The underwater volcano Ahiy erupts in the Pacific Ocean

There are many indications that the underwater volcano in the Northern Mariana Islands continues to erupt.

The Northern Mariana Islands is an administrative unit that has the status of an organized territory of the United States without legal personality. It is located in the western Pacific in the Mariana Islands, sharing it with Guam, north of the Carolina Islands. USGS scientists have been recording underwater acoustic signals indicative of underwater explosions for weeks and are now able to locate their source at Ahii Seamount, in the Pacific Ocean, approximately 6,100 kilometers west of Honolulu.

Ahiy is a volcano located in the Pacific Ocean, 18 km southeast of the island of Farallón de Pajaros, belonging to the Marian group. Ahiy is an underwater conical volcano, located 137 meters deep. If the suspicions are correct, the volcanic eruption probably started in mid-October. Vessels in this area are advised to avoid the area and exercise caution in the event of an eruption or its products, including steam, floating pumice, gases, etc., reaching the surface.

The Ahii Underwater Volcano is located at the northern tip of the Marianas and is only one of the few active underwater volcanoes that make up the Marianas active volcano chain that is the result of the western subduction of the Pacific Plate beneath the Philippines' sea plate.

Current sonar signals, likely from volcanic activity on Ahia, were picked up by sensors on Wake Island, almost 2,000 km away. The USGS plans to send a team to investigate whether the volcano is actually erupting or whether the signals could be due to shallow earthquakes near the surface.

An anomaly detected in a US fusion reactor

At Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (USA), experiments with inertial thermonuclear fusion discovered anomalous behavior of ions in the plasma that did not match theoretical predictions. The results of the research carried out by the National Ignition Facility (NIF) have been published in the journal Nature Physics.

In NIF, the fusion reactions are triggered by lasers that heat the so-called Lasers and irradiate the inner wall of the cylinder, which generates thermal X-rays that cause the capsule to explode. Deuterium-tritium fuel is compressed to hundreds of gigabits, creating a hot spot at its center with a temperature of about 10 million Kelvin. The fusion reactions produce alpha particles, the energy of which is able to heat up the rest of the fuel.

Heating alpha leads to an increase in fuel reactivity as the average kinetic energy of the ions in the plasma increases during the capsule explosion. It is assumed that the temperature of ions related to their kinetic energy can be determined by measuring the energy spectra of neutrons produced in a nuclear fusion reaction. Such spectra should contain information about the properties of the heated plasma. For example, shifts in mean neutron energy from nominal 14 MeV are related to ion temperature, mean ion kinetic energy, and plasma velocity.

In another experiment, scientists obtained neutron spectra using time-of-flight spectrometers, which allow for obtaining information about the energy of a particle depending on the time it traveled over a certain distance (about 20 meters) through the medium. Ion temperature was determined from the spread (dispersion) of the neutron kinetic energy spectrum, and the average ion kinetic energy was determined from the shift of the average neutron energy.

For plasma with thermal ions in which there is no fusion heating, their energy distribution corresponded to Maxwell's. However, in the case of burning plasma, a deviation from the expected Maxwell distribution was revealed - the ions at a given temperature had higher energy than the theory predicted, equal to or greater than 10 kilo electronvolts.

There are several possible explanations for this anomaly: unaccounted-for kinetic effects, the effect of plasma hydrodynamics on neutron spectra, and a combustion characteristic that does not allow correct interpretation of plasma properties from neutron spectra. According to the authors, more research is needed to identify the causes of the deviations that may affect the production of fusion energy.

Amber Tuccaro - murder of a hitchhiker from Canada, the voice of the perpetrator on the recording

Amber Alyssa Tuccaro was born on January 3, 1990, in Fort Chipewyan (Alberta, Canada). Her parents had Indian roots, and Amber herself belonged to the Mikisew Cree First Nation, an organization associating the indigenous people of Canada. However, she was not raised by biological parents. The girl was adopted. It was a common practice in Canada that indigenous children grew up far away from their families. This was motivated by the children's welfare and the desire to assimilate them with the rest of society.

Amber's adoptive parents were Vivian and Andrew Tuccaro. Amber lived in their house with her four older brothers. The mother, also known as Tootsie, described her daughter as a cheerful girl who loved to sing, laugh and make others laugh. Her younger brother Paul, with whom Amber was very close, remembered her in a similar way. The man mentioned that the sister was ambitious and full of energy. Her dream was a career as a dancer or singer. Unfortunately, the reality turned out to be less kind and the woman had trouble finding any job.

At 19, Amber gave birth to a son, Jacob, whom she raised alone. Nothing is known about the child's father. According to relatives, the boy was the most important for the young Canadian. Jacob was only 14 months old at the time of his mother's disappearance. A 20-year-old woman and her son lived with their parents in Fort McMurray. It is a small town in northern Alberta. Tuccaro has moved to women's centers several times. It can be assumed that this was due to an attempt to gain independence. Ultimately, however, the woman always returned to her family home.

In August 2010, Amber decided to take a short vacation with her son and friend Evangeline. Women knew each other for a short time. They met at one of the aforementioned women's shelters. Tootsie had concerns about this trip. Amber assured her, however, that she would only be gone for two days. Ultimately, the financial argument prevailed. The friends managed to hunt down cheap airline tickets. Both women were in financial difficulties and would not have traveled otherwise. On Tuesday, August 17, the three boarded the West-Jet plane.

After a short flight, Tuccaro checked in with her son and friend at a motel in Nisku. Women chose this accommodation because its price was very attractive. To stay in a hotel in nearby Edmonton, if they wanted to visit, they would pay much more. It is worth adding that the airport was located in Nisko, not the capital of the Alberta province. This is also a typical situation for many other airports around the world, which are often located on the outskirts of large cities.

On August 18, the first day after arriving, Amber decided to leave the motel alone. Around 8 p.m. she left Jacob in the care of a friend. According to some sources, the woman went out to buy something to eat. According to others, she was so eager to see Edmonton that she decided to go there earlier.

None of my friends had a car at the time. To save money, they also decided not to rent a car on the spot. So the only means of transport was hitchhiking. According to some sources, Amber was last seen after she left the motel. Others say someone noticed her getting into the car.

The next day (August 19), Evangeline contacted Tootsie because Amber had not returned from Edmonton. The woman's mother immediately began to suspect that something bad might have happened. For she knew Amber would not have left her son long, especially with someone she had known recently. So Vivian reported her daughter to the Canadian police.

Unfortunately, this report was not taken seriously. Officers said Tuccaro was probably partying and will soon return to his son or contact loved ones. The days passed, and there was still no sign of Amber. However, the police still did not see anything suspicious in this and did not take any steps to find the woman. Investigators reportedly received information that the missing woman had been seen near Edmonton. Even if that was the case, the Canadian police failed to confirm it. It was easier for them to conclude that the problem was not solved and Amber escaped of her own accord.

The investigation began only on September 23, which is more than a month after the woman's disappearance. Meanwhile, it took the authorities four months to interrogate Vivian. It is worth adding that discrimination against indigenous people is quite common in Canada. Citizens of Indian origin are also much more likely to fall victim to crimes. This is especially true of women, many of whom are raped or murdered. Probably the policemen were prejudiced against Amber because of her origin, so they did not do their job. Another reason could be sheer incompetence and inexperience in handling this type of case.

It was also a very serious neglect of the investigators that Evangeline was reportedly never interrogated. It is so strange that the woman spent the last moments with Tuccaro before her disappearance and probably knew the most about her plans for the unlucky evening. Another failure of the RCMP (that is, the Canadian police) was the destruction of Amber's belongings before they were checked by investigators.

In 2019, police officials apologized to the Amber family for all their mistakes and omissions. The relatives, however, rejected these apologies because they felt that they were not sincere. They claimed that it was a play to the public.

On August 28, 2012, two years after Tuccaro's disappearance, a short excerpt from a telephone conversation was published. It lasts about a minute, although the conversation itself lasted about 17 minutes. During the recording, you can hear a terrified and nervous Amber talking to a man who agreed to drop her off in his car. The woman asks the man several times where he is taking her. She noticed that they were driving along side roads, not the highway, and in the wrong direction. Finally, the connection drops off unexpectedly.

