"If You Believe in something, you finally Believe in me." Meaning: if you believe in anything, you finally believe in me (i.e. in 😈). I found an electronic track that sings this phrase in a hypnotic synthesized voice. (➡️ Eli Brown - Believe).
➡️ People over the centuries have been in contact with the tragic situation in this world practically all the time. Cold, heat, bad weather, diseases for which there was no cure (it was simply the end), pain, wars, violence, death, hunger, accidents, injuries, total lack of even basic knowledge, fear, the tyranny of the local elite, the need for absolute social subordination hard work that yielded little, debts, mental suffering and disorders, discomfort, and so on.
This made it necessary to develop defense mechanisms designed so as not to simply go crazy. As a side note, I'm still surprised that so many people do mostly what they have to do, hardly do what they want to do, and haven't gone completely insane yet. That's what these mechanisms are for. The first and most important - anesthetic substances, such as alcohol. Human neuroscience is simply botched, and thoroughly so. This is one of the main reasons that practically prevent us from being happy. Well, when we do something, achieve, eat, take, when something cool happens, we have a short but rapid burst of happiness hormones, mainly dopamine.
But then a surprise - after a short time there is an overload of brain neurons (simple burnout of contacts), enzymes remove the excess of these hormones, dopamine receptors are down-regulated (down-regulated and insensitized), and consequently this everyday state of grayness, dullness, frustration and discouragement comes back. Sobriety is just not fun for most people. Well, if God had wanted people not to drink, he would have created the world differently.
➡️ Other defense mechanisms include m. religions and political doctrines. Each of them tries in its own way to answer the two most important questions of humanity, which have been the same since the beginning of time:
1️⃣ What is the meaning of our existence?
2 ️⃣ Why is this world so bad?
In the past, these were monotheistic religions and the belief that power comes from God himself, so you have to listen to it and work hard for their luxuries for a pittance. Even the generation of today's 30-40-year-olds is convinced that with Polish salaries you have to work hard and give your best. Currently, there is a cult of matter itself, the meaning of life is work, earning and consumption, and why is it so sticky? Because it's all because of patriarchy, ignorance or lack of faith in what the authorities, scientists, expert bodies or corporations think. And don't think too much about it, don't think too much at all. Just consume and enjoy.
➡️ Millenia has passed, people have come up with a lot of different versions of perceiving the world, views, ways to regulate the economy and methods of exercising power.
Have any of them brought happiness, peace, prosperity, prosperity to the world? Exactly.
That is why I pay little attention to what is commonly taken as the truth. It has changed and will continue to change. I experience, research, experiment as a self-proclaimed virtuoso artist, I analyze by breaking down into prime factors and then I make a synthesis. And in this process I come to various crumbs of the so-called "perennial philosophy", i.e. what is a binder, a link between various areas of life. These crumbs are scattered across the vastness of the entire Earth, hidden in various views, looks, writings, films, messages, legends, fields of science, culture, art.
➡️ Combining them together, you can see basically the same laws, rules and mechanisms that govern this system. Then there is fear in confrontation with the absolute vastness of our tragic situation. You can then go insane (like Philip Dick), or try to cut yourself off a bit and relax to have the strength for further experiments and experiences. And most of all, you may come to the conclusion that some questions will never be answered. Because it's a bit like a laboratory mouse stuck in a cage wanting to know the perspective, knowledge and thinking of a lab technician.
And you, what do you think about all this? I invite you to the discussion.
