It was late at night, and Grace was just getting ready for bed when her phone suddenly rang. Fumbling in the dark, she blindly reached for her phone, feeling the cold metal of the device against her skin. Groggily, she answered, expecting to hear a friend on the other end.
But instead, she heard a familiar voice. Except, it was not a voice from her present, but rather her future.
Surprised and confused, Grace listened as the future version of herself warned her about the danger she was in. Her grandad was not what he seemed, and she was in danger if she stayed around him.
In shock, Grace stumbled to her feet, grabbing her coat and car keys. She drove quickly and urgently to her grandad's home. When she arrived, she saw a terrifying sight – her granddad, his face twisted in anger and holding a gun.
Panicking, Grace screamed, but it was too late. A gunshot rang out, and she dove for cover. After a few moments of confusion, the situation was diffused and her future self's warning came true – her grandad had indeed been capable of danger.
Shaken, Grace thanked her future self for the warning and vowed to be careful in the future. From this day forward, she would make sure to stay safe and thank her lucky stars for the gift of foresight.
At midnight, a frantic father pounded on the door of a secluded castle in the mountains. When the door opened, he fell to his knees.
'Please, you must help me!' he pleaded, trembling. 'My child has been kidnapped by kidnappers!'
The person in the door was a mysterious vampire, an outsider to the small town. He didn't answer right away, but instead just looked at the frantic father.
'They took her,' the father sobbed, 'She's only five!'
The vampire finally spoke. 'I know who they are,' he said, coldly. 'Follow me.'
The father followed the vampire down a long, dark hallway to a dusty room full of weapons. The vampire handed the father a wooden stake and a flask of holy water.
'You must find them before sunrise,' he said, fixing the father with a stare so intense the man almost staggered back. He nodded mutely.
The vampire opened the door to the dark night. 'Go!'
The father ran into the night, following the trails left by the kidnappers. He ran for hours until he reached an abandoned barn. There, he found the kidnappers and the poor little girl, tied up and crying. Without hesitation, he grabbed the stake and the holy water and killed the kidnappers while they slept.
The father scooped up the child and, with tears streaming down his face, carried her back to the vampire's castle. The vampire was waiting outside, and he took the little girl from the man's arms with a relieved smile.
'Thank you,' the father whispered, still trembling. The vampire nodded and disappeared inside with the little girl.
The next morning, the town buzzed with rumors about the vampire who saved the little girl from the kidnappers. The father walked among them, a thousand times more grateful for the vampire's assistance than he could ever express.
No matter what people said about the vampire, he knew that saving his child was an act more heroic than any other.
***************
Liz and her family had just moved into their new home in a peaceful suburban neighborhood. On their first night, everything seemed perfectly normal. That is until Liz noticed something strange about her new neighbors.
Whenever Liz passed by their house, she noticed the curtains were always drawn, and no one ever seemed to be outside. She also noticed that the neighbors never seemed to leave their house during the day and that she never saw them out at night. She couldn't help but wonder why.
One night, Liz was walking home from a late shift at work when she noticed a strange figure moving across the street. It was a woman, dressed in a long black cloak and wearing a hood. Liz's heart was racing as she crept closer, hiding in the shadows to get a better look.
That's when she noticed the woman's eyes. They were red and glowing in the darkness. Suddenly, Liz realized that her neighbors were vampires. She ran home, terrified. She stayed inside for days, unable to stop thinking about her neighbors. She wanted to tell her family, but she was too afraid. Finally, one night, Liz mustered up the courage to confront her neighbors. She knocked on their door and asked if they were vampires. They confirmed her suspicions and invited her in. At first, Liz was scared. But after talking with them for a while, she realized that they weren't so bad. In fact, they were very kind and generous. Since then, Liz and her family have become good friends with their vampire neighbors. They even exchange presents during the holidays. Though Liz will never forget the moment she realizes that her neighbors are vampires, she no longer fears them. In fact, she's glad that she got to know them.
She went to the house like no other. It was situated on a hill, surrounded by tall, dark trees that cast an eerie silhouette against the night sky. It had been abandoned for years, and it seemed like no one had ever set foot inside.
But then one day, a curious Liz decided to venture inside. What she found was a house filled with traps and secrets. The visitor soon realized that the house had been designed to kill anyone who set foot inside. He desperately tried to escape, but it was too late. He was already caught in the house's deadly clutches.
Her death sent a chill through the entire town. Everyone wanted to know who or what was responsible for the death. Eventually, news spread that the house had been haunted by a vengeful spirit. It was said that the spirit had been so angry at the people who had abandoned it that it had decided to take its revenge by killing anyone who dared to enter.
The house was never occupied again, and its secrets remained hidden within its walls. To this day, no one knows who or what was responsible for the death of the first and only visitor. But everyone in town knows to keep their distance from the haunted house on the hill.