Tootsie reportedly warned Amber about hitchhiking before. She once told her daughter to call someone and talk on the phone during a ride like this. Tuccaro obviously followed this advice. While driving from Nisku to Edmonton, she contacted her brother. He was in prison at the time, and every conversation was taped. If it were not for this, we would probably never know the course of events.

This recording was the first breakthrough in the case. It provided clear evidence that something had to happen to Tuccaro and that the perpetrator was most likely the driver who picked up the woman as a hitchhiker. Investigators decided to spread the conversation, hoping that someone would recognize the man's voice.

The most interesting thing is that three women reported to the police. They all named the same man as a suspect. However, the police ruled out that he was the perpetrator. It was another controversial behavior on their part. Among the Internet users interested in the case, there were voices that the alleged perpetrator actually repeatedly tried to use foreign women. However, some people were indignant that the police had waited so long to make the material available to the public.

Only four days after the recorded conversation was published, horse riders discovered a human skeleton and skull. It was on a country estate near Leduc (Alberta). These remains were quickly examined. It was established that it was the body of Amber Tuccaro.

The remains were found approximately 17 minutes' drive from the motel where the missing woman had left. Interestingly, the last Amber phone call lasted the same time. The woman is believed to have been killed shortly after the end of the call. The killer must have murdered her in or near his car and abandoned the body in the field.

The Amber family requested the exhumation of the woman's remains. The relatives wanted the tests repeated because they doubted whether the found body really belonged to Amber. The suspect was supposed to have a short time spent on identification and differences in dental records. After all the mistakes of the police, they had every right to doubt.

One of the obvious suspects seems to be the man named by the three women who heard the recording of the phone call. Given the number of mistakes made during the investigation, his exclusion by the police from among the potential perpetrators does not really mean much. At the same time, no evidence was found that would allow the man to be accused.

In January 2020, a man made several posts on social media. He wrote in them that his father (who lived in the Edmonton area) had murdered Amber Tuccaro, as well as several other women in Canada and the United States over the years. Relatives were to confirm that the voice on the recording was similar to the informant's father. The man passed the information on to the police. Investigators admitted, however, that it was a wrong report, and the man removed entries about the alleged perpetrator from social media.

The Tuccaro family speculates that Evangeline may have had something to do with Amber's death, or at least knew more than she revealed. However, it is likely that the woman lied about Tuccaro's return to the motel because she believed she would be there soon. She also knew that her friend's mother would panic if she found out about her daughter's disappearance.

Yet another theory is that a serial killer was responsible for Amber's death. Four women, who were also indigenous people of Canada, died in a similar way. They were all prostitutes.

Unfortunately, this puzzle still awaits a solution today. Had it not been for one of the worst investigations in Canadian police history, the matter might have been cleared up.

Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers - Unexplained death in the jungle

The El Pianista Trail, the tourist attraction of the Panamanian town of Boquete, is considered rather straightforward. It certainly shouldn't be a problem for two athletic young girls. On April 1, 2014, Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers, dear friends from the Netherlands, decided to take up the challenge. In the beginning, they did very well, as evidenced by photos taken by tourists. Then something must have happened that made the women stray from the trail and never come home again.

Lisanne Froon was born on September 24, 1991, in Amersfoort (The Netherlands). Among her peers, she was distinguished above all by her height - she was 184 cm tall. She used this unusual gift by playing volleyball.

Sport, however, was not her only passion. Lisanne graduated in Applied Psychology. She enjoyed universal sympathy. She infected with a smile. She was ambitious, but a bit shy at the same time. She lived in a dormitory with her best friend - Kris.

Kris Kremers was a year younger than Lisanne but was born in the same town. She had characteristic red hair and blue eyes. She was interested in art, and she studied cultural and social education.

Kirs was described as cheerful, extroverted, and energetic. So you can say that the girls got together on the basis of opposites. In 2014, they both graduated from college and were 22 and 21 years old, respectively.

During their studies, Kirs and Lisanne worked in a restaurant. They put the money earned in this way for a very specific purpose - they wanted to go on an exotic journey combined with work for the needy.

Ultimately, they chose Panama. They wanted to visit this extraordinary corner of the globe and teach local children English at the same time. Once they chose their destination, they began scrupulously preparing for their journey. Both had had similar initiatives in the past and therefore had experience.

Panama is located in Central America in the Isthmus of Panama and connects two American continents. The capital city is the city of the same name. The country's official language is Spanish.

Panama is located in a humid climate zone. The average temperature is 28 degrees Celsius, the country is crisscrossed by a network of rivers, 44% is occupied by humid equatorial forests. Outside of large, developed cities, it is not easy for people to live here.

On March 15, 2014, Kirs and Lisanne set off on a journey of a lifetime. From the Netherlands, they flew to Texas (USA), where they took a plane to Costa Rica, and from there they traveled to Bocas del Toro in Panama. It was only on March 29 that they arrived in Boquete, where they were to start working at an English school.

Lisanne and Kris left their belongings in the cozy hostel and went to the facility where they were to teach the children. Its owner - an American of origin - told the surprised tourists that the plans had changed and they could start working only a week later.

The Dutch women were not happy about it, but they had no choice but to adapt to the situation. They decided to use these additional 7 days to explore the area. It was obvious that they had to walk the El Pianista trail which is a local tourist attraction.

The El Pianista route leads to the top of El Mirador. This is called The "continental watershed" - a place from which - in good weather - two oceans can be seen simultaneously. It is considered medium-difficult, and it takes an average of 4 to 5 hours to complete the entire route.

The girls wanted to go to the Pianist with a guide. They made an appointment with him on April 2. The man showed up at the hostel on the scheduled day early in the morning. He knocked on the door, and called, but no one answered him.

Concerned, the guide asked the owners of the facility about two Dutch women, but they had last seen them at breakfast the previous day. They all decided to enter their room together. When they opened the door, they saw an empty room with an unmade bed. Lisanne and Kris were nowhere to be found. It didn't seem like they had come back for the night.

On April 1, 2014, Kirs and Lisanne told the hosts that they were going to hang around the neighborhood. They took a dog named Blue with them. It is not known why they decided to go to "The Pianist", even though they had a guide already arranged for April 2.

At the beginning, the trip went well - you can see it in the photos the girls took along the way. The photos show them one by one or together taking selfies. There is no stranger on any of them. The tourists seem to be in great spirits.

In the evening of the same day, Blue returned to the hostel alone, without the girls. This disturbed the owners, but not enough to cause them to do anything about it. After all, the Dutch were of legal age and had the right to do whatever they liked.

Concerned, the guide reported the missing girls to the local police station. The small facility did not have sufficient staff to carry out a large-scale rescue operation. So the search started on April 3.

Meanwhile, Lisanne and Kris's parents also started to get nervous. Suddenly their daughters stopped talking to them, even though they had been doing it regularly so far. On April 6, they flew to Panama, assisted by detectives, policemen, and sniffers, to take part in the search.

The work of the officers was extremely difficult. Boquete has a tropical climate, it is extremely stuffy and hot. In such conditions, a person dehydrates quickly. It takes a long time to cover a short distance between trees and bushes. Leaves and branches muffle the light and human calls. Dutch tracking dogs, not used to such conditions, turned out to be useless - they were not able to pick up the trail.

Despite all these difficulties, the search was carried out extremely meticulously, during the day and at night, when the jungle was dark in Egypt. Lifeguards worked at full speed for 10 days, supported by local residents and guides. They walked the Pianist a few times, but found no trace of Lisanne and Kris on the way. Desperate parents offered a reward of $ 30,000 in exchange for any information about the missing women.

Time was working to the detriment of the missing. It was known that the girls did not have the appropriate clothes or equipment that would help them survive in difficult conditions. They wore shorts and T-shirts and had no food or water.

The case of the missing girls quickly gained publicity across Panama. Witnesses who saw them in Boquete on April 1 reported them to the police. Among them were several tourists who testified that they had eaten a meal with Kris and Lisanne at a local coffee shop just before they set off on the trail.

The breakthrough in the case came only ten weeks later. It was then that the two Indians found a blue backpack in the rice field that belonged to Lisanne. The men guessed that the item might belong to the missing Dutch woman, so they wanted to hand it over to investigators as soon as possible. It took them two days to travel to the police station.

