Sleep

 Sleep is an extremely important part of your day-to-day life.

Are you constantly tired? Are you getting enough sleep? The amount of sleep per day depends on your age. According to the article titled How Much Sleep Do We Really Need? On  Sleepfoundation.org you need:

14-17 hours if you’re aged between 0-3 months;

12-15 hours if you’re aged between 4-11 months;

11-14 hours if you’re aged between 1-2 years;

10-13 hours if you’re aged between 3-5 years:

9-11 hours if you’re aged between 6 – 13 years

8-10 hours if you’re aged between 14-17 years

7-9 hours if you’re aged between 18-25 years

7-9 hours if you’re aged between 26- 64 years

7-8 hours if you’re over the age of 65 years

Are you getting enough sleep? Did you wake up feeling down or moody? Not getting enough sleep can leave you this way. Getting the amount of sleep that you need in order  start the off feeling energised and positive. You’ll more lIkely have a productive day and less likely to loose concentration.

Scientific research has shown links between not getting enough sleep and one’s ability to remember what they have previous learnt. For example, you’re on a training course for your new job. You’re so excited by this amazing opportunity that you didn’t get enough sleep the night before. You’ve gone on training course feeling rather tired, but you just stick it out until the end, probably with the help of a few large Coffees.  A week later you’re due to start your new job, but you can’t seem to remember what you learnt on the training course. This is because without getting enough sleep the neurons in your brain become overworked. Your brain’s neurons work to process and coordinate information that you have learnt, yet when they are overworked they become simply too tired to do their job.

So if you’re having trouble remembering that thing you that your boss asked you to do , it’s probably because you were too tired to remember. I wouldn’t use that as an excuse as somehow I doubt hat your boss would be mighty impressed.
