pleasure."

The changes you will make in your life cannot be sudden. You have to assimilate them and learn them slowly - otherwise, success may ... fade away. Do eating habits require a big change? So don't feel like entering them all at once! A sudden change will only discourage you from being successful. It's definitely better to do it ... slowly.

If you are already on your way to losing weight, it will be worthwhile… to record it! Sometimes it is difficult to see the results without writing down results. It will be worth keeping something like a progress journal! Make sure you keep track of your weight and take a picture every few days - the first before you start dieting. These are effective inspirations - looking at yourself, especially changing ones. In a moment of doubt, you will look at the photos and notes and see that you are going ... the right path!

You also need to get used to the new way of life. A change in nutrition is often associated with completely different changes - including ... thinking. Nuts, yogurts, fruits, vegetables - you have to learn to "read" healthy foods. Spend more time in stores and don't buy whatever you can get your hands on. Read the ingredients and eat only high-quality food. Say "no!" To the extra food. Food awareness is important.

Are you wondering how to motivate yourself to lose weight? Well, probably the most important thing will be… changing what is "sitting" in your head. You have to believe that you will lose excess pounds. With a positive thought in your head, it will certainly be easier to lose weight. In addition, you should set yourself realistic goals. You need to know more or less the deadline by which you want to achieve a given goal. Is it too big? So divide it into ... smaller!

Regularity and the elimination of all temptations will also be important. It also has to do with our thinking. Instead of thinking "how good this is!", Think to yourself, "this is… unhealthy!" You can't make any excuses - it's convenient, but it's not effective. Don't you feel like exercising? Or maybe you want to snack on a movie? Eliminate the obstacles! It's all just in your head! And this is where the hardest fight must be undertaken.

So, never give up! Don't be fooled by negative thoughts and replace them with only positive ones. If something doesn't go according to plan - don't get discouraged! Remember that the goal is really the right one. Think to yourself that if you are able to mobilize and do not give up ... you will surely achieve success!

Before the Egyptians started building pyramids

This time I would like to go back to the time before the pyramids were built in Egypt. About 1000 years before the Cheops pyramid was built in the area of today's Kujawy, the funnel-shaped culture was formed, the first one that not only used what was given by the surrounding nature but learned to transform nature so that it could better meet their needs. It was an indigenous agricultural culture belonging to the Stone Age. They inhabited practically the entire area of today's Poland. Although it was a settled culture, from time to time they moved their headquarters to another place. They could cultivate both sandy and fertile loess lands. They lived in small multi-family settlements of several or a dozen or so families. The houses were built on piles driven into the ground, on which the roofs were supported, and the walls were light, made of branches sealed with clay.

They grew several types of wheat, barley, and oats. Plants were grown for economic purposes, such as example, linen from which fabrics were woven, and for healing magic, such as poppy seeds. For the storage of the products of this plant, special vessels with a macaque-shaped orifice were used. The magical meaning of this plant can be proved by the fact that such vessels are found in tombs. They were engaged in breeding cattle, there were two species, large cattle from aurochs and smaller short-horned cattle. Both of these species were smaller than the cows we know today. Pigs were another farm animal. Goats and sheep complete the list of farm animals. People were also accompanied by dogs, but the domestication of this animal took place already in the Paleolithic and these animals were supported by humans in hunting. Hunting was also a certain extension of the meat diet, but for these people, it was not the basis of food.

An invention that allowed them to expand their farmland was the plow and harnessing castrated bulls to it. Using the strength of animals for training purposes enabled them to transport heavy elements (e.g. stones), thanks to which the oldest monuments of building culture in our land, tombs, and earth, and stone temples called megaliths could be created. The so-called Kuyavian megaliths. These were earth embankments, even more than 100 m long, with enormous stones on the sides, in the front, higher part there was a "chapel", and behind it, under the layer of earth, the body of one or more people significant enough for a given group that the society for him it undertook such extensive construction work. An interesting fact may be the tomb no. 5 Wietrzychowice, where 2 bodies were placed, about 50 and about 35 years old man, the skull of the younger bore the signs of an effective trepanation with traces of bone tissue reconstruction.

The chapels in the front part with the entrance marked with the missing stone of the casing had to play important sacred roles, as they were kept in good technical condition, renovated, and rebuilt for a longer period of time (100-200 years). Thus, these buildings, apart from the function of a tomb, an important person, also performed a sacred function. An additional function indicated by archaeologists could be a defensive function, intended to indicate to wandering groups that there lives a well-organized community that is able to defend its lands and creates a magical psychological line, because in the old beliefs the magical influence of a given place, a given building had a great psychological impact.

Who were these people genetically?

I am not aware of any studies that would show the presence of the R1a haplogroup considered to be Slavic, rather they should be assigned to the R1b haplogroup previously noted in our lands, known as the Celtic haplogroup. The Slavic haplogroup, namely R1a-M417, was documented in Kujawy in a slightly later dated (3100-2600 BCE), spherical amphora culture, also in agriculture. Kujawy is indicated as the place where the first settlement site may arise after the arrival of the R1a-M417 haplogroup mutation from Asia. The emergence of this mutation, by genetic methods, is estimated at 4000 BC.

Solar cult, an ancient tradition that still accompanies humanity

Virtually all cultures throughout history have recognized the power of the sun. People instinctively felt that without the Sun there would be no life and respect for our day star has accompanied humanity for many centuries. The remnants of the solar cult can even be found in the supposedly monotheistic religion of Christianity.

