Autumn, the time of infection. How to deal with them?

Autumn is a time when our immune system is put to many tests. During this period, we are hit by various viral infections, which we can most often deal with ourselves using immediate pharmacological measures such as anti-inflammatory drugs or vitamins. On the other hand, bacterial infections are more complicated and usually end with antibiotic treatment. What should we know about it?

The antibiotic has a positive effect on the fight against bacterial infection, eliminating pathogens. Unfortunately, it is not indifferent to our bodies. Killing dangerous bacteria also harms the good, useful ones. Therefore, during such treatment, remember to take probiotics.

Antibiotics kill bacteria but also change the composition of our gut microflora. Both the good bacteria and the pathogenic bacteria live in our intestines. To be healthy, the levels of these good microbes must be high. They help us build immunity and, consequently, maintain health.

If we want to avoid the side effects of taking an antibiotic, we must take care of our diet. During antibiotic therapy, the bacterial flora is disturbed, and the antibiotic destroys not only pathogenic microorganisms but also beneficial bacteria. Therefore, during the treatment, we often complain of abdominal pain, indigestion, and diarrhea. In order to prevent these ailments, it is worth including probiotics in our diet while taking the antibiotic. These beneficial bacteria will protect the microbiota. When buying probiotics, you should pay attention to which of them are resistant to the action of the antibiotic.

When we are sick, we should make sure that our daily diet does not lack adequate minerals and vitamins. The diet should be easy to digest and warm up. It is worth including foods rich in fiber. The body will also be positively influenced by silage or products full of probiotic bacteria, such as kefirs, yogurts, or acidophilic milk.

A well-balanced diet will help you recover, and when you stay with us for a long time, it will support the body's immunity.
