World of Fallout 4- Post-apocalyptic Boston hides many secrets…

We all know that, above all, in open-world games, you can find a lot of secrets, hidden references to pop culture, or unmarked spots with an interesting story or equipment to take. It is no different in the case of Fallout 4, in which we are still discovering new curiosities. The virtual world created by Bethesda is so vast that it will probably take us many more weeks to thoroughly explore the Boston area. We can also expect the birth of many myths, but this is only an additional motivation to explore. After all, some players are still looking for Yeti in GTA San Andreas to this day…

Fallout 4 has a huge number of locations marked on the map. It takes dozens of hours to visit them all, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. A lot of interesting places are not marked either on the main map or in the lower part of the display during exploration. For this reason, it is very difficult to find the most hidden ones. The largest accumulation of unmarked places can be found in the ruins of downtown Boston. We can enter many buildings there, including shops, tenement houses, basements and even a gym. Most of them are filled with randomly generated enemies and valuable equipment. While performing the main part of the story, you have certainly noticed an object falling from the sky that crashed somewhere near the city. As it turns out, it was an alien ship that appears on the map only after a dozen or so hours of the game or after visiting several other places. The UFO will crash east of the Oberland Station, and you can find an Alien in the nearby cave, from whom you can take a unique Alien Blaster along with a limited supply of ammo.

Most objects in Fallout 4 have a history. Some of them have even been reconstructed on the basis of the real Boston, so tourists and residents of this city can find many similarities and even try to locate their own homes in the virtual world! The most observant fans of exploration will find terminals and notes telling about the events that took place in given locations before the War. Thanks to them, we can read about the adventures of the characters, their family relationships, or even their reaction to the first explosions of atomic bombs. Some of these stories make you feel good, but others can depress even the most optimistic players.

Most players will never notice this, but there are several posters in Fallout 4 with phone numbers depicted on them. All of them can be called using, of course, real telecommunication devices. Unfortunately, we won't talk to anyone, because the voice in the handset belonging to the Vault-Tek answering machine will reply that we are waiting in line, and only a few hundred hours later we will be contacted by a call-center employee. I wonder if the creators will keep this promise, but I don't think anyone can afford such an absurd phone bill ... It's also worth listening to conversations with other characters, including bandits, Supermutants, or robots. Their dialogues can be extremely interesting and even comment on the latest achievements of the players. The best story is about a mad warrior who regularly attacks bandit outposts. According to the conversation, this warrior was unarmed, but he perfectly imitated the sounds of grenade pins being removed, an assault rifle being fired, or even a motorcycle engine starting up. Some players have set themselves the goal of finding this individual, and we have a feeling that someday they will succeed.

In a few places in the game, there are seemingly useless vending machines, in which you can pick up perfectly preserved, pre-war sweets with a special paw. You need a high Luck factor to get them. The obtained cookie can be used to temporarily improve your stats. Perfectly preserved food, household items, or clothes can also be found in very few locations, such as some Vaults, the town of Jamaica Plain, or the house of the Cabot family. They are so rare that it is worth using them as decorations in your own settlement.

We all know that settlements are vulnerable to attacks from the outside, but hardly anyone would expect an attack from within. Synths created by the Institute are able to infiltrate our bases disguised as ordinary settlers. To make it more interesting, robots can even take the form of ... Brahmins. Mutated cows sometimes come to settlements on their own, and there is a high probability that one of them will actually be a Synth. Even the dogs that befriend the iconic Domeat can turn out to be robots. Speaking of a quadruped: if we add a teddy bear to his inventory, it's worth stopping for a moment and seeing how our friend will react. On our way, we can also come across the so-called random special events. Usually, it's a simple ambush of bandits on caravans, but sometimes we can also meet ordinary inhabitants of the Wasteland fighting with their own doppelgangers - Synths, scammers claiming to be one of our companions (usually Preston Garvey), or crooks trying to sell us useless items for a considerable amount of money.

Have you come across any unexpected locations, characters, or events in Fallout 4? Did you find something you can't explain?

The curse of Kazimierz Jagiellończyk or why archaeologists died after opening the tomb of the Polish king?

The curses of the pharaohs are known all over the world - opening an ancient tomb would bring evil spirits to suffer. In 1922, after the discovery of Tutankhamun's tomb, archaeologists began to die one by one, which led to the belief that they were cursed. However, these cases can be explained scientifically, as the participants in the excavations were of advanced age.

A similar situation took place after the opening of the tomb of the Polish monarch, Kazimierz Jagiellończyk, who ruled in the years 1447-1492. The king was buried in a luxurious tomb, and according to sources, during his lifetime he ordered a warning to be placed on it: "The destroyer of this work will be cursed."