It is hardly surprising that most cultures saw the sun as a driving force. Some even treated them as a creator. In many prehistoric religions, the sun is at the center. The wisdom of the ancients also manifested itself in the fact that this star was appreciated not only for its gift of life but also for its ability to destroy. Historians say that worship of the Sun was common mainly in temperate regions. It was known in Egypt, Mesopotamia, and Ancient Armenia. The sun was worshiped by American Indians and civilizations such as the Aztecs, Greeks, and Persians.

The sun was almost always at the center of the pantheon of the various Gods in which our great fathers believed. The most popular names for deities modeled on the Sun are Egyptian Ra, Persian, Indian and Roman Mithra, Norse Sol, or Slavic Swarożyc aka Swaróg.

Unfortunately, we know very little about the religion of our ancestors. This is mainly because no artifacts from the tribal times of Poland have survived. The religion of the early Slavs is recreated on the basis of rudimentary information present in various documents and chroniclers. It is hard to believe that Christianization was dealt with so quickly. Many pagan customs and customs were still quite alive in the 12th century. The Catholic Church did not seem to attach great importance to the risk of neopaganism and the revival of old cults. On the other hand, perhaps the policy of silence was aimed at just such an effect. If so, it has achieved it reasonably well.

However, some sources about the religion of the first Slavs in today's Belarus and Russia remained. This is enough to say with certainty that the Cult of the Sun was at the center of the religion of the ancient Slavs and the deity was called Swarożyc or Swarog, which is the homonymous name of the same god. One would be wrong to say that Sun Cult is not present in Christianity. This religion is full of various loanwords. For example, a solar cross is often styled in the halo of saints. It is an ancient symbol embedded in modern religion. There are more references, let's take the Feast of Corpus Christi, which is celebrated today. The priests show the area around an artifact, a monstrance that immediately brings associations to the Sun. Sometimes we don't think about it, but let's look at most of the monstrance patterns, they are solar discs.

What is most important is not to forget about your roots, about the faith of your ancestors. Observing how Christianity struck into paganism and how both religions complemented each other, we must not forget that Slavic traditions do not always come from Western culture, and we ourselves should feel proud of the legacy of Western Slavs, the ancestors of today's Poles.

Leszy, the Slavic ruler of the forest

Borowy, laskowiec, boruta, borowiec, gamekeeper, forest, forester, forest grandfather, forest grandfather, and wolf shepherd known to the wider public as Leszy, ruled over wild animals and many of the Slavic forests. The most important forest spirit was rather neutral towards people. His attitude depended on their intentions in coming to the forest.

According to Lesza's "guests", he could lead intruders deep into the forest or lead them out safely, he could turn them over to wild animals or protect them from attack by robbers. Most often, it took the form of a wolf, eagle owl, or wind. He was also pictured as a man with an unnaturally white face.

In the mythology of the Slavs, it was often explained that Lesh's height depended on the height of the stand through which he was going. At night, he wandered among the trees and frightened people with his shouts, screams, and howls. Leszy was often capricious, so he was sacrificed in the form of domestic animals and crops. These rules were followed mainly by hunters and woodcutters, towards whom the foresters were most suspicious. In this way, they asked the demon to enter and obtain wood from the forest.

Leszy survived in Polish folk beliefs until the end of the 19th century, as evidenced by, for example, the short stories by Bohdan Baranowski. In one of them, he quotes an application according to which Borowy helped a deserter from the tsarist army to escape. A native demon made its way into the mainstream thanks to Andrzej Sapkowski's books and their adaptations created by CD Projekt RED studio (in the form of the Wiedźmin game series) and the series The Witcher, which is a loose adaptation of Sapkowski's work.

Things we all do but don't admit to

Some activities and reactions are really absurd, but probably quite common ... Do you ever think that your reactions or behaviors are absolutely bizarre and you are ashamed to admit them? When you don't know how to act, do you feel like you are completely alone with it in the world? Well ... Maybe it's not very comforting, but each of us sometimes does something that we don't necessarily want to brag about. This is not about crime or betrayal, but about simple, quiet everyday situations.

1. Confused face when ...

... you pass someone you know by sight, but not enough to say "hello" or "good morning". Or when you get on an elevator with someone you know but don't really know each other. Or when you see the same person at the grocery store for 8 days in a row and you know perfectly well that they have noticed you as well.

2. Giving advice in mind

Another point that probably applies to you as well. When you hear someone talking on the bus or in a shop, are you mentally interfering with your arguments or opinions? Some people go even further - sometimes, quite unknowingly, to utter their judgment aloud. And then it can get quite unpleasant ...

3. Tapping the remote control when ...

... the batteries are weak. Or holding it in a weird way. Or pressing buttons extremely vigorously. No, pressing them in won't magically make them work, but you're definitely trying to do it anyway! A depleted battery sometimes leads to gymnastic acrobatics.

4. Leaving the store with an innocent face

We've done this a hundred times, and you must too. For unknown reasons, leaving a drugstore or supermarket without any purchases always seems a bit suspicious. After all, there is no logical explanation - you have the full right to enter the market and not decide on any product. Still, getting out of the discount store without even one thing is always a challenge. And this translates in your mind: "Behave naturally, you are not doing anything wrong, surely no one will think that you have stolen something since you go out without shopping ..."!

5. Accurate calculation of sleep duration

Are you doing it too? Just before falling asleep, you need to make sure that exactly 6 hours and 48 minutes are left until the alarm clock. Without this type of information, it is impossible to sleep well!

