Whether you believe the predictions or are skeptical about occult predictions, there's no denying that there were strange correlations between Nostradamus's predictions and important historical events. What about a future that's yet to come? Here are just a few of the predictions of Nostradamus that we should pay attention to in 2022.
Nostradamus, a French astrologer, and physician whose predictions made him famous and loyal supporters during his lifetime, was born in 1503. Over the centuries since his death, people have credited him with accurately predicting landmark events in history, from the French Revolution to the capture of power by Adolf Hitler, the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, and even the coronavirus pandemic of 2020. His book "Prophecies" was published in 1555 and has since brought him worldwide fame. According to Nostradamus, the world will end in the year 3797.
Little is known about his childhood. Early in his life, he studied with his grandfather, Jean de St. Remy, who saw great intellect and potential in his grandson. The young Nostradame took lessons in Latin, Greek, Hebrew, and math. His grandfather is also believed to have introduced him to the ancient rituals of Jewish tradition and to the teachings of astrology.
At the age of 14, Nostradame entered the University of Avignon to study medicine. However, after a year he had to leave the university due to the outbreak of the plague. During this time, he traveled researching herbs, and working as a pharmacist. In 1522 he entered the University of Montpelier to obtain a doctorate in medicine. He obtained a license to practice medicine in 1525. He also romanized his name - as was the custom of many medieval scientists - from Nostradame to Nostradamus.
Over the next few years, Nostradamus traveled through France and Italy, treating plague victims. He has developed some very progressive methods of dealing with this disease. He did not bleed his patients, instead of practicing effective hygiene and encouraging the removal of infected corpses from city streets. He became famous for creating the "rose pill", a herbal lozenge made from rosehips (rich in vitamin C) that provided relief to patients struggling with mild cases of plague.
In 1538, Nostradamus made a remark about a statue in the church, which could have resulted in an accusation of heresy. When ordered to appear before the church inquisition, he wisely decided to leave the province and traveled for several years in Italy, Greece, and Turkey. It is believed that during these journeys, Nostradamus became acquainted with ancient books and ancient beliefs. One of the legends of Nostradamus says that during his journey through Italy, he came across a group of Franciscan monks, recognizing one of them as a future Pope. This monk, called Felice Peretti, was ordained Pope Sixtus V in 1585, thus fulfilling Nostradamus' prophecy.
Nostradamus began to drift further away from medicine in favor of the occult. He spent many hours in his office meditating over a bowl filled with water and herbs. Meditation was supposed to induce trance and visions. It is believed that these visions were the basis of his predictions. In 1550, Nostradamus wrote his first almanac containing astrological information and predictions for the coming year. The almanacs were very popular at the time because they provided useful information for farmers and merchants, and also contained entertaining excerpts from local folklore and predictions for the coming year. Nostradamus began to write about his visions and incorporated them into his first almanac. The publication met with great response and contributed to the spread of his name throughout France, which encouraged Nostradamus to write more.
In 1554, the visions of Nostradamus became an integral part of his works, and the scholar decided to compile a huge work, which he entitled Centuries. He planned to write 10 volumes that would contain 100 predictions, forecasting the next 2,000 years. In 1555, he published Les Prophesies, a collection of major long-term predictions. Knowing that he was exposing himself to persecution by the Church, he developed a method of concealing the meaning of the prophecy by using rhymed quatrains and a mixture of languages: Greek, Italian, Latin, and Provencal. Interestingly, Nostradamus had good relations with the Roman Catholic Church. It is believed that he was never accused of heresy by the Inquisition because he did not mention the practice of magic in his works. His popularity grew, and he himself became one of the most famous figures during the Renaissance.
Throughout his life, Nostradamus suffered from gout and arthritis. In recent years, the disease has plagued him more and more. Without appropriate treatment, the condition likely led to congestive heart failure. In late June 1566, Nostradamus asked to see a lawyer to draw up a will, leaving much of his property to his wife and children. On the evening of July 1, he had told his secretary Jean de Chavigny: "You will not see me alive at sunrise." The next morning he was found dead.
Most of the predictions Nostradamus composed in the last years of his life. He predicted disasters, earthquakes, wars, floods, invasions, murders, droughts, battles, and plagues. Enthusiasts of his works ascribe to him predicting many events in world history, including the French Revolution, the rise to power of Napoleon and Hitler, the atomic bomb, the attack on JFK, and the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001.
In 1555, the French astrologer and occultist Michel de Nostradame (better known as Nostradamus) published his famous work entitled "Les Prophéties". This book, containing 942 poetic quatrains, allegedly foretold the future. The famous astrologer is credited with foretelling everything from the birth of Hitler to the shooting of JFK.
Did Nostradamus warn against rising prices and economic problems. Many interpreters of his predictions believe that this passage may refer to the events that will take place in 2022.
"There are no abbots, no monks, no novices to learn;
Honey will cost a lot more than candle wax. "
"The high price of wheat will make
that the man will be so moved
that he will eat his neighbor in despair. "
Political instability, Brexit and the global pandemic have contributed to the inflation boom in recent years. It is safe to assume that Nostradamus predicted that we would not be surprised if 2022 would be the year when inflation and hunger would lead to a worldwide rebellion.
"Sudden death of the first hero, he will be changed and put another in his kingdom."
For some believers in Nostradamus' prophecies, the poem signals the disappearance of an important member of the international political community. Some speculate that it may be Kim Jong-Un, the leader of North Korea, others that it may be Queen Elizabeth of Great Britain, and there is no shortage of Joe Biden, the current president of the United States.
"Like the sun, the head will seal the shining sea, the living fish of the Black Sea will almost boil."
Did Nostradamus predict a solar storm of unprecedented proportions in 2022 that would cause the poles to melt and sea levels to rise? Many people believe that in other forecasts, the famous astrologer predicted earthquakes, floods, and great droughts.
In one of his Centuries, Nostradamus invokes "a new wise man with a solitary brain", and also speaks of "immortality". Many interpreters of the French astrologer's predictions believe that he could have meant Elon Musk, who is building new robots equipped with increasingly perfect artificial intelligence.
"The holy temples of the Roman time will throw away the foundations of their foundation." Those who have been devoted to interpreting the writings of the French prophet assure that this verse refers to the European Union and predicts its disintegration, which was to begin with Brexit and end this year with the dissolution of the European political community.