The tomb was opened by a group of scientists in 1973. Inside, rotten wood and the bones of the monarch and his wife were noticed. After several hours of research, the archaeologists began experiencing headaches, heart problems and other health problems. Soon after, the researchers began to die.

Was the tomb of Kazimierz Jagiellończyk cursed? Although many people believe this, scientists believe that the cause of death of the researchers is exposure to pathogenic bacteria and fungi. According to experts, huge amounts of dangerous mold were discovered in the crypt. High concentrations of Aspergillus have been found in the air, which can cause aspergillosis, a disease characterized by shortness of breath, cough, fever and chest pain.

Aspergillosis is extremely difficult to diagnose and can even lead to death. Additionally, the mold may have released aflatoxins into the air, which trigger the development of cancer, hepatitis, and immune suppression. So it turns out that scientific reasons, not a curse, are responsible for the mysterious death of archaeologists.

From Alchemy to Robotics: The Fascinating Story of the Homunculi

Homunculi have fascinated many people throughout history. From the ancient Greeks to the medieval alchemists. The challenge of creating an "artificial human" stimulated imagination and curiosity.

The concept of the homunculus dates back to ancient Greek mythology, where the god Hephaestus was said to have created an artificial man named Talos. Talos was made of bronze and was said to be able to move on its own while guarding Crete. In medieval Europe, the idea of creating homunculi became popular with alchemists who believed that these tiny creatures could be created by mixing sperm with other substances.

The 16th-century alchemist Paracelsus was one of the most famous proponents of this theory. He claimed that a human could be created without natural parents and that an alchemist could create a homunculus using semen and horse manure. Despite the lack of evidence that Paracelsus or his followers ever created a homunculus, the idea has inspired many people throughout history.

For example, the German writer Johann Wolfgang von Goethe included a homunculus in his play "Faust". The concept of the homunculus has also played a role in the development of artificial intelligence. In the 1940s, neuroscientist Warren McCulloch and mathematician Walter Pitts used the homunculus concept to develop a model of the brain called a neural network. This model was based on the idea that the brain contains small, self-contained "processing units" that work together to form a unified consciousness.

It is also hard not to notice that the desire to create "artificial people" to perform various tasks for us has led to the creation of all robotics and artificial intelligence. Semen analysis has also led mankind to develop in-vitro technology, which has significantly surpassed the dreams of alchemists because it creates not artificial but real people. Although the intentions of the ancient scientists were far different from today's scientific methods, they were guided by exactly the same idea, which, in one way or another, has been preserved to our times.

Today, the idea of \u200b\u200bcreating homunculi may seem outdated and stupid. However, it is important to remember that these ideas were once taken seriously by many people and that they played a role in the development of scientific thinking and experimentation. Without alchemists and their fascination with homunculi, we might never have developed some medical inventions and technologies.

It is worth remembering such stories in order to appreciate our knowledge and achievements today. Often it is better to dare to look for an answer, even if the question seems to make no sense! After all, what is life without challenges and difficult questions?

WILL TELEVISION AND MEDIA MAKE YOU BELIEVE IN UFOs!?

➡️ Around 2009 and for a good decade after that, UFOs were considered a "strange story."

It was associated with the environment of science-fiction fans or with people who believed in various strange theories, which were not always true. Back then, belief in UFOs was ridiculed by the so-called "scientific rationalists" grouped around sites like Racjonalista PL or Blog de Bart.

Those were the old days, and many new readers may not be familiar with these places in cyberspace and environments.

But now it's 2023. God, I'm old! Is it even possible? How did this happen? Well, new times have come, we are dealing with various strange sightings in the sky, e.g. spy balloons over the USA, China, etc. The official media has also changed the narrative - now there are more and more suggestions that these may be aircraft of alien civilizations.

➡️ It is written about it directly, using the term "research probes of extraterrestrial civilizations." This is a shocking shift in the narrative for me. Who knows, perhaps soon the one who does not believe in UFOs will be considered a so-called foiler and a detached person?

What are they preparing us for? What do they want to achieve? Are we prepared to accept the existence of extraterrestrial life? Or is it something else?

WAS A UFO PROBE FALLING UNDER BYDGOSZCZ?

THIS OBJECT FELL NEAR THE VILLAGE OF ZAMOSC NEAR BYDGOSZCZ.

The case has electrified the media and public opinion in recent days. A video showing an object similar to a giant "horn" falling to the ground was recorded by one of Kuyavian construction entrepreneurs. It is on his page.