6. Volume down music to ...

... see better. Sounds bizarre? Think of it has never happened to you. When you are driving, you must turn the radio down sometimes to get better visibility. The relationship is obvious!

7. Disappointment with your own appearance ...

... in front of the hairdresser's mirror. No, we don't mean the nervousness caused by a missed haircut. We are talking about the moment BEFORE. Yes, the moment you sit in front of the mirror in a protective cape, right after washing your head. When the hair resembles wet pods, the ears appear more protruding, the face is huge, the tenth chin is revealed, and the clothes are covered with this huge sheet. Even women with high self-confidence then always think, "Am I really that ugly ?!"

8. Cheating that something is extremely funny

In an SMS or on Facebook you write: "I spat on the screen with laughter!", But in fact your eyelid does not twitch? Relax. We all do it. It's probably an inner conviction that the emoticon, crying with amusement, has already laughed on our behalf ...

9. Zezowanie on someone else's messages

Yes, yes, the confidentiality of correspondence applies to everyone. You would probably never open someone else's letter in your life, but admit it, hand on heart - you have surely happened to sneak a peek at a text message written by someone sitting next to you. Not? Or maybe, while standing in the tram above another, seated passenger, you happen to be bored to read what is displayed on the phone screen? Nobody has a completely clear conscience about this!

10. Unrestrained urge to go to the toilet when ...

... someone else wants to use it. Watching an immersive movie and trying to convince your bladder that it will hold on for a few more minutes? It is enough that someone else decides to occupy the bathroom for a moment and suddenly your physiological needs come to the fore! Have you been taking a shower for 40 minutes, but you still do something else? If your sister starts bathing, you will surely find out that it was you who intended to do so immediately!

The weirdest things some people believe

Flat Earth, urinotherapy, and the secret power of the pyramids. Many people still believe in things the logic of which scientists have repeatedly questioned. What theories still attract masses of supporters?

The earth is flat

The flat earth theory is still very popular. It is being funded by the Flat Earth Society founded in 1956 by Samuel Shenton. The number of its members is constantly growing.

The sun is inhabited

The theory about the ice-covered sun and its interior, which are inhabited by intelligent beings, was created in the eighteenth century by William Herschel. However, supporters of the theory of the existence of creatures on the Sun adapted to such high temperatures still exist today.

 Cube of time

According to Gene Ray, there is no 24-hour day. In his opinion, 24 hours are actually four days that run simultaneously. What is the rationale behind this theory? Since four characteristic points can be distinguished in each day (sunrise, noon, west, north), there is a good chance that we can talk about four days. Scientists have not paid the slightest attention to Ray's theory, but still, crowds of fans come to meet him.

Astral travel and dreams

Where dreams come from is still a problem for scientists around the world. However, during sleep research, scientists have become convinced that mythical astral travel remains ... a myth. These conclusions, however, do not prevent masses of fans from believing in the theory of astral travel. In their opinion, the soul has the ability to leave the body and go anywhere in time and space.

The secret power of the pyramids

Recovery, treatment of infertility, or a surge of creativity - all this can be gained thanks to the mythical energy collected by Egyptian pyramids. Proponents of the theory of the secret power of the pyramids believe that the triangular shape concentrates energy from the cosmos, which later has a unique effect on humans.

Urinotherapy

Alternative medicine seems to be gaining in popularity recently. There are also people who believe that urine therapy is the way to health. For them, the use of urine is the best solution for any health ailments.

People and life on earth are an experiment

The theme of humanity living in the so-called "The Matrix" returns regularly from time to time. A few months ago, a group of scientists from Bonn reported that it is possible to check whether we are really inside "virtual reality".

Geophysical cooling of the earth

The theory of geophysical, global cooling says that the Earth is becoming smaller over time, and its reduction is manifested by natural disasters and the formation of mountain ranges. Its supporters believe that the Earth's core cools down and the entire planet shrinks.

Certain ingredients known as "superfoods" are the perfect addition to cocktails to enrich them nutritionally. Popular products that enrich juices are, among others

  • Chia seeds
  • Linseed
  • Avocado
  • Mac
  • acai berries
  • Goji berries
  • Chlorella
  • Spirulina
  • Miechunka
  • White mulberry
  • Baobab
  • Psyllium plantain
  • Hemp protein
  • Turmeric

These ingredients can be added to cocktails, depending on the individual needs of the body, e.g. to detoxify and support immunity, you can add algae - spirulina or chlorella, and to increase the nutritional value of the meal - e.g. hemp protein.

Energizing ginger cocktail

  • 1 orange
  • 2 thick slices of pineapple
  • a teaspoon of grated fresh ginger

To prepare a cocktail, peel the pineapple and the orange, separate them into particles, and put them into a blender. Peel the ginger slice and grate it on a small grater. Put everything into a cup and blend it until smooth. Ginger contains folic acid, vitamin C, vitamin B, iron, calcium, potassium, and phosphorus.

Strengthening spinach juice

  • Banana
  • Orange
  • 1-2 handfuls of spinach
  • Mineral water 250ml (at your discretion, until the desired consistency is obtained)

Peel the banana and orange, and blend it with the spinach. Spinach is a source of vitamins, iron, potassium, and antioxidant compounds including lutein, zeaxanthin, and quercetin.