Found in the backpack: two bras belonging to Lisanne and Kris, $ 85, two pairs of cheap sunglasses, a Canon Powershot SX270 HS camera, two cell phones (iPhone and Samsung), and a water bottle.

All these items were neatly packed and in surprisingly good condition considering the time they spent in the jungle. Everyone had high hopes for the find. It turned out, however, that the analysis of the items found in it raised more questions than answers.

On April 1, around 4:30 p.m., Kris's iPhone made the first attempt to call 112 emergency number. Later, the same number was dialed on Lisanne's Samsung. Both attempts failed for two reasons: there is no mobile phone coverage on the El Pianista trail, and the emergency number in Panama is 911.

Samsung was turned on until April 4, when the battery probably ran out, the iPhone lasted longer. Regular attempts were made to make calls to both emergency numbers on both phones.

Between April 5 and April 11, the iPhone was turned on multiple times to check coverage, but to no avail. Once, no PIN was entered into it. This suggested to investigators that his owner, Kris, was already dead at the time, so Lisanne was using the camera, or someone else, perhaps the kidnapper.

The analysis of photos taken by the girls during the trip introduced even more ambiguity to the matter. The photos from April 1 can be called typical "holiday photos", kept in a cheerful atmosphere. The last of the day was taken at 1:54 pm.

The next photos are dated April 8 and are extremely disturbing. These are 90 black or almost black frames depicting emptiness, the night sky, or fragments of dark, forest undergrowth. Only 3 of them are more or less legible.

The first photo shows Kris's red hair in close-up. On the second - a bizarre structure made of twigs, red foil and chewing gum wraps. On the third - a fragment of the night landscape, like a muddy slope. According to some, this photo shows a fragment of the human body.

There has been long speculation over the meaning of these photographs. The most probable theory is that on April 8, at night, tourists heard sounds made by rescuers. They wanted to let them know where they were with flashlights. However, the dense vegetation effectively suppressed voices and flashes. The longed-for rescue has not come.

On the other hand, the bizarre installation of sticks and fragments of a plastic bag may have been a marker documenting the whereabouts of Lisanne and Kris. It is possible that tourists wanted to make it clear that they were still alive.

The officers decided to search the rice field where Lisanne's backpack was found. It was so inaccessible that they decided to ask local Indians for help. As a result of these actions, a shoe with a foot stuck inside, 33 bones (some with tissue fragments still visible) and shorts of one of the girls were found lying on a stone by the river bank.

The untrained Indians packed all items into bags and sent them to the police. They did not take photos, they did not protect any traces, because no one trained them for this purpose. In this way, some of the priceless information that could later help solve the mystery of the girls' deaths was lost.

DNA tests confirmed that the foot in the shoe and the remaining 28 bones belonged to Lisanne and only two to Kris. The remains were in different states of decomposition, which is extremely strange considering the two bodies had been lying in tropical conditions for 2.5 months. None of the bones were found to have teeth marks from wild animals or from any trauma (impact, gunshots, etc.).

Investigators considered different scenarios of what happened to Lisanne and Kris on April 1, 2014. The simplest version of events assumes that the girls strayed from the trail and got lost in the dense jungle. For 11 days, they tried to find their way back to Boquete, fighting hunger, humidity, heat and wild animals. They walked along the river.

They fell ill or had an accident on the way. They did not have the strength to continue their journey. They died of exhaustion, and the current of the water carried both bodies down to the rice field at Bocas del Toro, a day's walk from Boquete.

To get there on their own, Lisanne and Kris would have to cross - without provisions and equipment - five ravines and three rivers. It is unlikely, hence the theory of bodies abducted by a strong current. In the jungle, even a small stream can quickly turn into rapid rapids. Slippery rocks and mud from heavy rainfall further increase the risk of drowning.

The possibility of sexual assault and kidnapping was also considered. In this version, the main suspect was Feliciano González - a would-be tourist guide, who appeared at the door of their room on April 2.

It has been speculated on the Internet that González only took young, attractive girls with whom he was pushy and even tried to harass them. Perhaps he followed the tourists on April 1 to the summit of El Mirador. In a convenient place for him, he ordered them to get off the trail, and then used and killed. However, no evidence was found to support this theory.

After analyzing the evidence and circumstantial evidence, the prosecutor in charge of the case, Betzaida Pitti, appeared at a press conference. In a monotone voice, she recited the findings made by the investigators: no traces of animals or humans were found on the bones; some bones were treated with phosphorus, but it is not known under what circumstances this process took place; the remains were in various states of decomposition; no traces of blood were found in the rice field.

The prosecutor Pitty argued that dangerous animals such as pumas and snakes live in the Boquete area. Small streams during rainfall rapidly expand in volume, posing a risk to humans. On a muddy path, it is easy to slip, break a leg or break your head.

Outside of this litany of possibilities, she has not put forward any evidence-based version of what happened to Lisanne Froon and Kris Kremers. The whole matter, despite numerous unresolved doubts, was considered an unfortunate accident. The investigation was closed and the remains of the deceased were handed over to their parents so that they could organize a funeral.

Mr Anime - youtuber from hell

Trey Sesler had everything to live a happy life: a normal childhood, loving parents, a supportive brother, and school buddies. In addition, he was also famous - as a beginner YouTuber gradually gained more and more popularity. He dreamed of a career as a filmmaker, which - with any luck - was within his reach. One day he decided to annihilate it all for no particular reason. Or was it the so-called "Columbine effect"?

Around midnight on March 19, 2012, Trey asked his mother to come to the garage to help him fix the car. The woman agreed without a problem. She had good contact with her son. As soon as she entered the room, she saw Trey in front of her, holding a 22mm rifle. The boy squeezed the trigger without a word. He fired at his mother several times. Rhonda, 57, fell limp to the ground.

When he realized what he had done, he felt fear. After a while, however, he found that there was no turning back now. He had to finish the job. He started from the garage towards the house to kill the rest of the family. As he later testified, he did not want his relatives to be ashamed of hearing that he had become a matricide.

Mark, Trey's brother, met him in the hallway. I don't know what you were doing there [in the garage - author's note], but it was very loud - he said. Trey silently passed Mark and headed to his room. He found a loaded Glock pistol and shot his brother twice. Miraculously injured Marek managed to escape and barricade himself in the bathroom.

The noises woke the boys' father - Lawton. The sleepy man wanted to find out about the situation, but he didn't have time. Trey burst into the bedroom and shot his father in his own bed. Later he remembered Mark still sitting in the bathroom. Trey started firing at the door to the room. Eventually, one of the bullets hit the lock. The door swung open.

A twenty-six-year-old man was lying on the floor, curled up in a fetal position. He was bleeding heavily, he was not moving. Trey thought he was dead, but he wanted to be sure. So he swapped the Glock for an AR-15 rifle and headed back to the garage. His mother also showed no sign of life, yet the killer shot her twice more. Later he went back to Mark and shot him in the head. Finally he went to the bedroom, to the dead father, whom he also shot.

At 2am, Trey made voicemail messages informing his parents' employers that they would not be showing up for work that day (Rhonda was a journalist for the local newspaper, Lawton a teacher). His voice was completely calm, in contrast to what had happened moments earlier or later at home.

Trey completely demolished him. He destroyed everything he could get his hands on - furniture, small items, family heirlooms. He shot TV and other electronic devices, threw books off the shelves, took food out of the refrigerator. He broke the aquarium and killed his beloved ferret. The house soon turned into a shambles.

Frenzy, Trey covered the walls of the house with various inscriptions. For example, he asked, "Is what I have done wrong?", "Will I get in trouble?", "Will they look at me weird?" He also wrote that he loves his family, does not know why he killed her and asks God for help.

However, the murder of the family did not end Trey's murderous plans. The boy packed the AR 15 rifle with ammunition into the car and headed towards the high school he once attended. He wanted to start a shootout similar to the one that took place in 1999 in Columbine.

Trey knew everything about this crime, he knew its course minute by minute. He watched documentaries about Columbine 50 times in total. He was fascinated by Eric's feat

and Dylan, the teenagers who shot and injured a total of 37 people in 1999 and later committed suicide.

Trey was going to hide between the benches of the school stadium where the game was to be played that day. In fact, the school was his primary target - killing family members was just an introduction. Trey wanted to kill as many people as possible.