Initially, it was believed that it was a Russian rocket or the remains of a Polish training rocket. Then the topic died down.

➡️ the place where this mysterious something fell has been secured in detail. Various services conducted analyzes and tests for 3 days. Then the remains were transported under the cover of night.

Or is it something else? Maybe the invasion is already underway, but we don't even know it?

MEADOW AND FOREST OR CLUB AND SHOPPING GALLERY? WHAT DO YOU PREFER?

💜 🌳 WE DON'T GO TO THE FOREST TO QUIET BECAUSE IT IS A PLACE OF PEACE AND QUIET.

After all, all the time you are in the middle of a large and quiet forest area, there is a murderous fight of predators for food, and their victims - fight for escape and survival. From the smallest, single-celled organisms, invisible to the naked eye, to the great forest predators / carnivores.

➡️ The idea that the fuel for life (e.g. food) is delivered very often (daily, instead of e.g. every few years), as well as the idea that one life must murder and devour another life to survive, is the embodiment of hell for me . I don't know what the person (or something) who came up with it had in mind. I analyze it with my fallible, gnostically inspired mind. And since no one has yet done the work of solving this riddle, it is assumed that the Creator of all things himself and his intention are inscrutable and impossible to comprehensively comprehend.

Well, I would give the Creator a six for the graphics, I would give him a 5+ for the level of development (complication), and for the atmosphere of this earthly game - insufficient with an exclamation mark. 😉

➡️ But let's get back to the merits.

Well, we walk long kilometers into the depths of the forest abyss to sit on a stump, listen to the silence interrupted by the subtle voice of the wind, enter a meditative trance, take a sip of good beer, because the mechanized civilization has created even more stressors than the eternal forest full of traps and threats.

Once a wolf chased a man maybe once a year, these animals have long since learned to avoid people. Similarly, rarely when living, for example, in the Mediterranean, it happened that the specter of hunger hovered over you. You could always collect or hunt something.

➡️ Meanwhile, today the role of a tiger or a wolf was taken over by the boss and his constantly new and new tasks to be performed or his moods, frustration or even mobbing. And the specter of hunger hangs over you whenever you are unable to carry out a given command, when you are fired from work, when interest rates increase, inflation, levies paid to the bank, taxes, fuel prices, food prices, and so on.

We have a lot of stressors, such as the constant, incessant roar of engines, whether at work (warehouse, factory, driver's cab), or in traffic. At home we turn on the radio or TV, and from behind the wall we hear the noises of the neighbors. Even considering only sound stimuli, there are many more stressors in our times. It is worth remembering that loud noise is a great stress for the body.

So in the middle of the forest, away from human settlements, the number of all these stimuli is still large, but less than in the circle of civilization.

A WORLD WHERE YOU HAVE TO FIGHT FOR SURVIVAL AND EXISTENCE

💥 💯 DIVIDE ET IMPERA: DIVIDE AND RULE. That is the maxim of keeping humanity at the lowest possible level of the animal struggle for existence.

It is not only about ideological, religious, district, sports, and so on divisions. But its main assumption is that humanity should be at the level of struggle to provide the most basic needs, like animals. Needs such as food, water, shelter, and partners.

➡️ The destiny of man, according to the constructor of this system (if it exists at all), is to be more than all the rest of plants and animals, to be the crown of creation. The pursuit of peace, goodness, and truth is to lead us to the development of humanity.

However, that doesn't work very well. From the point of view of nature, there is only Darwinism, i.e. animal, brutal struggle for existence, and genetic selection, i.e. reproduction of the strongest and most ruthless individuals. And these principles work the strongest.

➡️ The subsystems we create and their components quite often duplicate these patterns from nature. Empathy, which we acquire slowly and only after a dozen or so years of growing up, is supposed to oppose these cruel rules. However, before a given generation grows up and develops this empathy based on its experiences, there will already be two new generations in the world, repeating the same mistakes as the older generation.

The problem is that the technological revolution is happening very quickly, while the evolution of consciousness from half-animal to ideal human is relatively slow. A creature that has just come down from the trees and departs from the mentality of a wild, though already hairless monkey, with nuclear weapons, is a deadly threat not only to its planet but also to other cosmic civilizations, if they exist.

So it is possible that the hypothesis that alien civilizations maintain a quarantine zone around the Earth is true.

THE IDEA OF A GOOD GOD IS NOT SUPPORTED BY THE FACTS!

➡️ Whenever I wonder why many smart people who looked through this "Inverted" world and came to surprisingly convergent and disturbing conclusions, also went insane ... Just like the author of the SF novel Philip Dick ...