The antioxidant cocktail of youth

  • 1 tablespoon of chia seeds
  • Nectarine or peach
  • A small carrot or ½ of a medium piece
  • ½ avocado
  • A teaspoon of bee honey

Peeled fruit and vegetables should be blended, add honey and chia seeds and mix. Before drinking it, let it stand for at least an hour to make the chia soak. Chia seeds are rich in omega-3 fatty acids with anti-inflammatory and anticoagulant properties. They are a good part of a balanced diet for everyone, especially for people at risk of cardiovascular disease.

Breakfast oatmeal cocktail with fruit

  • Cherries without seeds, 50g
  • Raspberries, 50g
  • Instant oatmeal, 30g
  • Vegetable or cow milk, a glass
  • A pinch of cinnamon
  • A teaspoon of honey

In order to prepare the cocktail, all ingredients must be blended. This meal is perfect for a quick breakfast or lunch. Cherries are a real treasury of antioxidants, compounds that naturally slow down the aging process. Cinnamon has a beneficial effect on blood glucose in patients with type 2 diabetes and is also believed to have anti-inflammatory and cholesterol-lowering effects.

Green cocktail "vitamin power"

  • Parsley, 40g
  • Apple
  • Banana
  • 2 tablespoons of lemon juice

Blend the peeled apple and banana with the remaining ingredients. Parsley is a diuretic, that helps to remove excess water from the body. In addition, it has a positive effect on the skin. Apple is one of the best sources of quercetin - a plant polyphenol with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anti-aggregating, and blood vessel-strengthening properties.

Fruit and fruit and vegetable cocktails are a great supplement to your daily diet. Thanks to their ease of preparation, they are becoming more and more popular among people who care about a healthy diet, losing weight, caring for their appearance, or actively practicing sports.

He spoke of "yellow dust", the Pope and World War III. Alois Irlmaier's visions are terrifying. And other people's visions.

He was born in Bavaria in 1894 and did not stand out for most of his life. As it happens in such stories - for a time. The farmer's son fought bravely on the fronts of World War I, and then married and raised four children. He took over the land from his father, trying to provide for his family. Suddenly, out of nowhere, he had his first vision.

In 1939, Alois Irlmaier was already a local poet. There were lines of people who had high hopes for his humble house. Everyone came back with an answer

Eventually, a farmer and builder built a hut where he could use his visionary skills. The family was calm, and he was sure that no one would stick out in front of his house. And although he could earn a fortune, his services were completely free

Alois finally met the "reward" in the form of ... lawsuits. Fifteen in one year! Seven times for lying and eight times for financial fraud. There was even a pastor among the accusers of the visionary ...

In one trial, two witnesses testified that they did not believe Irlmaier's prophecies from the beginning. However, five others testified that the man's interpretation was truthful. The court, therefore, had to acquit him. On the web, we can even find a fragment of the verdict, which shows that it was impossible to say that Irlmaier was making everything up or really "seeing" something.

Among the many "visions" that Irlmaier had was ... the invasion of the "unstoppable" Russian army into Slovakia and the Czech Republic (in his time the Soviet Red Army already occupied East Germany, Poland, former Czechoslovakia, and Hungary). The Bavarian talked about the enormous military forces dispatched by Russia that would occupy Central Europe, passing west through Ukraine to Lviv (then Leopolis).

If Alois is to be believed, "two men will kill a third in an important position" and will not end up with one murder - when it comes to the third murder, the third war will start overnight. Unfortunately, he could not predict the exact time when it would happen.

What else did he say?

Yellow dust will fall from the Golden City to the Bay. There will be three days of darkness, and more people will die than in the last two wars. [...] A crescent moon will appear on the Rhine, which will want to devour everything. The Pope from Rome will have to flee across the Great Water. The city with the iron tower [he probably meant Paris - ed.] Will be burned down by its inhabitants. Wherever you look, there's a revolution.

"A beautiful city by the blue sea is almost completely drowned in the sea and in the earth and sand that the sea throws up. I see three drowning cities in the south and northwest [...] Civil war breaks out in Russia. get them out of the way now, the Russians believe in God again, the great leaders of the party commit suicide, and their blood washes away all guilt.

I see red mass mixed with yellow faces, riots, and murders. People sing an Easter song and light candles in front of sacred pictures. A hellish monster dies through prayer; young people put themselves under the protection of the Mother of God "- he continued.

In his opinion, after all this "the emperor is crowned by the fleeing pope". But he couldn't tell how long it would all take. He saw three nines - one of which brings peace.

"After the catastrophe, the climate will change. It will be warmer and our southern fruit will grow. The laws that brought children to death will be abolished. The tall, thin old man will rule over three crowns. Everyone will be able to settle wherever they want and take as much land as they want. The hard times will be behind the world and there will be peace for a long time. But people will have to start a life where their great-grandfathers began "- he said.

The next step would be high inflation as money depreciates more and more. "I think we will see it in the near future with the collapse of the European currency," Alois said.

The hero of the story also predicted his own death and reportedly was glad to die before another war broke out, as he did not want to survive what he saw. Irlmaier died of liver cancer in Freilassing [Upper Bavaria] on July 26, 1959. Shortly before his death, he was asked if his visions were still valid. He replied: "Today I see these events even more clearly because they are getting closer."

Nostradamus, Baba Wanga, the clairvoyant Jackowski, and Padre Pio have black eyes on the future of the world and Poland. Their omens, visions, and prophecies are mainly World War III, the attack of the living dead, the end of the world, the apocalypse, and cataclysms. The famous sister Lucia also announced that we will soon face Armageddon and a total massacre. Her prophecies, given to her by Mary, chill her veins. However, he has good news for Poland. Will he become "the Christ of the nations"?