Surprisingly, on the way to school, the bomber suddenly changed his mind. As he later stated, the idea of murdering several dozen people in the stadium suddenly became "too real". The boy made a phone call to his friend and then went to his house.

The police showed up at the Sesler family home fairly quickly. The surprised officers saw a view as if they were on a battlefield: damaged objects were scattered all over the house. The floor was littered with broken glass, broken plastic, papers, and cartridge cases. There were blood and bullet marks here and there.

Worse than the mess were the dead bodies of Rhonda, Mark, and Lawton. Their arrangement indicated that the victims tried to defend themselves against the attacker or to escape from him.

In many places, inscriptions attesting to the criminal's state of mind have been discovered. Trey was not overflowing on a daily basis, but after the murder, he covered the walls of the house with words of remorse, fear and enormous suffering. All the more, none of the gathered people could understand why the young man decided to implement such a terrifying plan.

The police had no major doubts as to who was responsible for the monstrous crime. The search for the youngest of the Sesler family began immediately. We managed to track down the murderer a few hours later. The arrest was made by the SWAT unit (the equivalent of Polish anti-terrorists). Trey sat motionless in his Ford Mustang outside his friend's house. He had several loaded weapons with him.

The boy collaborated with the police from the very beginning. He pleaded guilty. He was in a very poor mental state, and the officers were afraid that he would commit suicide. During the eight-hour interrogation, he told exactly what he had done and why. From time to time he would sob out, terrified of the fate he had brought to his family.

Why did a twenty-two-year-old man, who so far had no violent behavior, decide in cold blood to shoot his mother, father and brother? In his own words, alcohol, drugs, the Internet, and an interest in violence were responsible for the act.

However, Trey changed his testimony many times. He often emphasized that he was very close to his family, that he would have given his life for Rhonda, Mark, or Lawton if he had to. According to another version of the incidents, depression and loneliness were supposed to drive him to murder.

For the cops and friends of Trey, the worst thing was that the boy had not previously revealed any obvious signs of madness or murderous intentions. Nobody expected that a bloody crime plan had been maturing in his head for a long time. The boy really wanted to know what it was like to kill someone and some swallows of this degenerate thinking appeared.

Trey Eric Sesler was born on August 3, 1989. He lived and grew up in the small town of Waller, Texas. He was interested in cinematography. In 2006, he founded a channel on YouTube. He published amateur films of his own production there. He appeared in them as an actor, but most of all he was a director.

Trey's short works were not of the best quality, but they testify to the young artist's great enthusiasm. They mainly concern the fight between good and evil. Their heroes stand up for the weaker and take revenge on all kinds of bad characters.

Many of these productions feature Trey's mom and brother. It is clear from this that the family was very supportive of the aspiring director. She helped him pursue his passion also financially. Gradually, Trey's channel was gaining more and more fans, although the boy did not have professional recording equipment, nor did he have professional knowledge about editing.

He learned everything himself and with great commitment. He also acted as a local reporter covering various events in the Waller area. Over time, he began giving advice to other creators. For example, he recorded a tutorial on how to perform a realistic gunshot wound for a movie.

The real breakthrough, however, came when Trey decided to review anime (Japanese animated films). Japanese series did not interest a large audience at the time, so Trey was a niche artist. However, thanks to his efforts, this part of the cinema became more and more popular.

Trey took the pseudonym Mr. Anime. He talked about productions that he had the opportunity to watch recently. He primarily paid attention to a good script and interesting characters, the action itself was not the most important thing for him. He even disliked anime consisting only of gory scenes of violence. He found them boring and of little value.

The boy gradually increased his ranges. The work of a YouTuber brought him real joy. There wasn't much distraction in the small town of Waller, Texas, and Mr Anime eventually became recognizable. Many other creators praised the reviews he recorded for their high substantive level.

At one point, Trey became seriously ill with pneumothorax. He had to undergo surgery at the hospital, which was fortunate enough. The boy has changed a lot since then. The audience of his channel noticed that he seemed absent, lost the plot, his tongue was getting tangled. Some wrote in the comments that he clearly needed professional help.

The content he posted on YouTube began to evolve in a worrying direction. Trey became morbidly interested in the weapon. He talked a lot about serial killers, and eventually about the Columbine High School shootout as well.

As he later testified, at that time he was on strong psychotropic drugs, which he mixed with alcohol and drugs. Gradually, he became more and more involved in the world of violence - he was fascinated by the very act of killing, although he found its consequences very unpleasant, even terrifying.

Family members and friends must have sensed that something was wrong. Trey's father even made a joke, saying that "the son will kill them all someday." Rhonda also showed signs of nervousness - she lost weight, deteriorated in health, which did not go unnoticed by her co-workers.

On February 13, 2012, Trey posted a video titled "Mr Anime is planning something"

(Mr. Anime is getting ready). In it, he says that he is planning a short hiatus from publishing the films, which did not surprise anyone in particular. Everyone thought that the boy just wanted to rest.

In mid-March, Trey called the police reporting a shooting in the area. Perhaps he was trying to check the vigilance of the officers in this way. Every day he thought about hurting someone. He also ran a private "serial killers ranking", in which he awarded everyone points for the number of victims, weapons used, method of operation, etc. Ted Bundy and Son of Sam.

Although Trey testified in the investigation that he had planned to kill someone from the age of 13, no one realized that a nice, kind and easy going young man who had no quarrels with either his mother or father or brother had any tendencies. to aggression. He never acted aggressively, never got into trouble, or provoked fights. He was an ordinary boy like many, with an eccentric, but on the whole harmless hobby.

He had a group of friends. Nobody at school harassed him. His parents allowed him to live together, even though he was 22 years old and - by American standards - he should have become independent a long time ago. They also helped him financially. They wanted nothing in return.

Although Texas is still under the death penalty to this day, Trey Sesler received a life sentence without parole for first-degree murder. The accused himself asked for this right to be taken away, as he considered himself extremely dangerous.

According to the Texas Department of Crime's website, Trey is still in prison to this day. She is 33 years old. His channel has disappeared from YouTube, but individual videos are still available to the public.

Jasmine Richardson - a twelve-year-old femme fatale

When the policemen entered the Richardson family home, they froze in terror. Inside lay the blood-drenched bodies of a woman, a man, and a little boy. Only twelve-year-old Jasmine was missing. What happened to her? Didn't she come home for the night and thus avoid the tragic fate that affected the rest of her family? Or maybe the killer took her hostage? The search began immediately. Jasmine's face was shown in all Canadian media. The girl found herself quickly, safe, and sound. She avoided death at the hands of a madman because she was a murderer herself.

Debra and Marc have had a difficult past. They were both addicted to drugs and alcohol. At one point, their addictions took their toll on them so much that they decided to change their lives. They signed up for rehab and that's where they made friends.

What brought them together was not only working together on their weaknesses. They loved motorcycle trips, and tried to approach all life problems with hope and optimism. Thanks to hard work on themselves, they finally got straight. In 1991, they decided to get married.

In October 1993, Jasmine was born - their first child. At that time, the family struggled with major financial problems. She had to use vouchers for free lunches. Nevertheless, the couple did not lose hope of improving the situation. Three years later, when they bounced a bit from the bottom, their son Jacob was born.

Marc and Debra were good, caring and caring parents. They devoted a lot of time to their children. They stood behind him when they were hurt. They were demanding but also fair. There were clear rules in their home, but there was also warmth and love.

In 2003, the Richardsons moved to Medicine Hat in Alberta, Canada, where Marc found a well-paid job. After years of scarcity, the family could finally afford to buy a home and a comfortable, peaceful life.

Jasmine was 10 at the time and attended a Catholic school. She was a seemingly ordinary teenager, she studied well, and belonged to the swimming team. She had a group of good friends with whom she liked to spend her free time. Nobody had the slightest objections to her behavior.

When the girl turned 11, she entered an unusually violent and turbulent period of puberty. Almost from month to month, she turned from a chubby child to a girl who could safely pass as a sixteen-year-old girl.

Jasmine not only changed physically - her behavior also turned 180 degrees. The teenager was often angry, had mood swings, and was nervous. Trying to somehow control her emotions, she turned her interests first towards white magic, then Indian culture, and finally - the Gothic subculture.

