IT IS ILLUSIONS THAT GIVE STRENGTH TO LIFE

It is said that the less a person knows, the easier it is to live. Knowledge gives freedom, but it makes you unhappy. This is an extended version of an article that was published recently.

➡️ The concept of faith is more than just believing in religious dogma. Faith is inseparable from hope. Hope it gets better or at least good. Belief in political ideologies, each of which promises a better world, is also faith.

Now, after the actual collapse of the great religions (zealous believers are perhaps a few percent of the population), there is another faith. So the belief that after finishing school you will find a nice job, then you will meet an equally nice woman, you will have two children and a dog, and you will write your positive "end of history" in an elegant house in the suburbs, or at least in an apartment on a development estate. And then the angels in heaven will weep with emotion, and the end credits will announce: and they lived happily ever after.

Entire generations born in the 70s, 80s, 90s and 00s grew up with this belief. However, due to the massive access to information (internet), the younger generation is completely devoid of illusions, hopes and dreams. They know that they are probably going to be screwed in Januszex Sp. z o.o., renting an apartment for the rest of your life, and difficult vicissitudes in relationships or almost complete lack of them.

Then a new kind of belief develops: YOLO, meaning you only live once. Total atheism and materialism, focusing only on hedonism and pleasure, as much consumption as possible, getting women (a small group of men can do that), or getting handsome men who create tinder harems.

➡️ this is an expression of deep human fear of the unknown, of the abyss of infinity and ignorance.

Each faith gives ready answers to these questions, and calms this fear.

In turn, the search for knowledge about this world piece by piece deprives faith in anything, but also hopes and dreams.

These sweet illusions are true, true, but they give strength and drive to live, to somehow feel the meaning of existence in this vale of tears.

Knowledge deprives you of a sense of meaning, purpose and the will to live. Because this world is not very successful or cool. And there is no answer why this world is like this. She won't be until she dies. Either you accept it or you don't. If not - then you can, for example, return to religious faith, throw yourself into the colorful and shimmering neon signs of esotericism, or do anything else. But it won't change anything.

And then you must fend for yourself, sailing the sea of infinity.

➡️ So it's not the "bad internet" that is the cause of this and no other attitude of young people. But ACCESS TO INFORMATION and KNOWLEDGE. Older generations didn't have it, and entering adulthood at the age of 25, they entered full of various false ideas about life. They were at the stage of children believing that if they were good, Santa Claus would give them a bag of candy. And later life verified these beliefs. Young people, on the other hand, have no illusions from the start. So cynicism, Machiavellianism, attitude towards the greedy accumulation of goods and pleasures, or depression, discouragement and nihilism remained.

And to the other extreme? What if we provided people with various goods so that life would not be a struggle for survival from month to month, but would be ... life? This was demonstrated by Calhoun's experiment on mice. There was unlimited access to food. Within a few generations, they degenerated horribly and the colony died out. Prosperity has a similar effect on people – just look at the well-fed Western societies. Both bad and so bad, and many problems of human and world nature are insoluble.

For the very basis of the world is an error or a gross imperfection. Solving one old problem creates several new problems. It is an endless error matrix that is just entering the era of a new dark age of the abyss.