…Every time I come to a certain hole within a hole, a gap within a gap, such a double Nelson.

➡️ Well, the religious perception of the world - the very idea of GOOD GOD is nothing more than a fantasy, a daydream. Because how much do you have to be detached from real reality to draw such an illogical conclusion that this world was created by a higher power that is good and just?

Another version sold to people is: you only live once, consume, have fun and most of all DON'T THINK too much. Because thinking hurts, the very effort of such poorly made cognitive apparatuses, which is our brain, is painful for him. It's easier for him to work from dawn to dusk for those few moments of dopamine high a day than to think.

Because it inevitably means confronting the question, what the hell are we even doing here? And what does that mean? Let it have any tiny sense, such a tiny tiny sensik. Because I don't expect some fireworks from what's going on here.

➡️ It just so happens that various types of thinking heads have been thinking about it for ages, but there is no answer if there was no answer. Therefore, they eventually invented nihilism, utilitarianism, and existentialism. Then it just went downhill as rap, tik tok and the so-called "voke" came into being. You can now roll up the mantles.

To say something to these tired people, they came up with something that, yes, no one has found the answer to this question, so it is an eternal mystery. And of course, just in case, it's better to stop thinking about it, and it's best to stop thinking about it at all. All you have to do is consume and excrete and of course work.

Zen Buddhism, which is currently experiencing a renaissance in the form of non-duality, has a similar answer.

"Do not think. Meditate.”

Wait a minute, something stinks here.

➡️ Yes, after meditation, you will feel better for a while, but you might as well give yourself electroshock or a transorbital lobotomy. You won't think either and you'll feel better.

So that doesn't give an answer. My mind is full of a picture of a drunk electrician who, seeing the sparks from the conclusion, bangs his fist on the fuse, then corrects the pumpkin with all his might.

Sparks do not fly anymore, but the light in the house was gone, so there is no more. Does that mean the world has won against you? Or is it a draw?

The missing partner of a criminal. Was she his victim?

Kinga Wrześniewska was born in 1977 in a small town in the Świętokrzyskie Province. She had two younger siblings. The Wrześniewski family was nothing special. The same could be said about Kinga. Relatives remembered her as a rather shy person. Because of this, she never had many friends.

After graduating from high school, Kinga moved out of the house. She was to start her studies in Krakow. However, the 18-year-old resigned from them after only two months. She didn't even manage to take any of the exams in the first session. Around this time, Wrześniewska met Władysław P. for the first time. The man was 17 years older than his new girlfriend. He worked as an electrician, but it was not his main source of income.

Kraków – Kinga studied here

He earned large sums of money through illegal business. He was mainly involved in smuggling Ukrainian cigarettes to Great Britain. In the criminal world, Kinga's partner was known as "Waldi". The young woman knew about his shady activities. It didn't bother her though. Moreover, she helped her boyfriend in business. Wrześniewska traveled to Great Britain several times. Officially, to make money. It is believed that the main reason for these trips was the illegal transport of cigarettes.

The criminal activities of Władysław P. brought large profits. The man decided to invest the money in real estate. No wonder, because it is quite a common form of investing capital. Formally, however, "Waldi" was not the owner of the property. Most of them officially belonged to his sister. Thus, it was more difficult to associate them with his person.

The relationship between Kinga and "Waldi" was very good at first. The couple quickly moved in together. First in Kraków, and then in a house in Skawina, which on paper belonged to Władysław's sister. However, the parents of the young woman did not like this relationship, mainly because of the large age difference. However, Wrześniewska did not want to listen to her relatives, who over time reconciled with her choice.

The idyll was interrupted by the man's arrest. In 2004, he was sentenced to several years in prison for ordering a fatal beating. It is worth adding that "Waldi" was close to getting away with justice. Dozens of people (including King) provided him with an alibi. However, based on the location of the man's phone, the investigators managed to undermine it and prove his connection to the crime.

Thus, running the business fell on Kinga's shoulders. However, the woman did not have such experience and contacts as her partner. The couple's finances were thus severely damaged. The situation changed in 2006. At that time, Władysław's health deteriorated. The man has been temporarily released from prison. After his recovery, he was, of course, going back to prison.

"Waldi", however, had other priorities than his own health (assuming he actually had problems with it). The criminal seized the opportunity and once again headed the illegal practice. He also discovered that his partner was doing poorly in his absence. He held great grudges against her for this. Fights broke out between the partners.