In a short time, Jasmine has changed beyond recognition. She started wearing black, wearing strong black makeup, and listening to heavy music with gloomy lyrics. All this did not fit the realities of a Catholic school. Gradually the girl became more and more alienated.

The subculture of goths was established in the 1970s. Its members were interested in vampirism, the occult, and the broadly understood issue of death. They were characterized by a dark-romantic approach to the world and a specific approach to love. In their opinion, this feeling was always associated with suffering.

Jasmine had no one to talk to about her new hobbies, so she began searching for soul mates on the Internet. She set up accounts on several websites devoted to the goth subculture. In one of them, she described herself as a "bisexual single girl living only with her dog".

She always overstated her age. She chose dark nicknames like Madness (Madness) and RuAawayDevil (Escaping Devil). With her authority, she named the serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer and Batman.

Eventually, Jasmine made contact with two nineteen-year-old men with an interest in Gothic culture: "Raven" and "Trench Coat". They both didn't know how old she really was. Under their influence, the girl delved even more into the dark atmosphere.

23-year-old Jeremy Steinke was also their enthusiast. When the man met Jasmine, he was already in a relationship with another woman. However, he left her without hesitation in order to devote himself completely to the new love. His chosen one was beautiful and seemed extremely mature. When she agreed to be with him, Jeremy felt as if he was grabbing God by the legs.

Jeremy Steinke came from a pathological family. His mother was addicted to alcohol. She did not care for her son, she often sent him to school in dirty clothes, which earned Jeremy the nickname Śmierdziel (Stinky). The boy was regularly abused at school to the point where he was afraid to come to her at all.

Jeremy, isolated from the normal world, grew into an immature young man prone to dark (but harmless) fantasies. For example, he tried to convince his friends that he was a werewolf for a while.

Nobody took Jeremy seriously. Everyone considered him harmless clumsiness, incapable of aggression. Jeremy, however, had one undoubted advantage - he had a driving license and a stylish car in which you could make chic in the city.

Jasmine and Jeremy's relationship for a long time was purely platonic. The couple wrote to each other sweet - dark e-mails and messages on portals for goths. These texts were childish and exalted. Sometimes teenagers compared themselves to Mickey and Mallory - the main characters in Natural Born Killers.

As the relationship with Jeremy developed, the situation at the Richardsons' home grew increasingly tense. Jasmine stopped getting along with her parents. These were concerned about the abrupt changes their daughter was going through - disturbing clothes, makeup, and lyrics.

One day, Debra and Marc were invited to a corporate party. Marc cared a lot about her, he wanted to make a good impression on the employer. The Richardsons had asked their daughter to look after their younger brother while they were away.

Jasmine agreed to comply with her parents' request. At one point, however, she decided that a better idea to spend the evening was to go out with friends. Jacob was home alone. Terrified, he informed the parents who had to return immediately.

Marc and Debra felt extremely disappointed with Jasmine's attitude. She did not understand what they meant, but in the end, no harm happened to my brother. As part of the punishment, the girl was detained.

Displeased, Jasmine felt unfairly punished. She was taking her anger out on Jacob. The boy finally began to be afraid of her. The Richardsons felt they were losing control of their own daughter. They were also concerned about the fact that the girl spends more and more time online.

Eventually Marc and Debra decided to check Jasmine's computer. It was then that they learned about the double life of their twelve-year-old daughter. What frightened them most was that she had an intimate relationship with a much older man.

The girl was grounded for good. Her parents forbade her to use any electronic devices. But clever Jasmine found a way. She continued her romance via the computer from the school library, which she had unlimited access to.

Jasmine increasingly complained to Jeremy about her parents and their inhumane parenting methods. She felt enslaved. She tried to persuade the boy to help her somehow, but he was reluctant to do so.

One night, the couple made a secret meeting. Jasmine sneaked out of the house to meet her lover. She wanted to consume their relationship at last. Jeremy, who had not been very popular with girls so far, was delighted.

Perhaps Jasmine realized that by being physically close, she would be able to manipulate her lover even better. Since then, she has spoken more and more often about wanting to get rid of her parents in order to be finally free.

Gradually, her e-mails and messages to Jeremy became more and more monothematic. Jasmine kept asking if the boy would kill for her and when he would finally do it. She argued that this was the only way for them to be really together. She wanted them to buy a castle in Germany afterwards and live happily ever after.

In love, Jeremy did not take his girlfriend's words seriously at first. He didn't feel like killing anyone. He tried to avoid the topic or to treat it as harmless fantasizing. Over time, however, his attitude changed.

More and more, he confided to his friends that he would kill Debra and Marc Richardsons, because they were using violence against his beloved. Jeremy's words were turned into a joke. After all, everyone knew that the fly boy wouldn't hurt.

On April 22, 2006, Jeremy drank a lot. First, he drained a twelve-pack of beer himself, then smoked some marijuana. As he said himself, he wanted to lose himself that day. In the evening his friends joined him. Together, they worked out a bottle of vodka, mixing it with harder drugs.

At night, drunk and inebriated, Jeremy drove his car to Jasmine's house. He was going to keep his word and kill her parents. The road to the destination led through the basement window.

Noises from the basement woke Debra asleep. The woman started downstairs to see what had happened. Jeremy was waiting for her, hidden in the darkness, a screwdriver in his hand. He inflicted many blows on the helpless victim with a screwdriver, killing her on the spot.

Marc was next. He went to help his wife, but he had no chance against the drug-stunned attacker, who suddenly became superhuman. Jeremy and his stabbed him with a screwdriver. As Marc was dying, he still managed to choke out "Why?" Jeremy replied, "This is what your daughter wanted." Jasmine watched everything from the top of the stairs.

Marc and Debra were lying dead on the floor in pools of blood. Jasmine then remembered that her eight-year-old brother, Jacob, had to be dealt with. Jeremy was too tired to take care of him, so the teenager decided to finish the work herself.

She ran to Jacob's bedroom. The boy was awake, he was terrified. The sister first tried to strangle him, but the child fought bravely for her life. So Jasmine went for the knife. She inflicted several stab wounds on her brother, then slit his throat.

Afterwards, the murderer cleaned the kitchen knife and put it back in its place. Then she searched her mother's purse and took all the money from it. Meanwhile, drunk and pumped with adrenaline, Jeremy went outside to calm down a bit.

The couple planned to escape together, but the man could not stand the pressure. He jumped in the car and headed for the trailer where he lived. Confused, Jasmine called a cab to join him.

For the next 36 hours, Jasmine and Jeremy drank, partied, and had sex. They didn't tell anyone about what they did. They were completely normal. At one point, they went with friends for a ride to Alberta. They enjoyed themselves and their newly regained freedom.

On April 23, 2006, Jacob's friend Garret called at the Richardsons door. He wanted to visit a friend he liked very much. When no one opened it, the resolute boy decided to approach the back entrance. On the way, he noticed a broken basement window. Unfortunately, he looked inside ...

The police immediately showed up on the scene. They quickly realized that someone had murdered the entire family. Only one member, twelve-year-old Jasmine, seemed to have survived. But the girl was nowhere to be found. Maybe she spent the night with a friend, or maybe she was abducted.

Officers asked for access to her school locker. They thought that its contents would lead them to the teenager's whereabouts. Meanwhile, they found a piece of paper with a hand-drawn plan to murder Debra, Marc and Jacob. There was a figure on the page with the name Jeremy.

Jeremy and Jasmine were detained by the police 36 hours after the murder. The girl from the very beginning blamed all the blame on her lover. She admitted that, in fact, she had witnessed the murder, but could do nothing.

Investigators analyzed the e-mails and messages the couple had exchanged during their relationship. It was clear from them that although Jasmine did not physically kill her parents, she was responsible for their deaths.

The court hid the girl's personal data from the public, and she herself was not tried as an adult. Nevertheless, she was found guilty of three first-degree murders. For this, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison, which was the maximum sentence for minors.

Jeremy heard the same verdict, but as an adult, he was sentenced to 25 years imprisonment with the right to apply for parole after 20 years.

Jasmine Richardson was in a mental hospital for a long time. She participated in therapeutic classes. During her stay in prison, she expressed regret and regret the crime committed. She was released in 2016.

Does vitamin D prevent belly fat from accumulating?