Sister Lucia dos Santos from Portugal, who witnessed the Fatima apparitions, died in 2005. However, her predictions and prophecies, which she shared with the friar Augustine Fuentes, are still very popular. She warned that terrible events and catastrophes were ahead of the world, and revealed the future of Poland. Will Poles survive World War III and will we be facing another war with Germany?

Sister Lucy warned in her prophecies that World War III was coming, during which nuclear weapons would be used. Countries such as Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, and France will be the most damaged by nuclear bombing.

As we read on any radio.pl, World War III will begin when the Chinese start attacking the whites and then attack Russia. Ethnic cleansing will begin to threaten the entire white race in the world. The Chinese are said to be extremely cruel in imitating the Japanese behavior during World War II.

They will cause terrible destruction, shocks, and disturbances in nature, which will later take revenge on themselves. The Chinese army will die from nuclear weapons, which it will throw itself on the world, although it will win initially, warned Sister Lucy.

According to the nun, Germany will draw the US into the war as an ally, which in turn will provoke Asia. The United States and the United Kingdom will deploy troops to countries such as Iraq, Turkey, Iran, and the Balkans to repel China's attack.

The events to come will change the face of the Earth, and force all the nations of the world to act. Some are under the pressure of war, others as a result of natural disasters or the destruction and decay brought about by nuclear weapons. The Americans will not want to get involved directly in the war, but seeing what the Chinese are doing, they will wish Russia a victory, said Sister Lucy.

What awaits Poland in this global massacre? According to Lucia, Germany will want to take advantage of the situation and take our territory, but these actions will end in failure. Silesia, Szczecin, and some ports may suffer as a result of the bombing.

Ultimately, Poland will emerge from World War III unscathed and "will be raised to the heights". It is the Poles who are to play a key role in the reconstruction of Europe after World War III.

This time Poland will be spared and will be the only country that will emerge from the world cataclysm as a country more powerful, stronger, and more wonderful. The future of Europe will depend on it. In it, the rebirth of the world will begin, through a system that will create, new laws, in accordance with God's law. Poland will implement God's law within its borders, as it has experienced grievances, injustices, crimes, and lawlessness. She will build a new house of brotherhood for all nations of the world and will be a mother to her children. He will not reject anyone, he will not condemn anyone, but he will take in, said Sister Lucy.

According to Newsweek, monstrous natural disasters also appear in sister Lucia's visions. We are threatened by natural disasters and natural disasters such as eruptions of Mount Etna and other volcanoes that will cause atmospheric disturbances, ash rains, hurricanes, downpours, and floods. Germany will be flooded by the sea, which will flood all the way into the Rhine Valley.

Strange theories solo travelers hear. Is there any truth in them?

Boring, expensive, dangerous, and only for people who do not have friends - this is how many (if not most) people still think about lonely travel. Today we will deal with the most popular stereotypes!

After all, after long deliberations or - on the contrary - a spontaneous decision made, you are going to set off on your way out of a tangle of different events, desires, and dreams. You willingly and excitedly tell your friends and family about it, read hundreds of articles and blogs, and prepare yourself for the undisguised applause of those close to you. The aunt congratulates you and asks if you already have a backpack and asks you to send photos on a regular basis, friends pat you on the back and say that it is a great decision and you will definitely have a lot of adventures, the bank lady assures with a smile that in this situation they will immediately pick you up interest on the savings account, because the trip will not pay off on its own, and the boss immediately shortens the working hours so that you have time to get ready.

And it would have been so, if not for the fact that solo travels are treated like a whim in most cases. In fact, you will be faced with an avalanche of opinions from people who - if only the academy were handing out Oscars for writing black scripts - would have received multiple awards. And while the most expressed doubts are due to concern, well… they rarely have anything to do with the truth. Because…

Yes and no. In fact, traveling alone can be more expensive than one in which we divide the costs into two. Especially when we choose a route where renting a car is key, there are no hostels with multi-person rooms and we have to take the so-called "Double private room for single use" or simply - we are going on a trip with a travel agency. However, there are also countries that are even made for lonely trips. Last year, we even prepared a special list for you - so that every solo traveler will find something for himself. Regardless of whether he prefers big cities, spectacular adventures or simply looks for rest, relaxation and solitude.

In addition, the tourism industry knows very well the financial potential of individual tourists and is increasingly preparing special offers for those who do not want, cannot, or do not like to go with their friends, but also do not necessarily want to organize on their own.

Do you know this pretty famous picture circulating on the internet where - when you announce that you are going on a trip, there are a lot of willing companions around you, and over time their number gradually decreases, until finally the day of departure - you are completely alone? He's funny but cruelly real. Friends will always find a pile of reasons they would like to but can't go. If you have a free moment, please send them our text: “Do you want to get away from traveling? Nothing of that!" - we refuted the most common excuses in it.

The first lonely journey is most often simply the result of that one small droplet that poured the cup of bitterness. You no longer want to look for someone to accompany you, you don't want to wait forever for others, and you don't want to waste your time because others have different priorities. You say "enough!", Pack your backpack and suddenly discover that the only pointless idea was to postpone that decision. We have friends, family, and friends. But that doesn't mean we always have to go with them. And sometimes - even when they want to - we feel the need to take a break from them. And we have a sacred right to do so.