Władysław had the opinion of an aggressive and quick-tempered man. So he could use physical violence against his partner. The man was also very jealous of his girlfriend. It is believed that he accused Kinga of meeting someone in his absence. Despite all these issues, the relationship continued.

In the fall of 2007, Władysław and his beloved celebrated the eleventh anniversary of their relationship. They went first to the cinema and then to a romantic dinner. The day was very successful. Kinga and her boyfriend returned home and went to sleep. However, everything changed dramatically in the middle of the night. The woman suddenly woke up. The reason was that "Waldi" started choking her.

Wrześniewska managed to free herself somehow and run out of the house. The woman then saw a car belonging to a man who rented a room from them. Without thinking, she got into the car and locked it from the inside. Thanks to this, she miraculously managed to avoid death at the hands of her partner. Only then did she realize that she should end this toxic relationship.

So Kinga moved to a summer house in Ściejowice. It belonged to her brother. Fearing for her safety, the woman adopted two large dogs to protect her from a capable partner. She sensed that even after moving out and breaking up, Władysław would not give up so easily.

Shortly after the dramatic incident, "Waldi" returned to detention to finish his previous sentence. Only a few months later, in early 2008, the man was released again due to poor health. Shortly after leaving detention, he contacted Kinga and asked for a meeting. The woman finally agreed to the interview.

During the meeting, the criminal demanded the return of two apartments that officially belonged to his former partner. It is not entirely known whether Kinga and Władysław finally came to an agreement on this issue, and if so, what were the conditions agreed upon by them.

On April 1, 2008, Waldi came to help Kinga with some work on the plot. We know this because the woman sent an email with this information to one of her friends. She also informed that the man went to his place for a while, and then he would come back to her for the night. In the evening, Wrześniewska called her dad.

The next day, Kinga's relatives could not contact her. They were concerned because it was unusual for her. They asked a friend who lived nearby to check if the woman was okay. The man went to the place. He did not find the resident of the summer house there. Her car wasn't there either. The strangest thing, however, was the absence of both dogs, which usually ran around the property. On the other hand, it could mean that Kinga went somewhere for a few days and took the pets with her.

There were also traces of what looked like a bonfire. However, it seemed that some things had been burned in the fire. A friend passed this information on to the family. In mid-April, Kinga's brother, who had previously stayed abroad, appeared in the house. His sister accompanied him. The siblings then checked the inside of the building. What they discovered made them very anxious.

Kinga's room lacked a bed and bedding. The notarial deeds confirming that the woman was the owner of two properties, for which she had previously argued with Władysław, were missing from the house. It also turned out that a fragment of the carpet had been cut out and the floor had been carefully washed. Paint and plaster were removed from the walls with a grinder.

An interesting discovery was also made in front of the building. Traces of a bonfire mentioned earlier by a friend were found there. However, it was not the typical bonfire where most of us fry sausages. In this case, a SIM card, a woman's purse, a rosary and even two metal dog bowls were thrown into the fire.

It seemed that something bad must have happened in Wrześniewska's bedroom, and the perpetrator decided to cover all traces behind him. The family felt that Kinga was not missing but murdered. The relatives immediately contacted "Waldi" and told about the disappearance. The man claimed that he did not know what happened to his ex-partner. He maintained that he had not seen her since March. But it was a lie.

Kraków - the missing woman's car was found here

So the case was reported to the police. The investigators decided to check Władysław P. It turned out that on the night of April 1-2 his phone was turned off. Therefore, it was not possible to determine exactly where the man was at the time. This seems significant. Previously, "Waldi" was convicted precisely because, based on the location of his cell, he was proven to have committed a crime.

Investigators also found out that the ex-boyfriend of the missing woman went to the apartments that formally belonged to Kinga. They were previously rented. The man terminated the tenants of their contracts. So he acted as if the apartments were his. He also continued to deny seeing his ex-partner on the day she disappeared.

Two years after the woman's disappearance, there was a discovery that could be a breakthrough in the case. Kinga's car was found in Krakow. It was dusty and the tires had no air. It looked as if no one had used it for a long time. The door of the vehicle was open, but the trunk was closed. But there was nothing important about it. Inside the car, no evidence could be found that could help solve the mystery.

Unfortunately, Kinga has not been found to this day. It's very unlikely she's still alive. She was most likely murdered. The culprit also seems pretty obvious. However, there is no evidence on the basis of which he could be held responsible. In this respect, the story of Wrześniewska resembles, for example, the case of Iwona Mogiła-Lisowska. She also disappeared under unexplained circumstances. She probably fell victim to her husband. However, this was never confirmed by investigators.