Vitamin D is best known as a calcium regulator in the body that strengthens bones and helps prevent diseases that make them weak. It turns out that vitamin D has other important influencing factors.

A recent study confirmed the previously observed relationship between obesity and lower vitamin D levels, focusing primarily on the possible interaction of different types of adipose tissue with vitamin D.

According to the researchers who conducted the study, excess abdominal fat was associated with lower vitamin D levels:

"The strong association between increased abdominal fat and lower vitamin D levels suggests that people with larger waistlines are more likely to be deficient in vitamin D and should have their levels checked."

However, the study failed to determine whether vitamin D deficiency causes abdominal obesity or whether abdominal fat somehow contributes to vitamin D deficiency. Scientists said future research will try to determine causal links.

US meat and cheese triggered the deadly epidemic of listeriosis

The fatal outbreak of listeriosis in six US states is caused by cold cuts and cheese. This was reported by representatives of the American Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

Listeriosis is especially dangerous for pregnant women, the elderly, and people with weak immune systems. Doctors urge people not to buy and eat cold cuts and cheese in grocery stores. A total of 16 people were infected in New York, Maryland, Illinois, Massachusetts, California, and New Jersey. There were 13 hospitalized people. One patient died in Maryland. Another pregnant woman lost her child. The age of the patients varies from 38 to 92 years, more than half are men.

Interestingly, most of the people who catch the infection are from Eastern Europe or speak Russian. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is investigating why the epidemic appears to disproportionately affect this part of the population.

It is possible that many infected people could recover without medical care, so it is unlikely that these cases will be included in official statistics. “The true number of sick people in this epidemic is probably higher than stated. The extent of the disease may not be limited to conditions with known patients, ”added the center.

The culprit of the infection is Listeria monocytogenes, an immune bacteria that survives cooking with ease. They are usually borne by food or water, as well as unpasteurized milk. Listeria is very difficult to combat. The source of infection can be shop counters and food processing plants, because bacteria live on their surfaces for quite a long time.

Symptoms of listeriosis appear within four weeks of infection but may not appear until 70 days. In some cases, the first symptoms of infection are diarrhea or other gastrointestinal symptoms, along with headache, fever, muscle pain, confusion, loss of balance, and seizures. This infection is the third leading cause of death from food poisoning in the United States, reports CNN.

In July 2022, 23 people with Listeria infection were hospitalized in Florida. One pregnant woman also lost a child.

Are we living in a simulation? There is only one way to test it

The philosopher and mathematician at the University of Oxford, Nick Bostrom, is considered the father of the modern "simulation of reality" hypothesis. In his 2003 study, Bostrom stated that our reality is a computer simulation created by a highly advanced civilization.

Columbia University astronomer David Kipping, when examining this concept, has paid special attention to three aspects (better known as the "Bostrom Trilemate"), each of which can be an independent reality scenario:

Usually, civilizations self-destruct before they can simulate reality;

Advanced civilizations are not interested in simulating reality;

We almost certainly live in a computer simulation.

Bostrom explained that at least one of the three statements must be true, and that is quite logical. Kipping combined the first two assumptions because they lead to the same result - we are not living in a simulation. So the probability that we are living in a computer simulation was 50%.

If one day comes the day when humanity is able to simulate reality, even if it is quite crooked and sloppy, the probability that we are in the simulation ourselves will be greater than 50%. This is explained by the "matryoshka principle" considered by Bostrom and Kipping. The more different realities are built into the simulation, the more powerful the computer responsible for making this "matryoshka" must be. However, the farther the "simulation characters" descend into the "rabbit hole," the less power they have to create their own simulations.

Suppose that to create the most credible reality we will use the principle of quantum superposition (the "picture of reality" will exist only when it has an observer), which will significantly save computing resources. If such an approach turns out to be effective and the generated simulation looks very reliable, then by observing the simulation from the outside, we can only try to find the matrix errors. In addition, it is likely that the characters in the simulation we created will at some point also think about the unreality of what is happening and try to start creating their own simulations.

At this point, the "rabbit hole" will become even deeper and our conclusions about the unreality of what is happening will be given compelling evidence. Today it is impossible to prove or disprove such claims. If we create our own simulation before civilization collapses, then we are most likely living in a simulation that someone else has also created.

Given the speed with which virtual reality technologies have penetrated our lives, we are just steps away from creating parallel realities.

NATO's response to the missile incident depends on Poland's decision

Hitting Polish soil with rockets is not surprising, but it shows the complete irresponsibility of the Russian ruling elite. Now it all depends on the position of Poland. How will the authorities react to the actions of the Russian Federation? - writes military historian Igor Kopytin.

Massive Russian missile attacks on Ukrainian territory clearly show the inability of the aggressor's state to quickly resolve the conflict by military means. Instead of the promised "blitzkrieg", the Russian army has switched to total war and is trying to break the will of resistance of the Ukrainian people by carrying out bombings and missile attacks on civilian targets and infrastructure. At the same time, the Russian leadership does not seem to understand that such a "dualism", based on military historical experience, has a rather opposite effect - hatred of the aggressor and even greater cohesion of the population.

It should be noted that the Russian side has already carried out attacks on the territory of Ukraine near the NATO borders, in the area of the Jaworowski training ground in the Lviv region. The Russian authorities have also repeatedly threatened to attack "NATO convoys" supplying weapons to the defenders of Ukraine. That is why the attack on Polish soil with the use of Russian “highly precise” weapons is not a surprise, but it testifies to the complete irresponsibility of the Russian ruling elite.

Now it all depends on Poland's position, i.e. how it will react to the actions of the Russian Federation. It is known that the President of the Republic of Poland convened the National Security Committee for an extraordinary meeting. It can be assumed that a full-scale war with Russia is not in the interest of the European Union and the largest European states, which are rather in favor of a peaceful settlement of the Russo-Ukrainian war.

In any case, it should be recognized that everyone is now waiting for Poland's decision and it is too early to talk about launching Article 5 of the Washington Treaty. However, it is most likely that Article 4 of the said agreement will be launched, which provides for consultations between NATO coalition partners in the event of a threat to the independence or territorial integrity of one of them.

If you are very speculative, you can assume that NATO might close the skies over Ukraine. In any case, Article 5 of the NATO treaty, which provides for a collective military response in the event of an attack, can only be triggered with the full consent of all members.

One day I had was weird and mystery behind it.

It is just a story of the weird disappearance of my mother-in-law. And the mystery behind it.

So this happened 4 years ago (April 2018). Also, not long after my mother died. My partner and I went to visit his family and stayed with his mother and her partner.

In the evening she starts to have a migraine so she took Nurofen. The next day she was supposed to go with her niece to take her to a client at around 11:30 am. So they should meet up around 10:30-10:45 am so they could have plenty of time to get to a place.

But around 10 am she went somewhere and we thought she had taken her niece earlier for whatever reasons. So we didn't really pay attention at the time.

Around 10:30 come and her niece and my partner's cousin knock on the door to check if her aunt is ready. So we told her that we thought she was with her. Of course, she wasn't. So we start slightly worried at the time.  My partner starts calling his grandparents and his cousin her mum and her partner. None of them see her or hear from her. Same time my partner's "stepdad" was getting ready to take her niece to the meeting and try look around town where she might go. We stayed home just in case she was back.

1 hour has gone past. and my partner "stepdad" came back but she was nowhere to be found. And it was too early to call the police or anything.

So while having my mum's funeral to sort out and making my partner move with me and his paper to sort out we tried waiting for a bit before doing anything.

Around half hour, to an hour she was back. And she was annoyed her niece wasn't home. It was good after 12 pm. She wanted to take her but of course if her nice would wait she would be late and she could potentially lose a good paying customer.

When we asked her where she went her answer was for petrol and shopping. But there was no shopping and the petrol didn't seem to be refilled just used up a bit. And it was refilled later.

To this day we don't know where she went or what she was doing.

She clearly wasn't in any cafe of pub cause her partner was looking for her in these places and people do know them so they would know and tell him if she was. Also, her car would be spotted (it's a red car).

Colleen Stan - 7 years of captivity

When Coleen was hitchhiking in May 1977, she tried to be extremely careful. If the driver offering a ride seemed suspicious to her - she did not get into the car. At the last stage of the journey, she found a real treat - a car driven by a young man with his wife and an eight-month-old baby on board. Coleen climbed inside without hesitation. At that time, she had not yet realized how much she had made a mistake.