We travel alone but we are not lonely. This is a key difference highlighted by many single travelers. I guarantee that you will get to know so many people over the course of a few weeks journey that you will often not be able to remember them all.

Roommates from the hostel, fellow travelers from the same bus, people in a pub, on the beach, a married couple who run a local restaurant, a girl who first only showed you the way, and from word to word offered accommodation with her family, or even accidentally met in a small shop - because it turned out that they speak Polish, and yet "obożej it, since we are at the other end of the world". Being alone, you are much more involved in conversations, because sometimes you just want to open your mouth to someone, if you apologize. It is easier to take a lonely traveler home, it is easier to invite to a family celebration, and an additional +1 when half the hostel goes sightseeing together does not make any difference to anyone. And above all, you do not close yourself to the company, which often happens when we travel with someone from the beginning.

Many things can happen to you, but loneliness is the last of them. Unless at your own request - which is a completely different matter.

Every journey is dangerous. It doesn't matter if you're going to Barcelona, Masuria, Kenya or a supermarket. Something unpleasant can always happen. Of course, the degree of threat will be completely different in Central Africa and different in Krupówki, but this does not mean that anywhere in the world you can forget about taking care of your safety.

Always - whether you are traveling alone or with the company - you have to be careful. We never shine with our "wealth", that is, the handful of dollars in the old wallet, with a huge camera just after its premiere, nor do we put a backpack "just for a moment" in some shady place. We don't accept drinks from strangers, and if we hitchhike or sleep in the wild, we first learn to do it wisely. Always be prepared for crisis situations and find out in advance what to do if someone steals your document or if you have an accident and find out where to seek help in hundreds of other cases.

Yes, be mindful of potential robberies, thefts, frauds, spoofs, and many other unpleasant situations because they just happen. But if you think he finds more frequent travelers, that's none of those things. Because if someone wants to attack you, the fact that you will be the two of you is a poor consolation for you - and a double profit for potential attackers. With criminals, we are almost always in a lost position, unfortunately.

However, the risk can be minimized, although this is often done in a slightly different way than when traveling with another person. However, it is not more dangerous, but it is definitely a bit different.

In conclusion, traveling alone - no different than traveling with friends, with parents or even in an organized form - has both advantages and disadvantages. As we wrote in Fly4free, in a lonely journey, no one will support you when you fall ill, lift your spirits when a crisis moment comes, or watch the amazing sunrise with you. However, when friends have a pile of excuses for a trip, and we are pulled on the road - going alone will be much better than rotting at home and growing frustrated.

And with all the theories voiced by great experts who travel at most in the Bermuda Triangle of Life, supermarket - homework, you can stuff your shoes. However, if you have never decided on such a trip before, I warn you - such trips are addictive. Because you often find that you have a lot better fun with yourself than with anyone else.

One of the waitresses couldn't come to work one day because "during the night her boyfriend fucked her ass so hard that she couldn't walk normally". A few years ago, a certain person called and said that today he would not come to work because he was detained. It is worth noting that this person was 25 years old. He actually lived with his parents and she grounded him. Eventually, she said that since we cannot honor her decision, he is quitting the job. Pity the boy. - Smedynski

The most horrific vacation on demand I overheard. I work in an office and deal with paperwork. The phone is ringing, and one of the planners answered. You can hear sobbing, hysteria, and screaming on the handset, and on the other hand, "Okay, okay. Calm down, take the day off. I'll do it, take it easy!" I gave her a strange look, and she hung up. It turned out that the girl woke up during her period with blood on her new white sheets. It soaked in her mattress and ruined her underwear and pajamas. Worse, she had no tampons, the car was in the garage, and she only had a bicycle.

I felt so sorry for her. I asked who it was and it turned out I knew the girl. She lived on the same block as me. 15 minutes later I drove to the store, bought a week's supply of pads, tampons, toilet paper, and painkillers, and dropped her off. I was a superhero that day. I was the manager of a large call center that didn't pay too much. One girl we had just hired called crying, saying her cohabitant had just stabbed her and couldn't come to work. I was shocked and told her not to worry about work and take care of herself and her baby.

Two days later she came to work and showed her "wound". It turned out that she just went to drink and somehow injured her lower abdomen (a lot of surfaces here, it could have been anything) and decided to use it.

I was lied to many times by people who didn't feel like coming to work, but this time I was disgusted because I was really worried about her. - bamfurlon

I lived in a very rural area. The worst excuse I heard was when a friend of a 17-year-old working for us called. He claimed to be his uncle and must leave early today because the cows have escaped and must be herded back to the farm. The manager who picked up told the employee, "I don't believe this crap, but I'm not going to hold you back." The boy stayed and finished his work. - mike_b_nimble

10 things smart people try not to say at work

Words are of great importance. Intelligent people are aware of this and pay attention to the contents of their dictionaries. Some things they remove permanently, others they never use at work.

The words we say at work influence our professional image.

According to, among others, the emotional intelligence of the expert. intelligent people do not use certain words or phrases at work that could be wrong them.

LinkedIn influencer Dr. Travis Bradberry, the co-author of the book "Emotional Intelligence 2.0", believes that certain words and phrases carry a negative charge. Using them at work undermines your professional image.

In one of his articles, Travis Bradberry mentioned 10 words that intelligent people try to avoid like fire. The expert advises paying attention to whether we sometimes (over) use these expressions and cross them out gradually from our dictionary.

1. We've always done it this way

In the era of rapid technological progress, saying that something has always been done in a certain way and should remain so does not reflect our predispositions to work in a modern company. We are required to be ready for constant changes.

Moreover, such statements may cause our boss to wonder if we are too lazy.

2. I can't

The categorical statement "I can't" is often taken as "I don't want to". Before we admit that we cannot do something, we must try. Most often it turns out that we manage to get it before we have a chance to say "I can't". If it turns out that we really cannot do something in a certain way, we must look for an alternative solution. A professional will never say that he can't do something. He'll just do it differently.

3. It's not fair

Everyone knows life is not fair. Using the phrase "it's unfair" makes us look immature and infantile. Even if something doesn't seem quite right, we need to find logical arguments that we can use to discuss any changes.

4. It is not my responsibility

At work, it is good to be assertive and not to let yourself get in the way, but everything can be expressed in two ways: right and wrong. The sarcastic statement that "this is not my job" is not appropriate. It causes us to be perceived as people who want to do only the absolute minimum. On the other hand, a calm and matter-of-fact conversation with your boss about your responsibilities, what you are able to do, and what you are not willing to do is a completely different matter.

5. This may be a stupid idea ... / I will now ask a stupid question ...

Perhaps you think that these kinds of statements are a kind of security ("after all, I warned you that I wasn't sure if this was a good idea"). Unfortunately, they only work against you. Listeners hear the strongest word in the entire sentence, which is "stupid". They may begin to see you that way - a stupid person. The insecurity of your own intelligence, unfortunately, spreads to others.

6. I'll try

Don't say "I'll try." Say "I will." "I'll try" challenges your confidence that you are up to the task.

7. It only takes a minute

If you're not going to get your task done in 60 seconds, don't say it will. It looks like you are in a hurry or your task could be done in such a short time and therefore extremely easy. So why talk about it?

8. I hate this job

Even though we all hate our jobs at times, no one really wants to hear others complain. People who complain regularly are considered negative and lower the morale of the group.

9. It's not my fault

Like "it's unfair", "it's not my fault" sounds immature. Even if you know that the error you are responsible for was only partly your fault, that others are more responsible for it, you have to take it on your shoulders. When you say "it's not your fault" you will have to identify who you think is responsible. It won't raise your status in the team.

10. He is incompetent/lazy / stupid

Wise people don't judge others, at least not out loud. First, it's rude to speak badly about your colleagues. If we have any comments about their work, we can talk to them face to face. If someone is really not competent, everyone knows it already.

Diane Downs - a degenerate mother

The night of May 19-20, 1983, may have been another quiet, warm night in the city of Springfield, Oregon (USA). It could, but it was not. Around 10:30 PM, staff at the local hospital sprang to their feet when a car appeared in the driveway of the emergency department. A distraught young woman sat inside. Time and time again she pressed the horn, begging for someone to help her children. Eight-year-old Christie, seven-year-old Cheryl, and three-year-old Danny, who were also in the car, were just bleeding to death.

Doctors immediately rushed to help the children. They immediately realized that each of them had been shot with a firearm. The condition of all three was very bad - Christie and Cheryl were unconscious, only Danny showing faint signs of life. The woman in the car was also injured - there was a bloody bandage on her left arm, but no one was paying attention to her. Her life was not in danger.

The woman hysterically begged the doctors to save her children. They were to be shot by a degenerate who unexpectedly appeared on the side road that the family was traveling on. Christie and Danny survived. The boy was to be paralyzed for life, and the girl lost her speech due to a brain injury. Cheryl died.

The receptionist, who accompanied the injured mother in the hospital corridor, notified the police about the tragic incident. During subsequent questioning, she testified that the whole thing seemed very strange to her. First, madmen who shoot helpless children at night for no reason are extremely rare. She was also surprised by the unusual self-control of the woman she was dealing with. She seemed almost unnaturally calm as if cut off from any emotions. Would a loving mother act like this?

The mother of the toddlers was Diane Downs. Newly divorced, only recently living in Springfield. That night, she maintained, the four of them had taken their red Nissan to a friend, Diane, who lived on the outskirts of town. On the way back, the children became sleepy. To speed up the journey, Diane decided to turn into a small street called Old Mohawk Road, which led through a picturesque, but lonely, neighborhood.

At one point, an unknown man jumped on the road. Diane stopped and got out and asked if she could help him. The man demanded the car keys. "You must be kidding," the woman replied. After a short conversation, the stranger took out a gun and started shooting at the children who were sleeping in the car. The shocked mother lunges at the attacker. They started struggling. A shot was fired, and Diane felt a pain in her left hand. This infuriated her completely. Eventually, she managed to jump into the driver's seat and sprint toward the hospital.

The shocking case touched everyone. Capturing the psychopathic child killer became a priority for the Springfield Police Department, and a search was immediately launched from a memorial portrait based on Diane's testimony. The wanted man was white, had curly and disheveled hair, was 180 cm tall, 80 kg weight, and stubble. His outfit was dirty and sloppy. He was carrying a 22 mm revolver. He must have been very dangerous to have committed such a terrible act as attacking God the spirit of a guilty mother with young children, whose only "crime" was that they were driving a lonely road after dark.

Diane informed the police that she also had 2 guns - one was kept in the trunk of the car and the other was at home. None of them matched the wounds on the children's bodies. In addition, a test for the presence of gunpowder was carried out on the hands of the woman, which turned out to be negative.