In May 1977, twenty-year-old Coleen decided to visit friends in California. The girl lived in Oregon, so she had nearly 800 kilometers to travel. She decided to hitchhike this route. This way of traveling was very popular in the United States at the time.

She made it to Red Buff in California without any problems. It still has about 80 kilometers to travel. Coleen was extremely careful in choosing the drivers she would join. She avoided lonely young men, and had no problem refusing if she felt something was wrong.

Finally, the Hooker family's car pulled up on the side of the road where she was hitchhiking. Cameron sat behind the wheel, and next to him was his wife Janice with her eight-month-old daughter in her arms. Everyone smiled broadly and invited the hitchhiker to the car. Coleen agreed cheerfully.

The four of them traveled in silence until they stopped at a gas station. Coleen went to the toilet. When she came back, she saw a wooden box on the seat that had not been there before. She was surprised at the sight but decided not to do it.

The car started, but only traveled 30 km. Cameron stopped suddenly on a lonely roadside. He took out the knife and forced Coleen to put a wooden box over his head. The terrified woman agreed. The box was muted from the inside and completely opaque. It was obvious that no shouting would help her.

The Hookers drove Coleen to their home in Red Buff, California. Cameron dragged the confused girl to the basement, undressed, and slung her hands to the specially prepared scaffolding. Then he started hitting her with his whip.

The martyred Coleen was later forced to watch her torturers have sex. When they finished, Cameron locked his victim in a coffin-sized wooden box. Coleen couldn't move inside it, couldn't see anything, couldn't reach any sounds. This was how she spent her first night in the torturers' house.

Coleen's days had been more or less the same ever since. She was kept in a basement in a wooden box for 23 hours a day. Cameron gave her an hour a day for a cursory toilet and eating a mean meal. Whenever he felt like it, he would put her by the wrists and wire her: he hit her with a whip or a thin metal wire and electrocuted her.

The girl did not know what time of day or day of the week it was. She was completely cut off from the outside world. When she was "polite" she got the reward of being treated slightly better. For example, she might have been outside the wooden box longer. For disobedience, Cameron punished her cruelly: he starved, beat, and stretched her body on a homemade torture machine.

A month after Coleen was kidnapped, she was able to shower for the first time. She was in poor condition - she lost 10 kg, and she was very weak. For obedience, she was allowed to do minor housework. The Hookers did not give her the clothes back, however. She had to address them as mister/madam and be at their every command.

On January 25, 1978, Cameron told Coleen that he belonged to a powerful organization he called the Company. The company sold female slaves like Cameron. He forced Coleen to sign a handmade contract in which the woman confirmed that she was Hooker's slave and that Hooker had the right to do whatever he wanted with her.

The man threatened Coleen that if she ever opposed him, she would be handed over to another "master" who would be even worse for her. The Hooker House was to be packed with cameras and eavesdropping devices to keep every step of the slave under the Company's control. If she tried to escape, not only she would suffer, but also her whole family.

The contract was also signed by Janice - Cameron's wife. She was also supposed to be a slave, but in this arrangement, she acted as a witness to the transaction. The document stated that Cameron would now take full control of Coleen's body, soul, and property under severe penalties. The girl later received a special collar with an identification number.

Janice was the first victim of Cameron - a sexual degenerate and maniac, fascinated by BDSM. The man seemed completely normal on a daily basis - he worked in a sawmill, was not prone to aggression, and never caused problems.

When he met Janice - an insecure girl with poor health, he turned her into a sex slave and an object of unbridled, brutal fantasies. At first, Janice humbly agreed to it, but at one point she announced that she had had enough.

Cameron found a solution to appease Janice - he suggested that they look for a sex slave for him together. Thanks to this, they will be able to lead a normal life as a family - Cameron will have someone to express his lust on, and Janice will regain her composure. Perhaps even a man will agree to get pregnant.

Janice agreed to the offer. The couple then began cruising the roads of Northern California in the car in search of a suitable candidate for a slave girl. The woman sat next to her partner to ease the possible fears of hitchhikers.

The Hookers' first victim was Marie Elizabeth Spannhake. She was kidnapped a year before Coleen was abducted. She, too, ended up in the basement of a house in Red Buff and was subjected to elaborate torture.

Cameron was not yet able to control his emotions sufficiently at the time. In one of his gruesome sessions, he shot Marie in the stomach. The girl died. The Hookers got rid of her body by throwing it out of the car somewhere on a deserted road. The body has never been found.

From the moment she signed her contract, Coleen lived in perpetual fear. She was firmly convinced that this worthless piece of paper had in fact legal force. She believed every threat the Hookers made.

However, it can be said that since she "declared herself" as a slave, her torturers have placed more trust in her. They knew that the girl was already brainwashed and would not dare to do anything stupid. They allowed her a little more freedom to move around the house.

The Hookers made the decision to move at some point. In the new house, they installed a waterbed with a huge container for bedding. It was this container that became Coleen's new bedroom. The girl spent 23 hours a day there. She was raped with various objects and orally. Cameron had promised Janice that he would never have "real" intercourse with the slave girl.

In 1980, Coleen's situation improved. She was able to leave her prison more often, and even - from home. She accompanied Janice on the trips to the bars. Women drank alcohol then, and Janice seduced lovers for herself. She was jealous of Cameron and resented him for paying so much attention to Coleen. The man understood his partner's frustration, so he allowed her to have sex with casual partners.

What was the Coleen family doing at the time? At first, her relatives did not know that the girl was missing at all, because she did not praise anyone for her trip to California. Her roommate was the first to worry - she was surprised that Coleen had just disappeared without warning.

When the girl's parents realized the situation, they started searching on their own. They traveled the entire route their daughter was supposed to take, questioning service at gas stations and motels. But no one saw the hitchhiker. The State of State reported their daughter missing to the police.

In 1980, Cameron agreed to have Janice call her parents. The girl did not say a word about her real situation. She claimed to be safe and happy to be working as a nanny for a couple she met while hitchhiking.

In March 1981, Coleen and Cameron visited the house of the girl's parents. She maintained that the man was her fiancé. Parents noticed that their daughter had lost a lot of weight and her hair was very thin, but they did not want to spoil the joyful atmosphere.

They suspected that she might have joined a sect because she wore self-made clothes and did not have any money of her own. In the photos from that visit, however, Coleen seems happy. He hugs Cameron and smiles broadly. She did everything so that no one would guess the truth. She was convinced that the Company was watching over her all the time.

In 1983, Coleen was so trusted by her tormentor that she was free to leave the house to work in the garden. During this time, she was seeing the Hooker neighbors, who introduced the girl as a nanny to their two children.

The girl also got permission from her master to work in a nearby motel. Cameron wanted her to contribute to the home budget. Coleen never took advantage of these opportunities to try to escape. She was too scared of the consequences the Company would take against her.

At one point, Cameron proposed to Janice that Coleen become his second wife. For the woman, it was a drop that filled the cup of jealousy. She was furious, but at the same time was afraid to stand up. To deal with her emotions, she began going to church and reading the Bible more often.

Gradually, she felt more and more doubts about the lifestyle she led with her husband. Admittedly, Cameron kept telling her that she had to be obedient as a wife, even citing specific Scriptures to support his words, but Janice couldn't shake the thought that she was doing something very wrong.

Janice finally confided her dilemmas to the pastor. At first, however, she did not tell him the whole truth. She said her husband makes her live in a threesome and she refuses to accept it. The pastor made the woman aware that her husband's behavior was reprehensible, and she had the right to object.

After talking to Cameron who said she wanted an entire harem of slaves, Janice finally decided to act. One day in August 1984, she went to the motel where the girl worked. She revealed that no Company exists and that the contract the three of them signed was a worthless piece of paper. Coleen is free and can leave whenever she wants.

Since then, things have happened very quickly - Janice took Coleen to the pastor. He stated that both women had to escape from Cameron's house as soon as possible. It also happened. The next day, when the man left for work at the sawmill, they both packed in a hurry. Janice took Coleen to the bus station while she went to her parents.

Coleen still made a call to Cameron. She said she was leaving and would never come back. The man cried out and begged the woman to change her mind. But Coleen was free now - despite brainwashing, she broke her fear and there was no force to stop her.

Janice agreed to tell about her husband's crimes, provided the prosecution did not bring any charges against her. And so it happened. Her testimony was corroborated by an investigation that found the torture devices, as well as photos and still undeveloped videos of Cameron's macabre fantasies.

The trial began in 1985. The man was accused of kidnapping, rape, oral rape, foreign body rape, and sodomy. His defense attorneys maintained that Coleen had voluntarily consented to sex and cruel treatment. They argued that she had never made any attempt to escape, although she had had many opportunities to do so, and therefore there was no question of any detention.

During the hearing, as many as 6 expert psychologists were appointed, who explained what was brainwashing and Stockholm syndrome. In their words, Coleen's behavior was perfectly normal under the circumstances.

Cameron Hooker was sentenced to 104 years in prison. Coleen Stan expressed her joy that she would never hurt anyone again. She also stated that she has forgiven her torturer and even prays for him.

After all this nightmare, she tried to get her life back together. She got a job as an accountant, and she was also a volunteer at a telephone line for victims of domestic violence. She married several times and also gave birth to a child. Unfortunately, her marriage ended in divorce and the child was imprisoned. He lives in California to this day, just like Janice Hooker.

MOTHERLAND: FORT SALEM review

Motherland: Fort Salem is an alternate version of America. Witches work for the government in return for non-persecution.

The action takes place in an alternative America, where witches ended persecution against them by making a deal with the government to fight for the country. Motherland: Fort Salem follows three young women, from training to deployment, fighting terrorist threats using supernatural tactics.

Interesting fact: The series was filmed in Vancouver, Canada.

Three hundred years ago, during the Salem witch trials, an Agreement was made under which witches would serve the United States as an army, in exchange for freedom, security, and the use of power with impunity. Thanks to this, nowadays, young, magical girls end up in a school - Fort Salem, where they train to be soldiers serving the country. Soon, young adepts will have to face a group of rebellious witches calling themselves SPREE, who despise the Agreement and are behind terrorist attacks on non-magical US citizens.

When it comes to Motherland: Fort Salem, I would like to praise the story concept and the amazing combination of drama and fantasy from the very beginning. The creator himself admitted that he loves the theme of witches and the use of witchcraft, and his enthusiasm for the plot moved to the quality of production.

In the role of the main characters, we get three young girls who have just joined Fort Salem and started training as soldiers. Abigail comes from a military family, is extremely ambitious and does not tolerate laziness or anything other than perfection, and requires the same from her team. Raelle is her opposite. Rebellious, she looks for an answer to the question of how her mother died and who was responsible for it. The stubborn nature and "it-all-in-my-ass" attitude will keep the tension between her and Abigail going. But don't worry! Since we have a leader and a rebel, the team will also include a diplomat. Tally usually stands somewhere between two companions, trying to contain their outbursts of anger. Tally herself is sweet as honey and full of empathy and does not hide that she lives to help. Such a ray of sunshine.

Thanks to different characters, the viewer has a chance to see different points of view on which matters and what is currently happening, so we decide with whom we agree. Personally, I really appreciate this variety, because thanks to the colorful main characters, the whole series felt more colorful and full. Besides, I can honestly say that at the turn of the first season, my liking and dislike of individual girls from the trio changed, all thanks to the well-presented character evolution.

I love when in a series what we feel about the main characters changes at the turn of the episodes and the development of the plot. Because it means that the creators focused on evolution and that the characters should be constantly changing under the influence of the experiences and people with whom they surround themselves. This was the case with Abigail, Raelle, and Tally. Regardless of how you feel about them at the beginning of the series, I can bet it will change and after the finale, you will be surprised by who you support.

Not only do the characters evolve, the relationships between them also evolve. Of course, the most interesting change will be between the trio when the girls are faced with the challenge of learning to see the other (or third) perspective, but no less interesting will be the trio's bond with those around them. Abigail with her strict mother, Raelle with the object of sighs, and Tally learning that not everything is either white or black. Observing these transformations on the screen is fascinating.

Applause for the creators for a perfectly matched cast! So many fresh faces, so many charming personalities, so many colors! I love meeting new names, and in the first season of Motherland: Fort Salem there are quite a few of them, the vast majority of which are promising talents that I hope will open the door to a further acting career.

There are a couple of core threads in the show that combines to form a really interesting mix. We have some teen drama here, with heart problems, betrayals, likes and dislikes, jealousy, rivalry, and infatuation. Of course, we have fantasy elements, since the main characters and characters are witches who actively use their powers. There are a lot of actions, secrets, and thrills related to the dangerous SPREE group. The whole thing is well thought out and well run, thanks to which the series is absorbing.

After the first episode, I thought, "wow, this is going to be interesting!" and so it was until the very end. Dynamics is a strong point of this production. It is she who makes everything seem smoother, that the action is rubbed in front of the viewer, engaging him in the story. Anyway, let's be honest: witches versus the world is a motive that had to work. The finale, on the other hand, perfectly closes a chapter in the trio's history, while opening a whole new one, leaving us with some REALLY good cliffhangers.

The production, however, does not lack the so-called "Mature content", i.e. scenes intended for slightly older viewers. Due to the presence of curses, violence, and even sex in the series, I recommend the title to recipients AT LEAST 17+. Perfect as entertainment and stress reliever, especially for young adults.

The first season of Motherland: Fort Salem definitely did its job, enchanting me with the universe and making ten episodes enough to keep me attached to the main characters and looking forward to meeting again with increasing curiosity. I believe that the creator still has a lot of aces up his sleeve, and season two will be a great extension of the open threads in series number 1.

I love how the show absorbed me, I love how, despite being unambitious, he completely bought me with the creation of the world and the characters. It is full of feminism and brilliantly presented female strength. Applause also for showing a GREATLY developing friendship and proving that there are different kinds of evil, and the perception of individual events depends on the perspective. If you like light, addictive series, full of magic, drama, love, friendship, and fighting injustice - I heartily recommend Motherland: Fort Salem. I believe that it will charm you, just like it was with me.

And of course, seasons 2 and 3 had a lot of plot twists and a great continuation of the story. At an end of season 2 when it was a time of transition at Fort Salem in the aftermath of the discovery of the resurrected Kamarilla. The question still unanswered is how long it will take for the U.S. Army and the Spree to join forces against a common enemy. The smart money is on the two sides, wasting half of the season attempting separate plans of attack. It would appear that the Spree would have an advantage since they are not wearing uniforms and aren't such a readily available target. But they must have a mole in their group since the Kamarilla knew where to attack the Spree leadership. Who's not to say there isn't a spy inside Fort Salem as well?

Motherland: Fort Salem has clarified that the relationship between humans and witches is a strained and one-way one. Under the Salem Accord of 1692, the witches would be drafted into the U.S. Army to serve as the nation's military. In return, well, they got to live.

Still, it's understandable that the weaker but more numerous humans would fear that the stronger but small group of witches might turn on them. And Spree, for whatever reason, feeds right into that paranoia.

  • Are you glad Tally got reverted to her bubbly self?
  • How did Raelle and Abigail get their power?
  • Does it have some connection to that black disease?

Despite having two seasons aired and gaining fans worldwide, Motherland: Fort Salem's third season is it's last. The show had a great run with a talented cast, and fans are sad to see it come to an end. Nevertheless, fans are ready to see what unfolds in the remaining episodes of the final season. Season 3 answers many questions after the explosive ending of season 2. Finishing a journey is not easy, but Motherland: Fort Salem is showing off its impeccable storytelling, brilliant production, and excellent post-production work. The confrontations between witches, plot twists, and the powers of each witch that appears in the show, as well as the way in which the series knows how to delve into the personal stories of the heroines and how they work as a team, are, without a doubt, the key to the success of Motherland: Fort Salem. The show managed to engage sci-fi and fantasy fans while wrapping the story with a careful gender and feminist perspective. Motherland: Fort Salem season 3 follows in the footsteps of the previous two seasons. As the show draws to a close, here's a look back at the show's journey that changed the way witches' stories are told.

Motherland: Fort Salem is great at showing the story, and keeping interesting. Made me want to know what happens next. And when one part finish you just want to watch more.