Police officers searched Diane's car and secured all traces that might have helped them solve the case. 22 mm caliber shells with the distinctive letter "U" were found. In the trunk there was a gun described by the woman - it was confirmed that it could not be a murder weapon.

The woman pressed the officers to search her home as well. It also happened. The only interesting find was Diane's diary, which later turned out to be the main evidence in the murder of her children.

The wanted man was white, had curly and disheveled hair, was 180 cm tall, 80 kg weight, and had stubble.

The only interesting find was Diane's diary, which later turned out to be the main evidence of the murder of her children.

Attacks by unpredictable madmen, the more so brutal, are rare. The police suspected that Diane did know her tormentor, but refused to reveal his name. So they decided to take a closer look at the woman and her immediate surroundings. The diary provided a lot of interesting information.

Diane was recently divorced from Steve. Their marriage, successful at first, deteriorated over time. Diane had romances on the side, and Steven had raised his hand on her several times. In 1981, Diane had a crush on Robert Knickerboker, who introduced himself as Nick.

Finally, in April 1983, Nick decided to sort out the marital matters. He confessed his betrayal to his wife, and she promised to forgive him if Nick immediately severed all contact with his lover. The man complied with this order - Diane communicated his decision, supporting her with a statement about his reluctance to be a father. Disappointed, the woman realized that they were the ones standing in the way of her happiness with Nick.

The Diane Downs case was investigated by three detectives: Dick Tracy, Cart West, and Doug Welch. At first, they suspected that the children's father, Steve, might have something to do with the case. The man no longer lived in Springfield. When he found out about the shooting, he came to the hospital to see the children. He was later questioned by police officers.

Steve was in another city on the day of the tragedy. He was on a date - as a freshly baked single, he decided to enjoy life. He testified that to his knowledge his ex-wife had three, not two, weapons. A rifle and two revolvers caliber 22 and 38 mm. Investigators quickly picked up the topic and asked Steve a ghastly question: would Diane be able to harm her own children if it would improve her relationship with her lover. Steve flatly denied it.

The testimony of Diane's ex-husband did not deter the policemen. Christie confirmed their feelings. The girl reacted very badly to her mother's visits to the hospital. Officers noticed that she began to stutter in her presence and her pulse quickened.

Christie ended up in a foster family, where she was recovering from her foster parents and a psychiatrist. Thanks to him, she was able to finally deal with the trauma and learn to speak again. In due course, the child was questioned by police officers. Her confession was shocking - she, Cheryl, and Danny were shot by their own mother.

Diane Downs was arrested on February 28, 1984, at 6:58 on the way to work. The woman was then in another pregnancy with another, accidental lover. The pregnancy belly was clearly visible now. For the press, the sight of her handcuffed mother was a sensation. Her photos landed on all covers.

Pending trial, Diane was in custody and had an extensive correspondence, especially with men. Her "chosen one" was Ranall Woodfield, a murderer sentenced to life imprisonment. Diane Downs found him nice, however, and was glad that the letters made cell time faster.

Diane Downs' trial started a year later. The woman was charged with murder and two attempted murders. She pleaded not guilty. Her ex-husband still claimed that Diane might have committed such terrible things.

The defenders of the accused questioned the credibility of the prosecution's witnesses. They stubbornly repeated the story of the madman's attack, which seemed to become more and more incoherent and not logical over time. Diane changed her often, too - once she even stated that she knew perfectly well who attacked her but would not tell.

The prosecutor, in turn, painted the image of a degenerate mother as a person addicted to men. It was around them that her whole life went on - the children were only an obstacle. Getting rid of them was supposed to make it easier for Diane to continue her promiscuous lifestyle.

Eventually, Diane Downs was bogged down by the testimony of her own daughter, Christine. She still had trouble speaking during the trial but told her without hesitation what happened. The girl's testimony caused a lot of emotions, not only within herself but also among the members of the jury. There was sobbing in the courtroom. Christine testified that her mother shot her, Danny and Cheryl, and herself to distract investigators. In the end, the girl said that she still loves her mother.

The trial lasted 31 days. During it, an unusual staging of the entire crime was organized. A car with puppets representing children's bodies appeared in the courtroom. A policeman pretending to be a murderer would approach each doll and pretend to shoot. It made an electrifying impression on everyone present. Suddenly the whole story was brutally tangible and real.

The Diane Downs case was shocking for the public, the police, and psychology specialists. The woman was examined by them. She has been diagnosed with narcissistic, histrionic, and antisocial personality disorders. It turned out that the woman was abusing her children. She was treating Cheryl particularly badly.

Diane Downs was found guilty of all alleged acts. On June 17, 1984, she heard the sentence: life imprisonment plus 50 additional years' imprisonment. The sentence was not eased either by the stories of her traumatic childhood or the fact that the murder weapon had never been found.

During the trial, Steve changed his mind about his ex-wife's innocence. After the convictions were announced, he said, "I wish there was a death penalty in Oregon."

In prison, the woman did not behave perfectly. In 1987, she escaped from an Oregon prison but only enjoyed 10 days of freedom. After this prank, she was transferred to a maximum security facility. The woman never pleaded guilty. She claimed her children were killed by a Native American.

Steven did not take care of the two survivors of the toddler shooting. Danny and Christie were adopted by Attorney Fred Hugi. The man was the chief prosecutor in their mother's case. Danny never regained control of his legs, but he lives a happy life passionate about computers and information technology. Christie got married and became the mother of a boy and a girl. The latter was named Cheryl.
